Stop complaining about the story, dammit!
The story's great, and we'd like it much more if we get to know what actually happened to all the characters in SCV.
No! I'll continue to bitch about the story that actually tells a story instead of hammering me with walls of text! My favorite character wasn't in the story so it's bad by default because my favorite character didn't appear! /sarcasm

I bet someone is going to come in here and say that though.

You better have put that sarcasm part in there. LMFAO!

Before I read sarcasm I was thinking "grl you need to shut the FUCK UP about your character not being in" but then I was like "But I thought Solo could care less about characters" and then I was like "oh."

I for one dont like the root the series took here. IMO they need to add more darker themes to it like it used to be in 4 and 3. I mean the game USED to be about souls, hell and the dead as the threat to the worlf. Now all of a sudden everything is all happy-go-lucky boring to me. The only aspect of SC5 I liked was Pyrha being the darkness SC had burt was poorly handled and shouldn't have been resolved so fast. Cervantes being human ruined his character for me, making him human takes away his character and leaves us with a horribly generic swap. Zwei is the stain of the series to me and I wish he was removed altogether.. I just hate everything about him. I just generally feel SC5 has too maany "good guys" and not enough possible villains or threats like what SC3 had. I miss SC3's atmosphere.

Well my ideas for Natsu and Xiba have them as villains at least. Yoshimitsu as a neutral. ^_^

I do agree on the more dark atmosphere, especially in contrast to the characters themselves, but I also loved Soul Edge which wasn't dark at all, but a little more .....I wouldn't say Medieval or Gothic, but it was heroic in some aspect.

SC3 had the tone moderate, it was a heavily spiritual-based game, where as SC4 made it slightly gothic.
Xiba and Natsu villains? Not likely. I suggested before that ZWEI and Viola should be evil (before they turn good) seems to fit their mysteriousness much better. Viola a cursed fortune teller with her servant ZWEI. (who IMO should turn into a wolf like in bloody roar rather then have a persona.) Yoshimitsu should be the confusing guy you ask who's side he is one like he was in SC2.

Well, Xiba and Natsu containing "demons", or crazy genes in Xiba's case, should serve of some importance rather than having it as something to note in their history and then letting it cross everyone's minds. Plus it gives excellent character development for that whole group if it does happen. Something that could actually make for a great storyline for them, especially for Xiba and Leixia, and PS wouldn't have to resort to "Journey to the West" as a primary source.

While I think the cursed fortune teller idea for Viola is interesting, I strongly disagree about the wolf idea for Z.W.E.I.. Of course that's because I don't like the wolf altogether, but that's just me.

Hm back to the Lexia thing...I think she's pretty serious after all look at one of her quotes "We can talk afterwords, come on lets fight"( or something like that). Either that or she's just spunky xD Just cus your a serious character doesnt mean you have to talk with a semi constipated face ( cough Siegfried,Taki,Kilik cough)

Well, now that jtdam09 mentioned it, I would like to see Xiba and Natsu as villains. That would give Leixia at least something to do other than just see the world as sunshine and rainbows. And while on the subject, I think Leixia should look to Kilik for help on what to do as far as purifying abilities are concerned, since Kilik once had the Dvapara Yuga.

Viola and ZWEI, I think they should be neutral because you're not sure which side they're on. Their mannerisms and quotes should keep you guessing.

Yoshimitsu should be one of the good guys, since he is a chivalrous thief and kinda fits in the mold of Robin Hood.

I don't know what character Cervantes really had left to ruin at this point, although making him human did make him completely fucking irrelevant to everything that was going on.

Really, what is Cervantes? As a zombie, he's never even gotten close to reclaiming his old power canonically, Nightmare couldn't give less of a shit what he's up to, and the only character all that concerned with what the guy does is Ivy. He's her grudge-match slot. That's literally his only worthwhile contribution to the series post-death. Frankly, I think that he, Mitsu, and Voldo have got to go from a storyline perspective, because all they can do is go through the motions they've been stuck in for most of the series now and never do anything interesting. Shura's a popular character, and at this point it makes more sense narratively for HER to have Cervantes' movelist than it does for completely-normal-human Cervantes to! Grandfather-clauseing all these characters in really hurts the credibility of the timeskip; I don't think anyone really gave a crap that Voldo was exactly the same 17 years later as he was in 4, or that people wanted to see his infinite loop of trying and failing to steal Soul Edge continue if it meant we never even found out what happened to Talim or Zasalamel or one of those people who didn't make the cut because they weren't in the first game. If they had the balls to kill off Sophitia, some more of the old guys have got to go and be replaced.

I do agree that SCV had too many heroes, though. I don't agree that there's any need to grimdark things up, since Pyrrha's storyline was incredibly dark and Patrokolos isn't exactly mr admirable hero himself, but I do think a stronger villainous presence in the cast is needed, particularly Zasalamel returning. I dunno, maybe give Tira and Nightmare some hangers-on if you need to add some more evil characters.

As for ZWEI, I tolerated him because I assume he's an extension of the Shamanic magic Talim is known to possess in a different form. If we knew literally ANYTHING about him, though, it'd help his cause a lot.

Lol you're whining about the story and you don't even know anything it. Voldo never tried to steal Soul Edge, he has always served it. Also bonus characters don't have anything to do with story so why do you want to bring her back? Only reason people liked her was because she didn't know how to cover her ass.

To me the "Gothic" feeling in SC 4 was amazing
Z.W.E.I Viola servant??????? |_____| not in a million of year , yah he should become a wolf then he would be a true werewolf

Actually Solo Voldo was after Soul Edge until 3, in 4 he was lured to serve.

The best Cervantes has ever "looked" and mattered is Soul Edge, personally.

He looked amazing there, even as human.

Since Nightmare came into the picture, he's just there, being a stereotypical pirate, especially on SCV. I'm surprised he doesn't speak it yet.

While I like Shura's design, apparently girls can't replace guys in fighting games. Frost for example.

Voldo in Soul Edge: "Gonna get me that Soul Edge to complete Master's Collection!"
Voldo in SC1: "Setbacks are a part of life. THIS time, Soul Edge is goin' in the Money pit!" =D
Voldo in SC2: "OK, so that was the wrong sword. Don't worry, master, I won't screw up again! Soul Edge will be yours!"
Voldo in SC3: "You know, I'm really fucking old. I should probably get an apprentice or something...right after I steal Soul Edge!"
Voldo in SC4: "To get Soul Edge, I must enter Nightmare's service until I can steal it. He'll never see me coming THIS time!"
Voldo in SC5: "I am malfested and willingly serve Soul Edge! lol, jk. Bonus materials reveal I'm not malfested and still just trying to steal it!"

What a gripping character arc!

Also, I'm not saying Shura is such a great character, but stupid voodoo pirate who's got superpowers despite losing every reason he has them and no interest at all in the main plot is stupid. If he's only in here because of his fighting style, then give it to somebody else and let the character DIE.

About the Voldo thing, I just like poking fun here. For Cervy, he has always annoyed me. If he was replaced people would bitch just like everyone else did because they can't let go of their nostalgia.

Oh, sorry, I misread your tone. My bad.

To be honest, I agree with that, but it shouldn't be right. Nostaliga filtering characters to make them lurch along way after their usefulness to the game is at an end isn't good. Mitsurugi being in the games because he's always in the games is dumb once his reason for being a character is "there's nothing good on TV." Is it really worth the nostalgia if the character exists purely to wave to the camera and feel really out of place with what's going on?
