Here's something I cooked up...

There is a pattern on the purple under-shirt and leggings, but the screenshots don't really show it...

Ayame was born with a condition that would cause her to inevitably become blind as she grew older. She was raised in a small Japanese village which held its traditional customs close and was home to the most beautiful and rare wild flowers. She fell in love with her own culture and grew to love the unique scenery filled with exotic plantlife. However, when she moved to Tokyo, she was disgusted by the industrial scars on the landscape. The last thing she saw before going blind was one of her village's native flowers being used as a source of fuel.

The flower inside the cogwheel was sorta meant to be symbolic of the plants being used as fuel, or something like that...

I really, really like that 2p. I always thought the roman wrap thing was really ugly, but you made it work really well

Why?
Strong entries were Matty82 because of Gizelle, Fliptop because of Kendra, FreeMeal because of General Greedar, and Samaras_Madness because of Decora Girl.

In general, Mistakoo wins because of the lady with a snake one side with another snake with a bomb in it's mouth(hope it won't go off). The whole color schemes and items just clicked. To give you an idea how much I found this one captivating, it could possibly look amazing on someone like Ivy, our lovely whip sword user or even Hilde.

The subzero lookalike was a nice add-on bonus. My only nitpick is tone down the cyan a little. But it's a minor.

Arm warmers were difficult for even me, but well done guys for making me take forever trying to evaluate a winner. Pocky Yoshi rests until the next one.
Yaay me :D
Again thanks. This competition has been very good in honing my skills and learning to experiment more and more.

Actually just a few hours before your post I was adapting the lady's design to Pyrrha, mainly because of the colors and the snake resembling her 2P costume :>

About Nβ (yes that's his name :P) the cyan was matching the lights on the tiger lily grieves. He was actually green colored before that.

It's 24 so voting time isn't it? Mistakoo takes my vote, specially for the chinese girl wich overall appearence is superb. It could pass for a canon char. May be the head buns could be improved a bit but aside from that is outstanding, I specially like the color palette.

So few entries this time :(

I'm voting for HolyCarp for Ayame. The rest of us seemed to have based our designs around the item, he bent the item to his will and made it part of the character instead of the basis for it. That's good.

My vote goes to NeclordX. I'm surprising myself by giving him the vote as I always much prefer to see CAS that are made specifically for the contest, but I was REALLY REALLY close to voting for Leo back in the Kittymeow head challenge so it's nice to get another opportunity to vote for him; and also, there's something about his third entry that I warmed to. It could be made to look more interesting as it really lacks patterns/stickers, but the simplicity is actually kinda nice. And the way he reminds me of a faun even without the "horse legs" or any type of horns.
I also admire how his YLOD (or whatever issue it was) didn't get in the way of him entering this competition, when I got the YLOD I pretty much forgot about gaming and developed a general hatred towards everything.

I just wanted to mention that the close calls were MistaKoo and ThePascuzzi.
MistaKoo's first entry took something quite generic and somehow made it look really interesting (I don't mean that in a backhanded way, I genuinely like him!) and ThePascuzzi made great use of limited tools to produce something pretty unique, though the fact that he's wearing King's pants just seems wrong to me :P

Really hope some more people vote soon, I don't want to see this competition dying.

I liked NeclordX's third character, but the other two barely used the item. I liked HolyCarp's item selection/pairing but the color and the black gradient in particular ruined it for me.
So I guess my vote goes to FreeMeal's Nomura Namura-Man.

That was my idea for the design, glad to know I wasn't being too meta.

Thanks, but what do you mean by the black gradient? This is one of the first times I've made a character without a gradient pattern somewhere (except on the flowers). If you're on about the stomach area in the 2P, I don't like that either, it looked much better on my TV screen tbh. Ah well :P

National Stereotype Snip

Not that you should necessarily expect it, but if at some point in the near future an irate Scotsman bursts through your door and garrotes you with your own intestines I'd urge you not to take it personally.

Now for the vote. I'll cast mine for FreeMeal. There's no arguing that the item is the centerpiece and that everything else revolves around it. Belts, straps and buckles are recurring themes and combine nicely with the top.

NeclordX's Leo is just one of those creations that you can't shake. Simple but striking at the same time. Fantastic.

MistaKoo's third entry (pink and purple girl) was also quite nice. Good vibrant colours and a sense of personality.

HolyCarp's Ayame is bold and eerie looking, which I like. The patterns and stickers are also nice, with the eyebrows looking very distinctive.

ThePascuzzi's entry has some nice colours and pattern going on, he reminds me of Nagamasa Azai from Samurai Warriors...except with a tail. I'm a little confused as to why King's tights were used, it's the only downside I can see to the design.

Not many entries this time around, which I find odd given the item choice. Regardless, the entries we did get were very nice indeed. Good stuff!

Cheers! :D

The (pocket?) sticker on both's stomach areas.

The (pocket?) sticker on both's stomach areas.
Ah ok. They're only black because detail is lost when coloured black, so it was the best way to alter the item's appearance to fit better with the design. I experimented with other colours, but it looked too obvious that I'd just slapped a huge sticker on the item.

No worries though, I totally get where you're coming from :)

Someone wanted me to show how versatile King's Trunks could be, so I made a bunch of designs with different generic themes. Ken is the finished product of the application of King's Trunks to a samurai-themed design. I should probably switch out the trunks for something more fitting, though; Ken is more than just an experimental result, at this point.

I'm having a really tough time deciding on a vote, not necessarily because of the quality of the entries (there are good ones from most entrants), but because I think it's difficult to go wrong with the New Centurion. It's a very versatile part that doesn't require as much thought as the previous secret ingredients. I could give a list of my favorites, but it would look very similar to a list of the entrants, excluding myself. Since so many entries used the part well, then my vote for this round will be decided on which design looks the most complete.

In that case, my vote goes to Holy Carp's Ayame 2P. The color palette instantly jumps out at me; the two dominant colors of white and dark turquoise are attention-getting, but not gaudy. Gold detailing finishes out the design. The Roman Loincloth is a surprisingly effective choice. I've never had any success with it, as it's usually too bulky for my taste, but here, that bulkiness is balanced by the New Centurion's own thickness. This is also the case with the waist wrap on the 1P. Back to the 2P, the phoenix sticker adds shape and detail to the loincloth. It's one of my favorite features of this design. I'm not really sure what's going on with her eyebrows. They look drawn-on via sharpie, but I'm sure they're not that noticeable in a match.

It's too bad this round didn't get as many participants as usual. I think this could be the easiest round to come up with a design for.

The fact that it apparently only offended someone Scottish means it failed, I was hoping it'd be offensive to Irish, English, and Welsh as well :(

Also, shouldn't they be turning my innards to haggis instead of using them as a tool of murder?

...And now I'm tempted to revive the character, but use accessories to also give him bad teeth. Sounds right at least >:D
