Dear Cepheus Store Fans,

Thanks for paying for the patch and future patches.

Sincerely
-The Tournament Community

If the CaS makers are the ones that are spending all the money, who do you think PS is more going to listen to when it comes to patch time? The mere fact that they are doing anything for CaS at all means that they are spending less time making the game more balanced for tournament play. Not that they could keep the salt mine of "serious" players happy even if they tried, if all the whining about the new patch is any indication.

^ I disagree. All they have to do to keep that section of the fans happy is release more DLC maid outfits and shit. After all, I don't think it was "CaS makers" who were asking for them to fix QS4G, Step~G, etc...

Casuals have no logical opinion on anything. If they did, they wouldn't be casuals. If all they wanted was a game that let them play barbie they would be playing some crappy MMO instead. The reason they play this game is because one of their competitive friends told them it was good and all the cool kids are playing it. If PS starts breaking shit and making the game bad, that will piss off the competitive players and they will tell their casual sheeplings to go play something else -- and they will, because that is what they do.

The hardcore may only be the 10%, but that 10% possess a scary amount of influence over the remaining 90%.

There is a "middle class", if you will, that exists. I know this because I am in it. I've played every PS game since Soul Blade/Edge in the arcade and on PS1, and I have been a pretty steady fan of the series. Not because some "competitive" player told me it was good, but because I had fun playing it. I just never got into the whole tournament scene, in this or any other fighting game series. But now that fighting games have gone online, I enjoy competing with other more casual players. CaS is just another way for me to enjoy the game, as I enjoy making fighters and showing them off as well as checking out other people's fighters online. (NAMCO please add a fighter share option! LOL!) And being a more casual player does not mean that I suck, either. I'm probably at the 50 percentile mark when it comes to "skill" in this game. I win some, I lose some. Either way, I have fun.

No... no. I'm glad you have fun and all, but....

....No...

Just enjoy the thread for what it is. I am, haha.

I've seen like 5 of your posts and you come off as an arrogant condescending elitist prick in every one. I'm glad I just discovered the ignore feature :)

This community needs less of you and more fun, easy-going people like the ones in this thread.

Without "people like me" you wouldn't even be playing dressup right now, but thanks for the predictable reaction!

What, is it impossible for people to be both competitive and CaS fans? I compete in local tournaments with 2P Leixia, and when I'm playing at home or at school, I have a CaS that I like to use. Claiming that I'm not competitive solely on the basis that I like CaS would be a straw man fallacy, so don't even try it. Meanwhile, I will be more than happy to fund the next patch that fixes all of the screwups from this one by buying new CaS parts.

Little known fact: if you show even the slightest hint of testosterone, strength of character, or self confidence on a gaming forum, someone WILL call you an elitist. Even when that forum is dedicated to competitive fighting games...

There sure are a lot insecure people in the world...

Nooooo, not at all. I do both. I love frakenroth and gangstaroth. It's a fun feature in moderation. I just happen to have my wits about me and recognize that the CaS is there in addition to the fighting game, not the other way around.

Most of the people you'll find hanging around in global can't seem to figure that out. Nor that there happens to be a block button.

Actually by being condescending to the people in this thread you're the ones coming off as insecure. What are you compensating for?
