Eli - I feel I have a fairly up to date Lappy, I would just need the PVR thing and splitter thing. These are things I feel the community should pool together for that can be useful for everyone.

Also, this is to help me Run tournaments, with whatever I have available to me. Also, I plan on setting up Set Stream Days, so people can watch us train, like some 2Ders do. Will also help us be exposed to the FG Communitys as well as for Namco/Capcom/MAdCatz/etc to see. Professionalism.

J1yeon - The moment you are acqauinted with us, Troll Hard. I mean, even if you win just ONE match against up, make sure to Rub it in!! Like Seriously. Its the only way your presence will be felt in this community. Otherwise nobody will care.

Its called.

Rivalry.

See, posts like this bothers me. To me, it's just a lot promises. Not hating on Dino but everybody seems to want to stream but do not really know what it really entails.

Here's a few problems you will come across with when streaming:
-You need a good computer
-You need a good video card
-You need good upload speed. 1mpbs atleast.
-You need patience.
-Most importantly, you need money for the first 3 I listed.

Everybody wants to stream but nobody really knows what's the work and money involved in it.
Please be buying equipment just because they just saw somebody stream and thought it was cool. Lots of things involved. Don't waste your time and money if you just give up a month after (Like Ofmatic with the MK scene).

Russel acting like I dont know how to get something organized.

Anyways I do plan on learning to stream. We need SOMEONE (Bobb) to dedicate stream for SCV. And recording (page), because not everything can be streamed.

I have a Intel i3-350M 2.26Ghz 3MB l3 cache, 4GB DDr3 Mem Lappy, 500kb/s Up I believe, Its at least worth trying no?

Gotta start small and work your way up right?! The pessimism in this forum, terrible.

Dino I doubt the laptop is powerful enough to stream properly. The best alternative is to just record the matches and then upload them.

Dino when your free you should come to my place with your laptop. I have a PVR already, that I can bring to the tournament. Bring your labtop so I can install the software and test the recording of videos that way were not wasting time at tournment. For the actual tournament I'll bring my Portable HD and the matches will be save on that. After Which I or Russell will upload. And Dino do you have a creating bracket software on your laptop? As for the conveter Partisan said he can bring it.

Again:
Dino:Laptop
Eli: PVR, and protable HardDrive
Partisan: Component to HDMI Conveter

For System:
Eli
I have a Back up
Dino? (Although you might not need to, cause it might be too much with your laptop)

the tio Tournament Organizer was one of the first programs I installed.

I have a PS3, but the reason I've been looking into another one/extra one is so I can have to keep at Tournament Locations/Friends place, and one at home to train. Thats way I don't have to always carry it around all the time. Also, my PS3 still has "wallpaper" issues, and would never look good if used for tournament. I would still bring it though, SC5 might still play cleanly.

Thats, and I want to be able to do things locally again. I dont mind downtown, but travelling downtown sucks, and want a place for TEAM STC to train, without worrying about systems, or wanting to review matches.

I dont think you guys realize. The pot will be $3000 easily at WB. 100 SC + 100 2D = $1000 = $3000 Pot. Serious Business. Get Crackin'

PS - I'll also need to get a twitchtv and justintv account. Also need to see what the best streaming programs are.

(Like Ofmatic with the MK scene).
Is there a reason you always bring my name up in a negative way about what I did for the MK scene or are you just being a hater? At least appreciate what I was doing for the scene. The why I stopped is irrelevant. What matters is that I tried my best to help the scene get a jump start. I don't regret anything I did in regards to helping the MK community. But I guess...

I think I'm gonna post this everytime I spot a hater. lol

P.S. Don't forget that if it weren't for me being so pro-active in helping the MK community, I wouldn't have met Gar and discovered that A&C World was opening up. Who knows how long it would have been before we would have found out about it otherwise.

The pessimism in this forum, terrible.

Agreed. Instead of spitting on your ideas people should be more supportive.

Reminds me of this..

I'm certainly supportive of you guys but the track record speaks for itself sometimes.
I didn't mean for that post to be demeaning and if you took it that way, I apologize.

Just realize that streaming cost money and patience.

Dino: PM Jaxel your specs and see if it's good enough. I'm sure a few upgrades is required. I have hauppage and it does stream but quality is nowhere near good.

If you are using Mac, you can use LiveStream's program.
You have a lot of choices if you have Windows. X-split is free (I think).

If you guys want to straight stream, that is easier.
If you want streaming with bells and whistles, you really need a powerful computer to run 4 big programs at a time.

All I say is, i would be happy if this flies off but depends on how committed some of you really are.

I really want to go to Winter Brawl... it'll cost me at least $300 for that trip assuming I can get shift swaps at work. If I don't get shift swaps and just get work days off that'll cost me even more due to the money I'll be losing out on..

I already have around that much saved up in my EVO fund... and a EVO plane ticket costs around $450 after tax right now.

And then there's Final Round, which will cost probably around $450 for the whole trip, and that will probably end up getting close to a $10,000 pot.

Dampierre? No Dampierre?

Decisions decisions...

In the end I think my best bet is to just keep saving for Evo. That tournament is going to be better than both WB and FR. Plus it'll give me more time to prepare myself to win.

Decisions decisions...
As if you're the only one having decisions I'm actually trying to sort out my plans and decisions. Here's the thing...

I'm getting SC5 collector's edition on Jan 30 but my PS3 is dead so my options are:
  • Repair PS3, but after repairs the life expectancy will be shortened only to last for a couple of months.
  • Buy a new one which is damn expensive not to mention that Sony and Microsoft are announcing their latest consoles this year. Also it bears the question whether the hard drive I bought couple months ago for my PS3 upgrade will fit in the PS3 slim.
In further regards to buying a new console, Canada seems to only have the 160GB PS3's and not the 120's and the cheapest price I found is $239+tax.

I'm not willing to travel outside the GTA, but if anyone finds a much lower price within the GTA and PS3 slim has to be new then that will be greatly appreciated.

franman, did you confirm with Gamerama that the life expectancy will be shorter? I know that when they repair the 360 red ring that they do it in a way so that it won't happen again.

Also there is no guarantee that the next-gen consoles will be announced this year. Don't know about Microsoft but I know that it's been confirmed recently by Sony that the PS4 won't be revealed this year.

I wasn't planning to go to EVO anymore, but I have two big gigs that came up that are paying 200+ dollars, so maybe I can finally go to EVO after all :) soembody PLEASE keep me informed on the details so i can budget myself accordingly.

No, but I assume according to this site http://www.videogamerepairtoronto.ca/ps3.php, they say standard warranty on all repairs range from 3 to 6 months, it has to mean something and it tells me that a repaired machine ain't gonna last long.

I ask ppl around about life expectancy of a repaired machine and they tell me the same thing. I remember having an old Zeneith TV getting repaired many times until I grew fed up with it, an old car that has been repaired many times but still runs into constant problems.

I think it's best to get a new system as a way to continue the warranty and to practice SC5 in the long run.

I have the exact same problem as franman. PS3 ylod'd on me, so I'll probably check in with Gamerama at some point to see how much a repair costs. I plan on getting a new PS3 as well, but I need the repair to get my save data.

C_3 maybe we can try meeting at A/C on Saturday. I'll contact others to see if we can get something going on.

In other news my Avatar is Godlike.
