Aeon General Discussion / Q&A

In the future if you could use the notations instead of the move names, I'd appreciate it because I wouldn't have to open the wiki to see what move you mean.

SW BE has its uses, mainly in anti-roll or no-tech situations. If you land a ground hit 66B and the opponent keeps trying to roll, the BE will catch them and ground stun for a SW K followup. You can also set up similar situations off 1B BE, 33K, 1A, and tip hit 8B+K. I'll admit it's not a move I experimented too much in depth with, although I'm working on trying out a particular setup in match play so I can gauge how effective it is.

Found something cool in training. After you use SW BE cancel, you can delay your next attack until the very last moment before Aeon lands. All the way after he goes to the other side of your opponent and does that 360 in the air. The next fireball also comes out quite fast from there.

You know how people usually wait for you to land for a punish? I think it's possible to mess them up with this.
Anyway, cool mind games I'm gonna try out.

Out of curiosity, does SW BE have similar properties to the fire breath in Aeon's CE? It looks like they cause a similar crumple effect if they hit a standing opponent. If so, I wonder if it's possible to replicate the CE's glitched stun state with the BE.

Yes, I believe you can do Tech-roll JG and JG on SWbe.

No, I was talking about that weird stun state that lets you get a full combo after the CE (like if they ukemi during 4A>CE).

Like I said, it doesn't apply to SW BE.

Edit : And I wouldn't worry too much about getting your Flamethrower JG'd. I find it to be extremely situational and ridiculously hard to do. You're not gonna see this happen in competitive play. And add that to the fact that the use of Aeon's CE should be very situational too.

In most situations the CE is used there's no extra risk in going for the ukemi JG. However, this is one of those things that you can only get 1/20~50 times in training. Like Reptile said, under match pressure it just isn't going to happen.

Ah ok, thanks. I thought you were talking about the JG thing at first. And yeah, I'm more worried about being punished on hit for it than being JG'd. I only use it for closing out matches or as a ghetto frame trap/punisher though so that shouldn't be too much of a problem.

At this point I just use it to impress new players.

"Dude, check this out"

*Dragon Stuff*

"ZZZZZOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMGGGGG AEEONS TEH BEEEEESSSSSTTTTTT!"

Also, I remember reading that you should rely more on throw/mid mixup than low/mid. This right?

663B is the ultimate option post GI if you're expecting a reGI. Probably among the best in the game, giving a free 97 DMG meterless, it might even be the very best one. Damn Aeon Y u so good?

Best stepkill, best RO, best GI, best BE, (one of the) best backstep, best command throw (Reptile Rumble > everything)...and people still think Aeon is low tier. SMH

And yeah, Aeon's lows aren't very scary + he has high damage throws so throw/mid mixups have worked better for me. In my experience 3A and WR AB offer some of the juiciest ones at that.

Surely you would prefer Aeon to stay perceived as low tier so when you win you get more praise? Lol I know I would.

While it is pretty damn good, I don't think its the best. The best I think would be with Viola: SET 6B+K. 6B. 3B and so on. Meterless, she does 108 damage.

Definitely not the best command throw. Asta's 63214:B+G>>>>>>Aeon's.
