Move Spamming?

Simple solution: Get ahold of good players here, get them on your friendslist, and play in rooms no bigger than 3 people big. 8 man lobbies are stupid. Playing Randoms is never going to make you better over the long term because it's so hit or miss.
 
Id rather get ahold of players my level here, not medium ones ;P.
Also that way Ill lack alot of matchups. Thats the good thing about ranked, it covers them all. And a wide array of cheap moves. But yeah, Im aware that its not the best way to play. Just the only that works for me as of now.

This is my personal opinion upon this situation. If you win by ring outs, spamming BBBBBBBBB (What ever), grabbing over and over, poking, turtling, by time out, or by any other method you've won. If the opponent could not overcome what ever you were doing it's their own fault.

There are very few exceptions to this and this game has not been out long enough for me to give an example of such an exception in this game but I can in concept. Character A is a normal character with normal moves; average. Character B has a move that can be executed from any situation, happens instantly, can be spammed, and cannot be stopped/avoided/parried/etc. Character B is bull. Mind you this is a super extreme example and may possibly never be even useable in SC5. A similar example from SC4 would be any infinite combo. Unless the infinite is really really really easy to start and do I would still say it's my fault I got caught by it.

Now, onto my point. NOBODY online has my point of view. People are always going to say you spam, cheese, or do something grimey to win. Don't let it get to you and host your own rooms. That's my best advice.

Thank you. I just find it such BS that people complain that I spam even though I won using combos. The people who complained about me spamming, mind you, I had side stepped them plenty of times. Why would I not use Hilde's charge attack moves when they are completely open? That is like having a choice between killing an opponent and letting him live. It is better to finish off your opponent, reguardless if it is the same combo I used before.

Why do I have to constantly switch my strategies just because the opponent does not like the moves I use? It is their fault.

With Raphael I used 88/22 B a lot on my enemy. Like big time, I sidestepped the hell out of them. The only obvious move for me to do is the B,BE combo.

Unless you've hosted a room full of friends, Global Colesseo random/tournament matches has a much higher match turnover compared to waiting your ass off in random player lobbies.

I only wait 2 minutes on average for another match to begin after ending the current one... usually sooner actually.

Might not be applicable if you're one of the few that gets constant disconnects in Global Colesseo.

You just need to ensure you join a busy lobby within your region... ie mine would be London & Paris.

Spamming is a "cheap win". You're overwhelming someone who obviously hasn't figured out how to be competitive. Yeah, you can spam. Yeah, it may be funny but it's mean-spirited fun so why be a part of it? Show some mercy and spam enough so that the opponent gets the point that they need work. But beyond that, if you're good I don't see what spam is doing for you. If you're that bored why play? If you get a kick out of spamming and despise those who can be spammed - fine. But if you have fun at the game and want others around to have fun maybe it wouldn't hurt to be more forgiving. Sick of fighting bad players? Try to help others get better.

Going to be a little lawful evil here. You know what the easiest way to learn how to play is? Play against a spammer... consistently. Back when I was a noob SCIV, my friend learned how to do Cervantes' 6B+K, and SPAMMED the hell out of it. Yeah, I raged sure, but it didn't stop him from spamming the move. So instead, I learned, rather much more quickly than I usually learned. That was the day I learned how to properly execute a sidestep, and from that point on, he has never beaten me in a game of soul calibur...again (He recently used that dumb excuse I play too much)(anyone else have that moment?). So no, there is no such thing as a cheap win, if you lose to a spammer, then you obviously weren't good enough to win anyway, whether or not it kills the fun is irrelevant. (Note: There is an exception to broken combos, but nobody has found any of those yet, or so it seems.)

Are spammers ingrates? I would actually agree with that statement, but not because of what you think. Spammers... TRUE spammers, meaning the people that go into a match using the same tired three moves that kill noobs but do the exact same thing against pros and get completely smashed yet continue to do the same stupid move anyway, are simply annoying. If you don't have the ability to develop a strategy passed using the same 2-3 tired moves, don't expect EVER to be pro...
 
