Dampierre Q&A / General Discussion

You're completely right about this. I forgot to mention it.

I actually always thought that move was inspired by Mr 2 aka Bon Clay from the Japanese manga/anime series One Piece.

Oh god my sides xD! I never seem to land on my feet from Damp's side throw maybe the opponent is counter mashing against me (that scoundrel!)

yes this too can happen, the opponent can counter mash and you may not land on your feet.

Here's the pic that reminded me of 22K, the photo I took wasn't too clear, plus people were in the way passing by, so I searched the image instead

Does PB K just randomly not stun? I'm noticing it seems to be happening to me a lot lately. I know if it causes a persona shift on Tira she won't be stunned, but sometimes it seems like the stun just does not occur for no discernable reason.

Could be related to the opponent teching. Lots of stun moves that tech trap into themselves won't stun a second time, like Yoshi's 8A+B2.

You could try 623B~WRK~1B I use that a few times but from that I use the standard Damp Combos ( PB FTW!!!!)
Yeah I use 623k~wrk~1kb and 623b~6b~1b, and when I just want to mess with people 623b~wra+b (unblockable) they usually just stand up into it. And slade by Srk im assuming u meen 623 (shoryuken), am I right?

Mayuri!!! Hello!!

There's nothing wrong with the combos you're using, but I do strongly advise to learn to master or be as highly consistent with B!E! as you possibly can.

1. Better damage option in combos
2. If you screw up and your opponent is dumb, you have your PB K option
3. Punishment, i18 B!E! is useful as a punish against certain moves, Tira's JS 66AA (I think) is -20, I see this common move especially online so many times, I use B!E! to punish it for meaty damage topped off with a 4B finish

Bear in mind also, good players will correctly tech or lay still against 1K FP B, so don't rely too heavily on that combo.

Refer to the combo thread, you can compare the damage and you'll see the kinds of damage opportunity you're missing out on.

Have fun with your Dampierre endeavours!!

is 4B really guaranteed after B!E!? because of the last three times i landed th JFs completely i got 6B, BT6 and plain B, i dont know how.

Or does it need some kind of timing after the kicks and not just mashing for 4B until the animation appears?

I've been getting this too, and I'm not sure what causes it. 4B is definitely guaranteed after B!E!, although sometimes it can be air controlled (not sure what causes this) and sometimes it can results in 6B/other random moves coming out. When I played Oofmatic he never had any of these issues, so there must be some trick to it that I'm not aware of.

I think it mainly depends if on whether the opponent's character is off axis when B!E! takes them up. To stop them from AC'ing I usually delay the 4B a bit to ensure that it hits "deep". As for 6B coming out, that usually happens when you B!E! them in front of a wall, and the wall throws things off. If you know when this will happen, press 6B instead and 4B will come out.

It seems that against Voldo in his back stance, 4B has a lot off whiffing issues after B!E!.

I was doing 11B → B!E! → 4B against Mitsu on an infinite stage and I was consistently getting 6B instead of 4B. I thought it might have been a camera issue and tried substituting the 4B with a 6B input but that just resulted in getting BT B.

I have a theory that it might be caused by delaying the early kicks in B!E!, which might result in launching them too far over Damp's head. I never had the 6B problem when I mashed B!E! but now that I time it it happens quite often.
I'm thinking I might just need to mash the first 2 hits of B!E! and time the rest.

BTW: is the timing of the last JF kick different than the other ones? because today i got the first seven three times in a row but not the complete JF on the whole day, and if it is, is it earlier or later than the other ones?

The window on all the JFs is incredibly lenient up until the last 2 or 3 kicks, which are the hardest part of B!E!.

B!E! is still probably the best option in his combos though, because even if you drop the last few kicks and lose 40-50 damage, it still does more damage than other options like 44BKBK.

Plus it lets you use Le Bello's patented Antigravity Belt.
