Horror Movies

I made a thread back in 2009..

http://8wayrun.com/threads/horror-movies.3599/

You didn't search very hard
you darn right. I just press "what's new" and this was towards the top. then I was like, "Huh! I like horror movies so let's see what's in here." Which I'm pretty sure most people in this thread did. we (or rather I) didn't know this thread existed before hand. and since it wasn't on my mind then the last thing i planned on doing was searching for it. sorry but this thread is 2011/2012. new times and current times.

Well, it's not horror, but it is haunting. Vampire adolescent relationship movie, but don't think Twilight. It's quite good, if a bit slow.
there was this other movie where this boy befriends this young girl and it turns out that she's a vampire. it came out recently i think. forgot what the name was though. sorry if it's a little vague.

Yea, it's the american version of Let the Right One In. It's called Let Me In, has Chloe whats-her-face from Kick-ass

Let Me In

Great movie, by the way. :)

Didn't much care for that version by the by

It applies to most, if not all, of the remakes. The original ones are far better. :D

Did you see both versions of 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo?' If so you'll understand, the American film isn't bad, but the foreign film is just better.

I have not watched that movie yet. I think I'm going to read the book first... But if ever I'll watch the foreign one first then.

So what do you guys recommend. I like horror, but not just stupid gore-fests like the Saw films (first one was okay actually, if nice to see Cary Elwes from Princess Bride still getting work), Wrong Turn, or Scream,

Actually, got bored and watched Nosferatu a few days ago. Kind of liked it.

I did a huge face palm at my ignorance when I read this. thought I was typing something redundant. but I agree with foreign movies being better with stories. that's why I like the Ju-on (japanese Grudge series) over the american Grudge series. the japanese ones have some very good stories with a lot of mind-f%*ks in them. also been kind of slow on my horror movie watching lately. I need to watch some more. oh and I've been playing the game called Alan Wake. It's like a movie or short television series. great game to start out the new years for me. loving the story and it's about a writer Dab! there are these manuscript pages that are damn good that he picks up throughout the game and he give his own inspiration for writing and it's very insightful and help to me as well.

Eh don't worry.

Ah Japan. What would my childhood have been without you.

Mystery Science Theater is hilarious, my dad went to school with Joel too. "Arruffarroo Bowhauwow"

1:58 in to that video "Wait. those are two separate ideas.."

I'm holding out for hd release of Silent Hill 2 (same night as Soul Calibur 5, and FF-13-2, ha, one-stop shop)

Speaking of horror games, have anyone here played the Fatal Frame series yet? Or Siren? Those games are awesome.
I have them but haven't played them yet. I'm waiting to get a converter so I can play my PS2 on my computer monitor screen. that's what I play my Xbox on.

this year is gonna break me so bad in terms of money. It's not even funny. and that's just the games. let alone the movies that are coming out like Resident Evil (even if they aren't that great me being a huge fan makes it my duty to watch them anyway) and Silent Hill 2: the movie. just to name a few.

Oh man, tell me about it. And Silent Hill 2: The Movie?! WHAT?! I have not heard that before! I gotta find out more about this stuff. I'm a sucker for anything Silent Hill.

I really want to get a PS2, if only to play Okami without having to deal with stupid motion controls.

Any who, they're making another Silent Hill film? I like Silent Hill 2, the game, not the rest of the games. Silent Hill: The Movie, thought it would be better

yeah man! I've been all over that movie. It's coming out this year. it's being made by some of the same people as RE: Afterlife (the best RE movie imo besides the first one) and was to be filmed right after Afterlife was done. It was mainly being filmed in Torronto, Canada and I even got to see the place where they filmed the Carnival scene! The second movie is based off the third game (Silent Hill 3) and has several characters from the first movie in it as well.
