Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate

It's a game. It's known for its loli characters and amazing music. And the fact that it's fucking impossible to beat.

Well, I'd say it's known for its hats and amazing music, but we are here to discuss big breasted women and manly men kicking the sh*t out of each other, so...

Anyone know if there's a combo list out there for characters?

go to free step dodge website. it has some helpful combos.

just played a tourney at WNF. yeah. the same place where those SC5 tourneys were held.

the stream only showed the final 3. so...
i'm there. :D a surprise guest made it too. Kat. she's been like the Kayane of DOA. she's been with broadcast and keeping up with the game ever since it was released to the public so it was nice to see her there. 8+ people managed to show up for the DOA tourney so there will be another next week. maybe you SoCal guys can make it out. that'd be awesome.

Don't understand why that chick let you throw out fifty-thousand low-counters.
she was too busy trying to get off more stuns. :P

I don't know. i threw out low counters to get out of her stun strings. she never caught on. then again none of us played anywhere near as good on stream as we were off stream. everyone there agrees on that.

Don't want to keep talking about how silly it was but he did a low counter just about every time and she did PP just about every time - that's why I said it. Would think differently if maybe he was throwing out mid counters but she basically let him get out of any pressure she could get.

On the plus side, I was wondering when you two would start throwing...and then you threw the shit out of her. Sometimes people tend to forget that part of the reason you can't just stand pointblank and block is because of throws and you have to remind them.

Hopefully get more time to put into this game. Don't think I'll study it like I do BlazBlue and SC but I'll definitely play and, if there's an event and I feel halfway decent, I'll join up! Luckily, seems yomi is a huge factor in DoA and I'm pretty good at making reads.

Yeah, I really only play Hawkeye offline and don't know any of these strings but I'll probably go ahead and play at NEC...maybe this weekend and at Youmacon too...though I haven't touched the game since last week.

I presume you're talking to under x? I've had him on ignore in this thread and it's just so much more easy on the eyes. As for FSD, no, he threw a ruckus over there just like he is here, then he left the site because we were 'being mean' and claimed I am 'a bigot who doesn't know how to run a community and shouldn't be in charge of it'. When he pissed off Team NINJA on their facebook he even made the claim that FSD was running Team NINJA's facebook.

Yeah, no, FSD won't be more open to his perspectives... because he's not open to anyone's perspectives.

Really, you, open minded lol !!

I went to FSD with love, I made thread for A feature I wanted. But like every DOA site before FSD and apparently even this Thread that I made lol is overrun by people who expect you to talk about what they want to talk about. And when you don't they give you shit.

Come on DOA community, you and this game will never evolve if you keep telling people what to say and how to feel! Just let people be. If you did not want customization you could have just said so and moved to another thread and allowed me to talk about what I wanted to talk about. But you have this need to control people, and or shut them down if they are saying something "you" dont want to hear, or agree with... It's unhealthy!

You guys think your helping the community - But actually your hurting it. Let people think and feel whatever they want! Its that simple! And I dont hate DOA 5 - but I like to vent about some of the games problem every now and than! This should be a place for that, but I guess only postie remarks are "welcome" here?

Seriously ?! Thats fucken weak!

Nice fights dude! Always fun to watch some DOA5 streams. I think you should change your username from "Vincent Rayne" to "Morpheus" now, because from now on when I read your posts, I'll be reading them in Morpheus' voice.
"W... What is Kayane doing?!"
"She is beginning to believe."

Well- how was your attitude?

A user, goes by "Stikku", disagrees with the viewpoint of most of the site, gets into some fights with the members. Doesn't like the way DOA5 is going and others chastise him for it.

He made a topic talking about customization (color edits specifically), didn't attack anyone, provided some mockups of what things would look like with a couple of sets of edited pictures. It was pretty agreeable and there wasn't any fighting in that topic. I think it was more productive than "voicing complaints".

When you say, "let people think and feel whatever they want", you've gotta do that too for others. People are gonna disagree with you, people aren't gonna be accommodating. And that's OK. You present your argument, people say "no", you might try to flesh it out once or twice but I mean, that's it. If people don't agree people don't agree.

You can't antagonize people for having different viewpoints. Even if they antagonize you for it, just leave them alone.

And- I didn't like that they released SCV early. I didn't like that characters didn't come back from IV and I didn't like that SCIII's tutorial mode seemed to have vanished completely. But, I didn't complain about it. 'cause, what would that do? It's a giant circlejerk, you sit around and talk about what could be, and nothing ever actually happens.

or, rather, what could happen, is onlookers could see how negative you're being about the game, and get the wrong idea. Word of mouth is a powerful thing (oh god, SCV knows that).

If you really wanted to change the game, well, I would try to get into contact with Team Ninja. Forum dudes probably can't do much for you.

So I get that maybe you're being super careful here, but that Kokoro play against Mysticgunn was... crappy.

No launcher attempts, few guaranteed strings, no 46PP or 33PP/22PP. No 236P, 8P6P and variant mix-ups. And you used the weakest Heichu stance transitions. I'm surprised you got away with that kind of play.

That said... I'd be a nervous wreck in that fight. I'd end up mashing PPP and pressing 6P6P too much. And somehow, even if I were to play that crappy, I'd probably lose anyway. So kudos for making Kokoro play look bad and getting away with it. =)

Although Vincent's match with Kat wasn't necessarily "flashy" per se, he did get the job done didn't he? I saw him more of "playing his opponent" instead of going for flashy shit. He noticed things that she was not really answering properly, such as the low counters and "2H+K" (the low kicks) move variations and exploited them. Focusing on using moves that aren't necessary for the task at hand can be a bit of a wrong approach to take because the object of the match is to seek out weaknesses and exploit them instead of having the most technically sound Kokoro.

He did acknowledge earlier that he played better off-stream to be fair.

That chick is just my type... hope you snatched her up after that match. I would marry her on the spot. BTW I already mentioned long ago that Vincent doesn't play for flash, he is solid at his head games and baiting and spacing and crap. Just hard to beat. And in this game you only really need to be good at that to win, since complex combos can be countered.
