Japanese offical artbook & guide .. Cassandra, Korean, Setsuka, side story

*sigh* and THIS is why they need to put this crap IN GAME. Now the majority of their audience is going to left scratching their heads. I'm also irritated in the fact that they decide to release info on who Xiba is AFTER THE GAME'S RELEASE. Though enlightening, THIS WAS STILL POORLY EXECUTED!!!

Gah! *tableflips and walks out.*
^ This 100 times over

Mitsurugi, as requested by Luneth22:
+ During the years Mitsurugi's been retired, a crapload of cheap imitators have cropped up claiming to be him. Mitsurugi seems mildly annoyed at this.
+ Mitsurugi has heard of his "brother". His thoughts on the matter? "There are many strange people coming up these days".
+ A general of the Ryukyu Kingdom is trying to contact Mitsurugi to hire him, as he feels conflict with the Satsuma Domain is soon to break out (which it will do...if it follows real life history). He's trying to get in touch with his "brother" in order to get info on the man himself.

About time this man had some character development and different motives, but something tells me there is a chance that Maxi may or may not be his brother. Ironic that Ryukyu Kingdom is involved even though historically Ryukyu Kingdom and the rest of Japan were in conflict at the time.

Astaroth and Voldo, as requested by jtdam09:
+ The mass produced Astaroth have an incomplete version of the original's fighting style, so they have been send over the west in order to gain fighting experience.
+ As a result of the above, they are indiscriminately attacking and raiding the Ottoman Empire, Kingdom of Hungary and Duchy of Transylvania.
+ Kunpaetku's body is now half-golem (with him, Toki and Arahabaki we are gathering quite a gauntlet of boss-style monster types, it seems). He's also renovated the arc priests in order to restore all the cult's lost techniques and technology lost during Astaroth's rampage.
+ There's little info on Voldo, though. The reason why Voldo returned to Soul Edge is because, in his confused mind, the image of Vercci and the sword has become vague enough that he can't distinguish between them anymore. Basically, in his mind Vercci and Soul Edge are one and the same.

Thank you for the information. I suggested it because I wanted to create some story ideas for these two.

5. Li Long's son: His name is Riki. He's now part of the Fu-Ma's demon sealing team and a sort of brother figure to Natsu.
It's official. He will be named RIKI.

MWAHAHAHAHA!!!!

*changes one of the creation's names*

Sorry if this was addressed already, but is there any more info on Amy? Besides that she's M.I.A and that Raph is searching for her and her typical SCII back story? Also, anything new on Viola besides what you've already posted? Thanks a bunch!

Does it go into any detail about how Kunpaetku went from being "killed" by Maxi to having a part golem body?

Unfortunately, no. Kunpaetku rsurfaced to reclaim the cult's leadership already in this shape, it seems.

I forget, but what happened to Rock (and bangoo) again? Was the part translated yet? (>*.*)?

The artbook doesn't seems to have any mention of either, not even in the charts. Much like Talim, Zas and the korean trio (who are only obliquely referenced and not even by name).

Nothing else on Amy thus far. I know there's one of those blue "Note" squares in Raphael's section, but the scan I have seen is not clear enough for reading/translating (though don't hold your breath, it's very likely just a resume of her 2/3/4 backstory with little (if any) new revelations or info)

As far as Viola goes...nothing really interesting. She apparently was taught to read the stars by a group of travelers in pilgrimage

Oh ok. Thank you for doing all this again! You've been really helpful in our endeavor to fill what Project Soul should've already given us. :/ I think I've seen a scan of the blue box with Amy that's pretty clear somewhere. I'll search for it.

EDIT: Here it is! You have to zoom in to see the text, though. It looks pretty clear to me, although I'm not sure if you'll fare well with it. http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120304155214/soulcalibur/images/4/49/IMG_0108.jpg

Rock... Talim... Zas... have no info in the book. And there's only a small snippet of the Koreans in the artbook.. Hmmm...
(>*0*) It's a conspiracy! Project Soul hates low tiers!

