Ivy SCIV->SCV Changes

I think your right about the Indicator part helping to make it easier for the timing of JF moves.

The 3rd hit of the JF "looks" like it hits the ground this time. In pervious version the 3rd hit never really touched the ground.

The range on the third, forth and fifth hit seem to have the same range, but seems to be smaller than the first two hits.

So with each hit it will push back the opponent. I think we might have to be careful using 22(B) at max-mid range. It might push out the opponent too far and then the last hit might wiff, which was one of many problems this move had in SC4.

Noface, no, everyone who tried to interrupt it with something quick was successful.

As for tracking, I vaguely remember it catching someone once or twice. More often than not it was sidestepped.

BBB tracks to Ivy's right, that I know. Not sure if 5-hit if any different. Since she no longer enters SE, you can't delay BBB/JF and re-align yourself towards the opponent like in SC4. A simple step or 8wayrun to Ivy's left will make her vulnerable to heavy whiff punishments.

Disappointing. I guess 22B is going to be a whiff punishment tool, or a mixup tools vs. people who can't stand up for it on reaction. How does the total damage (22B, 5 hit) compare to other launchers in the game? I know other people can combo CEs off of theirs, but hopefully it averages out higher than most other launchers in the game without CE use.

Anyway, I'm gonna be testing the new build of SC5 next week. I'll keep an eye out for any changes.

Check the last page. According to Link, 22(B), 5-hit JF is approx 60 dmg, which is low for such a difficult combo.

60 dmg is pretty close to what Hilde gets from C2A on NH, which kills step and appears to be + on block yet again.

Why, oh why in the world do they not make this move WORTH IT?

Seriously, do they have something against 5-hit JF? :(

Anyone else think quick step + Sw 1_2_3b+k may become a very useful tactic for Ivy? And now that i think about Sora if the damae scales decentcly in combos it will actually be pretty good, and it will be a 90% improvement from Sc4. We just have to wait and see.

Or SCIV Siegfried's BEST whiff punisher ~_~
I don't know man, you still get smexy points for it =/

Tried 1B brave edge on normal hit into 3B and 6KB, both got shaken. I can't imagine anything else painful being fast enough to combo into. Will test more tomorrow, perhaps I wasn't mashing hard enough xD

I don't really like the new Ivy. She's too....mid tier. I need something stronger xD

And yo, I dunno if this is new, but Siegfrieds blocked 3B into SCH K is a frame trap?!? I was mashing AA, 2A, K, BB, everything, and nothing could interrupt!?!?! This makes life hard for Ivy.

I probably should have asked this before, but to anyone who got to play SCV yet, how do her command throws feel compared to their SCIV incarnations? One of the things I liked about SS/iCS in that game was that you could basically cheat and input half circle one way, full circle reverse and execute her throws(on a stick,) but that's definitely not possible with this new 28284666 input. How is it in term of ease of use/viability/overall effectiveness now compared to before in your opinion?

wait what!? The command is now 28284666? Christ - why not just make it Up-Up-Down-Down-Left-Right-Left-Right B, A, Start.

Actually, that' might even be easier with stick. Does the SC5 buffer window equal SC3's buffer window now?

hopefully after a while people can start breaking down the new Ivy to really see where she stands among the cast...

i kinda with this thread had a consolidated list of changes then it being all over the place...having to write it all down was rather annoying but at least its all here with-in the threads~
