iCS/CS and SS information

That's true. In fact, even if you can do iCS it still gives you a random reward (Clean Hit) for pulling it off which makes no sense given the difficulty of this move... normal iCS is only 84 dmg and escape window is the same as in normal CS, not worth it.

Yeah I was questioning what's the point, but A.) it shows some dedication on your part for taking the time to learn it, B.) It's a good tool to have and C.) It still looks ace :-p . But I wish they'd go easy on the lighting effects when the swords swirling through the foe... IIRC in SC2 there wasn't a lot of flashes and lighting when the move hit.

BTW here's a vid of me getting CS off in a ranked game. So it's definitely possible! It's in the first round. I feel for you arcade stick users though. If it's anything like pulling it off with the analog stick I would just give up.

No, there wasn't. But you could make it look cool with UB flames (IIRC it was 3762314A+G, you had to add 4 at the end to make it look like an UB).

I think iCS is a badly balanced move in SC5:

- It's too difficult to do
- The reward for pulling it off is random
- It has the same break window as normal CS
- The range is the same as normal CS
- It must be done so fast that it will become really apparent during offline play (tho a smart Ivy player will be able to use this to his advantage)

Personally I have always mastered iCS in every SC game and I will probably master it again but I can't shake off the feeling that I'm just wasting my time.

what was the break window on the old CS SS?

Supposedly 5 frames, but it was never confirmed.

All I'd like to see is someone who can perform it most of the time to show us how they do it whether on pad, stick or analog. Like, a tutorial video..

I don't know how you guys do it on pad. But I don't have much difficulty pulling it off on a stick. I'm amazed. I think it'd be much harder on a controller. To each their own I suppose

I have a video showing my inputs for CS on a stick, I'll share the link below. The video is over 10 mins long as I didn't edit it, sorry about that! :D First post by the way!

I think those that do use the analog stick. It's almost impossible with d-pad. I have gotten it once in 14908543608936834640936834 tries.....in practice mode...yeah

I'm starting to get CS down more consistently, but I have yet to see an iCS..does the strategy guide say anything about it?

Nice vid XTheWitchX. I like that one.

I'm also new here. I've also uploaded something on youtube last week...showing inputs as well.

Here's the vid:

I can pull the move off occasionally with d-pad, but with a stick can pull if off pretty much at will. (from either side) I'd say I probably get it 9 out of 10 tries with fighting stick.

During online matches, I catch a lot of people with it. .. Maybe pull of at least one every match. (while buffering inside other moves and such) Not sure if you're interested in video clips of that? I have a couple, and one in particular that I like against a pretty tough Algol. I'm pretty average. So, i know if I can do it..you guys here will be murdering everyone pretty soon!

With that said, I still think the move is too hard to do. I prefer SC4's method.

I agree with Ring. This is getting ridiculously hard. iCS is really strict -- I'm not sure where I'm failing, the 5 frame button presses or the length of the move itself.

I have gotten iCS with an imperfect input mind you (extra 2) but can't replicate it anywhere near consistent.

Will keep at it for the next 30 minutes or so, but this is really a pain.

I've never done iCS since I've owned the game. Not one time! I gave up on trying to get it to come out. Needs patch ASAP lol.

Thanks! but I'm sure I've seen that video a few days ago! I have been using the grab at least 3-5 times per match since I can consistently pull it off, people usually get scared after eating 1B BE ~ 6KB so will stand guard or I just buffer after most moves now. I've been recording most of my matches online the past few days, just have to go through them all and pick out the good ones. :D I wouldn't mind seeing your match vids! and I also agree the grab is pretty annoying to pull off.

Wow, it's not humanly possible to do it with such speed. Noodalls, it would be of a great help if you could record the slowest input that can get you an iCS :)

Sora, I think we are failing at 5 frame button presses.

That.. is impossible to input at that speed. Either that or you're really godlike. And I'm already 'cheating'. Lol.

You're most likely right. I'm pretty confident that it's the 4 -> 6 motion that's killing me.

He recorded it with a programmable stick. I don't think it's possible for an average human to do it like that xD

All I know is, if Malek busts out Ivy at Evo and gets iCS 100% of the time... I might throw my hitbox out the window. Lol.

I think if anyone will be able to do it 100% of time (still unlikely), it's gonna be Linkrkc.

Via pstick of course.

My execution is rubbish. I'd never claim to do any of the things I post by hand unless I actually had.

One thought would be, to find a move that has ~i40, program CPU to do it post some situation that leaves you both ~neutral, then see whether you can get your iCS out before the move connects. That way you know whether or not overall speed is limiting you.

I've never been able to get iCS off a buffer though (the few times I did get it). Does it not come out if I do it within another input even if I get it under 40 frames/5 frames per button?
