iCS/CS and SS information

Pretty sure I tried holding single inputs longer than 6F with a total <40F, and it didn't work. The only exception to this was the first input.

Hey guys. Just wanted to say that this is by FAR the easiest CS input yet. Once you get it, you'll understand. I've been playing since SC2 and this is the first game where I'm able to do it 90% of the time; the rest I could barely do it in training mode LOL At first I was like most of you- "WTF!?!"... well, my trick is to use both the Dpad and the analog. Simply hold down on the analog with your right thumb while hitting hit up twice on the dpad with your left (at this point it's 8282) and make sure to input the rest of the command on the dpad. I've mapped the B+G throw to the R2 button on the PS3 if it makes a difference. It's so satisfying pulling it off; I'm even able to pull it off after an 8B! Good luck whippers.

Um, I have to say, if you cannot easily do it with an arcade stick alone, like all fighting games are designed to be, then it is not easy... If you have to resort to using both the analog and digital inputs at the same time, then something is wrong with the game's design... I miss the days of pulling off a Flaming CS in the arcades, miss the days of playing fighting games the way they were supposed to be played - in the arcades... Oh, and I must mention missing the days where I could pull off a Guard Impact without needing any special meters... Oh well, I'll deal with what I got, at least I like the feel of this game more than SCIII and SCIV... Then again, haven't spent a lot of time with this game yet, but each iteration makes me miss SCII Ivy even more and more...

It's too bad you can't have fun with the series on the console! :-( I like the input.

Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy the game, I just hate how it almost forces me to play the game unnaturally...
I kinda get what you're saying. But I was never really involved in the arcade scene (except when I discovered SC2 as a wee 12 year old lol) so I can't really say what feels good or not for you.

You'd be surprised what young kids can do nowadays, once played against an 8 year old in a tournament back in the SCII days, he made it to the top 3, obliterated almost everybody! My 3 year old nephew can finish the first Portal on his own... Couldn't believe it till I saw it myself... Anywho, back on topic... I do, however, like how the new input makes you step forward, places you in a pretty good position if used well... Also, I find it easier to pull it off while buffering... I can't seem to always get it by just inputting the commands while just standing... Kinda weird...

Yep, CS comes out a lot easier while buffering it... I too like the 3 steps forward. It forces you to keep up the pressure. I'm having a lot of fun pulling it off online. I'm fortunate to never have lag.

This move should be considered a "while running" move!!! I just realized that if I hold the last 6 and wait for her to begin the running animation I pull it off A WHOLE LOT MORE...now I don't even think correct inputs matters because sometimes the inputs my screen shows are a mess...if she "jitters" she will not do it...RUN ANIMATION!!!

This is the first time in my SC career (and i've been playing since SC1) that i'm unable to do Ivy's throw. I am very upset about that. I'm inputting the correct command so I expect the throw to come out. It's as simple as that. My only logical conclusion is that this is a bug....seriously. It isn't some jf...when i do the command the bitch needs to do the throw.

I think I'm just slow on the stick. =( The old SC2 style buffer system where you could spend up to 50 frames between each directional input felt really good because you could interleave other attacks in the throw command buffer. This new 2 second max buffering time system feels like you have to slam the inputs to get it out.

Sup guys. New to the forums. I've been messing with Ivy. I like trying to do all the just frames just for the sake of being able to do them. Anyhow, saw the ridiculous input for her throw and thought I'd give it a try.

From my training mode practice I've learned a few things that made it easier for me to execute.
First the command doesn't have to be that fast. I buffered it from just a neutral A and B.

I think the most important thing in getting it to come out is having all the inputs. It doesn't matter if you hit other directions so long as you get all of them.

Let's say for the sake of making my point it gives you one 1.5 seconds to do the throw

If you input for example: 2-8-2-8-1-6-6-6. Doesn't matter if that's the only directions you hit and if you can do it in .3 seconds. it will never come out since you're missing the 4

But if you do 2-8-2-8-2-1-4-3-6-6-6 in 1.2 seconds it will.

All the game really cares about is that the correct directions are hit at least once, and the next direction in the sequence is also hit. Regardless of what's in between.

Hell you can do something weird like 2-8-4-2-8-7-4-3-6-6-5-6 and it will still come out if you do it within the given time frame because all that matters is that the original inputs of 2-8-2-8-4-6-6-6 is somewhere there.

The game basically checks for an 8 after the 2. Doesn't matter if 5 other inputs are in between if it sees an 8 it goes to the next number in the sequence which is another 2. Basically it just keeps checking after every correct input that the subsequent direction after is also hit.

Obviously the cleaner the better

Go to training mode and see which input you're not registering if it doesn't come out.

Geezus this is really long and I had to type it on my iPhone. I really hope this makes sense to somebody. If not hopefully I can reexplain it when I can get on a computer

Are you guy's writing all this for CS or iCS ?
Still no iCS on my side.

It's for CS. Noodalls has checked iCS with programmable stick and to do it you must:

1) Buffer the entire input in less than 40 frames
2) You cannot hold one direction for more than 5 frames

u guys putting in all this effort and astaroths B throw is easier and does just as much

That's true. In fact, even if you can do iCS it still gives you a random reward (Clean Hit) for pulling it off which makes no sense given the difficulty of this move... normal iCS is only 84 dmg and escape window is the same as in normal CS, not worth it.
