Dampierre Q&A / General Discussion

Here are my guesses:

1. Bubble interrupted the CE cutscene

2. Bubble forced a "2nd" CE, causing the bug

3. Possibly just something about the bubble that's unique

It's obvious the bubble interrupted the CE since Damp took damage right after the cutscene initiated.

For that Pyrrah one, Damp's CE is like Nighty's CE except the CE has to GI as you know. It can guard impact any lows, highs, and mids. If I recall correctly, it can GI some CE like Yoshi's(though you have to do it after Yoshi initiates his CE). It can't however GI throws or unblockables.

The Ivy one is a bit weird, but I figured out if you aren't within close range when you use Damp's CE, just GIs and does nothing. Tried it against Sieg's CE at mid to far range and nothing happened except Damp's CE GIed it.

Oh dear...now that I've seen the footage you posted mkl, I'm glad this was brought up sooner, I'll try and see if I can recreate that glitch again (edit: Eli123s already has a replica...) soon thanks for the heads up, this is actually shocking, the more I hear and see glitch talk, the more I feel sorry for this buggy game..ugh, people whining about their own character nerfs...enough of that, it's time to press on forward and approach the positive side of things!

This glitch is very easy to re-create. I'll make a vid about it along with his other bugs and tweet it to Daishi.

You guys should also tweet your vids to him. Rather than one person twitter spamming something, it would be better for a bunch of people tweet it. Or retweet.

I'll just post this here, so that people who haven't seen this in the bugs and glitch thread.
^hmm it seem like the system doesn't know what to do when the bubble collied with Dampierre. Where as with Nightmare or Xiba the animation won't freeze, but the bubble will interupt them.

Hey all, just a little something to share (just remembered this whilst I was on the bus from work), vs Astaroth's CE, if you input 4B even a frame before his freeze animation and speech begins, it will beat it and Astaroth takes damage... So I think to be fair if you should have enough time to react to his CE startup, try it on p-mode and you'll see what I mean...practice it more and you'll get used to it in no time!

Hope it makes sense, otherwise video time!

You're better off simply crouching under it and then punishing with B!E!.

Is there any way to get faster B+Ks? Or is it just completely random on when the sneeze actually comes out?

I don't think it's random, but I'm pretty much the only one who thinks that. You can PM me why I think that and I'll give you some videos and frame data spread sheets. I'm not talking about the random move thread I made either.

What are some optimal usages for Dampierre's Brave Edge moves? With the sole exception of 44K BE, I don't quite know how to use his other BE moves.

33_99B BE is by far Dampierre's best BE since it launches, has no lag, and guarantees another move on guard with the GC version. You can do stuff like 33_99B BE (GC) into 623B if your opponent guards the 33_99B BE (GC).

If you could find some time to critique these videos of some matches I had against fellow forum goer, XiaomuWave, I'd greatly appreciate it!

Well in general you are gonna need to work on you defense. Phyrra hit you with a bunch of low attacks that should have been blocked. Also this other thing seems rather general too but in Dampierre's case it's like his life line. You need to punish every big opportunity you get like when Phyrra whiffed her 88BAK with B!E or 623B B!E! If your feeling lucky. Throws are not applicable punishes because good players can break them with a high frequency.

I haven't played this wacky dude in awhile so that's all I can offer for now.

So is 6B advantage on block? I did a little bit of testing and the training mode tip even says it leaves you at advantage, but the guide says it's -2.

Also, since 6B is a TCing high attack, you can have two Dampierres face off with this move and never hit each other.

Yup the guide says it's -2, I think one way to test this would be to set the cpu (but preferrably have a human partner on a 2nd controller), both do AA, BB AFTER 6B is blocked. I have this odd feeling I've read somewhere that it's +2...maybe it's just me...

@GeneralMording. First thing, when Pyrrha does her 66B BE, try to practice stepping or even JG'ing the follow up,(becomes -17 on block for her, so you can mildly punish it for a BB or 4A) don't let any pyrrha player abuse that move on you. Also when pyrrha was whiffing her 3B, you had at least 1 chance to attempt a whiff punish with 623B.

Also, after CH 6A stun, from mid-max range, or for a follow-up, I usually try a 8B+K if I think they'll stay grounded or will tech back, I think you should go to training mode and experiment on guaranteed followups after KND, STN moves. Also try not to attempt a B!E! after a blocked or whiffed 623B, very bad online habit lol...

I'll watch the others later and see if there's something I can add to that I missed out on.

Good effort nonetheless!