Not everyone will try to get better after being 3B to death though. I mean seriously why should they? You didn't give them any incentive other then you lose by the same move now try again. Show them cool stuff like wall combos and jumping over slow ass 1As for back turned combos.

Instead what they will do is trade their game in and spread false information about it to others. I have been dealing with this shit for years with my Lame Fighter friends. Apparently as much as people want the game to do good y'all honestly don't give a fuck.

The pros don't need to spam to send that message, noobs do it enough as it is. Spamming isn't going away, it's been in fighting games since the inception, if one can't get over that oversight, then why are they even playing a damn fighting game? Hell, WHY are they even playing a game? Ingrates come expected with a game, there isn't ANY doing ANYTHING about it. Whining about it, especially when it isn't even for your sake, isn't going to make it better.
 
I was in a room with a guy that literally had a name like "Coolguy420" it was seriously very, very close to that. He said no spamming, etc. I kept asking what he meant by that and I would follow up with "If you see it over and over shouldn't it be really easy to deal with?" Said I was new, and hoped he would show me how to not spam and he said he would teach me. I picked asty and tried to read him as much as possible and landed 66A, on him multiple times and was immediately booted after.

I kill spammers for the most part. If something does work on me over and over again I feel stupid, go to training, and figure out how to punish it. But I have played people online who are actually really young, or really stupid, or with learning disabilities or some sort of retardation. I wouldn't feel comfortable exploiting such a condition for an easy victory in a video game.
I'll walk back calling it a cheap win. But I'll stand be my opinion that spam victories are at least mean-spirited wins. Ignorance is it's own punishment so show some mercy. There's no need to do one move or one combo for 3-6 rounds unless it's under the pretense of training. Other wise, you may be mocking someone for having an extra-chromosome. I guess if that's what you want to do...but it's not very humane, I don't think it's productive and I'd like to see our community be better than that. I know we'll always have trolls but we shouldn't try to justify it using false morality. You learned one way, someone else may learn another, someone else may be incapable of learning. Besides, it's just not good PR.
 
The only reason that spamming really bothers me is because it significantly changes the way you have to play. In essence, the "spammer" is basically forcing you into becoming a spammer as well. And to anyone who is a fan of playing like that, no, you do not have to play against that person, but you don't know if they are going to play like that until you've already wasted your time fighting them.

Take a look at lobo's video a few posts above me that kind of shit drives me insane because it makes the game boring. It's shit like that that make people hate ranked matches. I don't mind being beaten, but being beaten like that is infuriating. Because:

A. I could have beaten it but I HATE doing the same move sequence over and over and over again just so I can overcome it.

B. Because It's just fucking boring.

That being said, I do agree that winning by whatever means available is perfectly valid, but some tactics are more acceptable than others. If you're playing against an RO troll you don't really have to change your playstyle all that much except to take extra care to stay away from the ring edge (which I do anyway), but if you're playing against a severe spammer then you have to SERIOUSLY change the way you play sometimes in order to beat them, it sucks, but it's still your own fault if you decide (like I usually do) that you do not want to change the way you play just to beat them.

So... people should be nice just in case other people are retarded? See, that's just insulting your potential opponents. Do I have to make sure they get in an attack too so they don't feel bad? Believe me, playing online when you're emotionally sensitive is it's own warning. Our community is fine, the people who spam are no better than the people people who complain about spammers.

People who literally use 1 move for the whole round have to be the easiest to beat. Hell, I beat this one Natsu player called Spammer. I completely wrecked him so bad, it wasn't even funny.
Spammers are funny... damn now I'm hungry...

Ok... In case other people are retarded? IN CASE? LOL! Other people ARE retarded. There is no "in case". Spamming is retarded and look at all the people lining up to defend it. Yeah, it's the opponents fault that the same thing works over and over again. They're retarded. But the people that get their jollies from doing the same thing over and over again are just as retarded. It's a boring waste of time to fight those people. Once you know how to get around the spam there's not really much else to do but rinse and repeat for three rounds. Which makes me feel retarded. Apparently, I just need to have a bib handy to catch the drool.
