Ideas for new characters?

I remember when the focus of the game was about the two swords, the characters and their unique weapons they used and the pseudo-historical vibe they had going on with the first three games (I personally think SoulCal 3 was more Final Fantasy-like).
Then SCIV and SCV took the more darker yet fantasy route. Soul Calibur 3 for me didn't feel all too Final Fantasy like.

I guess it would be much better, choose a characters and not make a guest of him and yes a character based on his style, just think how cool would be have something like what they did with Kratos.

As long as we're talking guest characters, how about another that Bamco actually owns the rights for and wouldn't be too out of place? Like someone from one of those Tales games(inb4 reminders of that abomination that was made for the Wii). If they could work Yohismitsu in as a permanent part of the story, I don't see why they couldn't do the same to another character.

I didn't want a big crossover between SC and MK, just a guest character trade. Shang on SC, and Algol on MK. I think everyone would be fine with that. It's plausible, entirely. It just depends on whether or not Ed Boon is as stuck up as I think he is.

By the way, for all the people suggesting guest characters (Steampunk Inquisitor..) I don't think we should just randomly say "I like this character, so put it in". I think Krystal Fox, Mario, and Nathan Drake would be awesome guest characters, but to other people it's a dumb idea, and it isn't going to happen either.
Shang Tsung really wouldn't work. Why? A few reasons: He doesn't have a weapon, the game he is from is too "mature" for SC's taste (that didn't stop Kratos from being in SC, even though Shang Tsung has been in a crossover before and people got salty over the lack of gore and blood in it). Characters like Kitana, Mileena, Jade, and the two guy "overrated-as-hell" ninjas actually make more sense than he does.

4. I am completely aware that it doesn't make sense, but I like steampunks characters :D And, you must admit it, a guy coming back from the victorian era isn't really shocking: we've got swords with spirits, a flying fire-breathing lizard, a guy floating mid-ait shooting bubbles, a golem, people who don't age (and with back-breaking boobs), a vampire ghost, two people with deformed arms, a mechanical ninja,
And that isn't steampunk-inspired, I don't know what is. Must be because of the attire. That he isn't Victorian era 19th century-inspired, which steampunk is defined.

I'm not trying to knock the steampunk character idea. Just the plural form "steampunk characters" I would disagree with, and the definition of it. Seems you want the Victorian eraIn my personal opinion, I would limit to at least one (which I feel that Yoshimitsu falls under it anyways), with an attire and background relating to something more historically-influenced. I guess it's because I am a Soul Blade fan aestheically that I think like this.

But most of what you did mention all have reason to it: Soul Edge (the reason of many things magical and evil, and Soul Calibur even existing), Astral Chaos, Alchemy (but Ivy was born with Soul Edge in her blood too), and in Taki's case, Ninja abilities (even though Soul Edge gave her an upgrade).

[without even mentioning three time travellers (Heihachi, Ezio, Spawn) and galaxy travellers (am I the only one who like both Vader and Starkiller?)
I'm thinking these are non-canon. They are all there to have the guest characters be in the game. They just needed a storyline.

Guest characters are fine. All of this is the way PS better promotes the installments. It's a matter of fitting them in with the rest of the characters in gameplay. We'll know that they are all non-canon to the actual storyline anyways. Only two that are canon are Ashlotte, and Necrid, guest characters, but not crossover characters.

Link was nice, we don't need any more Nintendo characters.

If another guest character were to appear in 6, then it would have to be somebody who actually fits in the game. This means no Master Chief (Whatever that green guy's name is), Lightning (FFXIII) or Sora (Kingdom Hearts).

The only reason why I accept Ezio is because he actually fits in the game.

Shang Tsung could fit even without a weapon. Remember he has magic, you could say Viola doesn't have a weapon... but she has an orb... You could say Algol doesn't have a weapon... but he has... things...

Bottom line, Shang Tsung wouldn't need weapons to fit in, he has magic skulls and teleportation, ontop of that he can soul steal and become any other character. As for the gore thing, yeah, you're thinking of MK vs DC, which was a complete disaster for many other reasons. Again, I'm not looking for a crossover, just a single guest character from the MK universe. AND ANYONE but Scorpion or Scrub Hero.

I would like a claw user (like Viola's claw) that did the same amount of damage that she does (not extremely long combos though and different from Voldo, plus no orb.) He/She would resemble an outfit close or similar to Xiba like a tiger. Moves would involves slashes that are fast like Setsuka and mixups.

And again, going back to what I said about Shang Tsung in MK:DA, he had a weapon, the Chinese sword but it really wouldn't matter since that style is already in the game. I like the idea of having Shang Tsung in SC. Besides, SC is leaning towards the fantasy and magic angle instead of the whole pseudo history vibe from the beginning (it's still there if you can see it). We already have Soul Edge and Soul Calibur that are mystical weapons, Z.W.E.I., Viola, Elysium, etc., so why not have him there. Can you imagine Shang Tsung going up against Cervantes, Zasalamel, Viola, Z.W.E.I., Kilik, Maxi, Mitsurugi, Xianghua, and Leixia? Those matches would be epic.

Shang Tsung?
Shang Tsung?
Shang Tsung?
Shang Tsung?

Okay, if that doesn't work out for a guest character, maybe Project Soul should hit up Marvel. Thor fits right in with the rest of the cast plus the series really doesn't have a viking character or someone from Scandinavia.

As it says on my sign, i really would like a character that had the movesets of all the guests that have been in the series (obviously im not talking about angol fear and does guests, but like ezio, yoda, Link, etc.). In my opinion the character would be really good for the players because it would allow people to main guests without having the fear of their character not appearing in the next game, he would be called the guest master.
