Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate

Okay, that's good to know. I wish PSN would give a free trial of it. That way I could know. :(

It does if you have a new copy of the game and download the Online Registration DLC. I forget the real name of it though. It basically gives you the code in the new game for free, but if you haven't played the game before then you get a 48 hour trial for online play.

Yeah, but I was planning to buy the digital version. It dont have the same thing, does it?

For those who are wary of DOA tag, the recent patch really brings it closer to what it once was. Here's probably my favorite combo videos done by none-other than the French DOA players of 2002. keep in mind they are playing in a game that has it's max life at 240 points unlike DOA5 which is 270.

Hi Again DOAers! I have another questioon. :( Then I'm gonna get this game. Lol.

People say the netcode is bad/was, is there still problems with lag or did they fix it? (PS3)

Also, isnt there supposed to be a patch today?

My final question(s) then I shall be getting it. :)
Thank you!

In all honesty, the netcode is perfectly fine if you play people in 4 or 5 bars. Obviously 1 or 2 bars should be avoided, and it's only the 3 bar matches that can be a little iffy. I can still play in 3 bars, but it won't exactly be representative of offline play at all. In other words, if you're mostly going to be playing people that are 4+, and aren't online douchebags, you'll be perfectly fine. Patch 1.03A just became available on PS3 (patches usually appear on Monday's or Tuesdays).

I can tell you as of now that your reservations on this game can be put to rest. No matter how you look at it, DOA5 is solid and is well worth the price of admission all things considered.

What I do find ironic is people asking for long combos and guaranteed damage, now that it has been implemented in what honestly has been a viable competitive version of the game for over a decade, people are like "WTF?! That's too much damage off one guess!".

:(
People forget that for tag, those combos are only doing about 40-50% damage of the total life.

Liking the changes to wake-up kicks making them lost out to attacks with more active frames. Gives the game more bit of a vortex game outside of force techs.

Best of luck. I'm sure if you tell people what kind of characters you generally like to play they'll probably have about a dozen different suggestions for you. :D
Haha thankies. Im not really sure what I'll pick though, this will be my first DoA game. But Of course I'm sure I'll find someone. =) Idk I guess Im mostly into like Zoners/rushdowns. Either or.

Finally went back to the lab (a.k.a. went to collect command training titles), and I've hit an annoying snag on a few characters, one more annoying than others: Sarah's JF kicks. Are there any tricks people have for nailing them JFs, or is it not that good a move to use in the first place?

Also, now that I've tried him in command training... I'm kind of digging Bayman. He and Tina seem to strike a nice balance between speed, power, and grappling. Any good tourney players I can watch for tips?

That said, I really like the feel of 1.03A (said the casual).