On another note, are there stage descriptions in the artbook? Like some details on that coliseum stage of Mitsu/Xiba or Denever Castle? Or Elysium stage, Utopia of the Blessed? Thanks again Tuzark! (>^.^)>

Hi there!
This has so much so thank you!
I'm still a little lost about Xianghua and Kilik though. Some are mad that he left, but I doubt either knew she was pregnant. He also left her his pendant like Xianghua's father left the sword for her mother. Maybe he felt he was making a sacrifice to leave and be able to protect her and the rest of the world should the time come as the new Edgemaster? Also, if he left her his pendant, how did her son get it to give to Leixia? And why did Xianghua panic like she did? Any thoughts? Thank you for your time!!

The kanji may take me some trouble to decipher, but I can give it a shot when I can sit down and get to it.

Yes, stages have a small snipped of info in the guide too. The few I remember for example, the Godaido Temple (Natsu's stage, english name escapes me) having a statue of demon-Toki as a reminder of the Fuma's time of crisis and the Torture Chamber serving Dumas as his "interrogations' room", as Dumas is a fan of people ratting out malfested (whether they are actually infected or not) after a good ol' torture session. Stuff like that.

Happy to help, as always.

1. As far as I know, Kilik has no idea he has a son and Xianghua realized only after she returned to Ming, long after Kilik left her. Now, if Maxi even knows... (Edgemaster does know, but if he told him or not I don't know.)
2. Leixia's bio in the site actually states Kilik "betrayed" Xianghua as a "sacrifice" he took to go on in his "path of solitude" in order to protect her/the world and let her have a normal life, and that Xianghua unknowingly did the same "betrayal" to protect Leixia when she attempted to force her to marry the Emperor instead of letting her go on adventuring.
3. Xianghua dropped the pendant in some river some time after returning to Ming and abandoned her traveling days ("say goodbye to her destiny"), the pendant was found by Leixin by pure chance, and it's treated as if that destiny has came back to ruin her daughter. ("But now that “destiny” from which she moved away, it has come to visit her daughter instead of her").
4. From the above, Xianghua suffered a lot due to Kilik's decision of leaving her behind after having vowed eternal love for each other and promised to stay together. She was heartbroken enough to renounce to her destiny, something that has carried her along and motivated her entire life (her mother's dying words, specifically). She's afraid her daughter will suffer and go through the same ordeal as her mother and herself have went through, and thus decides to "betray" her promise of traveling together and to spare her such destiny. In the end, her actions only end backfiring on her as Leixia escapes home, something no one actually expected to happen.

Man, this whole ordeal with Kilik, Xianghua, Xiba, and Leixia gets more drama filled doesn't it? All this talk about betrayal, love, and destiny, you would've thought this had all the makings of a soap opera or a tragic shakespeare play. I know Kilik had a quest to fulfill and that he didn't want Xianghua to get hurt but I get the feeling there is going to be some resentment between Kilik and Xianghua as well as Xianghua and Leixia about the whole destiny angle. This part of the storyline just makes me somewhat sad and wished that there would've been a different scenario for them. I bet you Project Soul wanted Kilik and Xianghua to remain together but also remembered that Kilik was some sort of tragic hero and went with that instead.

I know right! Don't you just love it!

A part of me does and a part of me doesn't. There's so many loose ends and twists to this story that would drive anyone crazy. It just makes my spirit cringe having to go through and read and speculate about these four. I think Kilik did care for Xianghua and didn't want her to get hurt but knowing about his past, he rather be a heroic martyr, which is noble but also a way of saying "I don't want to live anymore". I also think that Xianghua really loved Kilik and wanted to be with him but it just makes me mad at the way Kilik left her. If Kilik can't accomplish his mission on his own, then what? Without Xianghua, I think Kilik won't be able to get through his mission, even now. Not to mention Xianghua's current situation, I think she didn't want to get hitched. As for Xiba and Leixia, I think that when it is revealed to the both of them that they are siblings, there's going to be a lot of confusion and surprise. It hasn't happened yet but I'm sure it will lead to more questions. I think Xiba may end up following in Kilik's footsteps if he isn't careful and Leixia may ask a lot of questions to Xianghua regarding Kilik, and why she would mention him in her stories about her travels. Is there something we should look into? Could there be a secret that needs to be unraveled? If there is, will it lead to Leixia drifting away from Xianghua and looking towards Kilik? Maybe, maybe not. But I believe there needs to be some closure with these four. Either as a family or something else.

P.S. Sorry for the long rant but those are my views about Kilik, Xianghua, Leixia, and Xiba
