α Patroklos General Discussion/ Q&A

It's still decent. Just that, most of the time, he has other stuff that can be used in its place.

so how many hours did it take you to even pull out a single JF when you first started playing Soul Calibur? It took me about 80 hours just for basic Jfs. Another 30 for Reverse Pheasant. The Rest for Twister.

Took me about 10min to get fc b : b and a : g : B going, then weeks/months for JFT, same for 1 a : a : a and I pretty much recently learned how to 1 b : b consistently after 3-4 months

Ahh, I felt like i was the only who had to put in Months of Training to do this lol It look like everyone one else could do it perfectly online to me. I actually have Jf Twister down pretty darn well. After someone pointed out a that one detail i missed lol

If you ask me: as long as your JFT is reliable along with fc 3 b : b and the timings/buffering for combos, you're good to go as Alpha. The other jfs makes a great plus though ^^

I've practiced them all excessively, and Still practice them excessively, due to trying to gain battle experience in real time using them. I can do them all, but not perfectly. I'll Continue to invest in training. My Alpha is somewhat decent.

But what you say is so true.

The road to successfully master alphas jfs and matchup knowledge is long and painful, BUT it will be worth your time, that I can definitly promise.

Is aPat worth learning if I suck at the general game?
I generally pick styles that suit me aesthetically and by attitude, as well as I generally play CaS from my RPG characters. The style seems interesting and fitting for one of my favourite characters and as I understand aPat is #1 in the tier list, but at the same time I get my ass kicked no matter who I play currently.

I'd say no. He's not the kinda character you wanna "start" at being good at versus others. But then again, you gotta start somewhere. I guess I'm trying to say: either dedicate your soul to alpha or you could just learn the game a bit more with an easier character, try Mitsurugi or Patroklos for example.

I started with Natsu and people say I'm talented despite the six weeks total I've been putting into her. I'm in love with Leixia's style, going on two weeks with her and been trying Pyrrha for a few days. Those three are in fact my loves from the old SC1-2 arcade days, though Pyrrha is not Sophitia and Natsu is not Taki.
I'm maining Leixia now and not giving up on her anytime, anyday anyway. :) <3

I don't think he's a good place to start. Understanding the game and a lot of the other characters and their tools will help you understand him much better, then you should play him. Only my opinion though.
You know I put a lot of stock to your opinion to begin with, so as you say.
I do still wait for you to add me on psn though, so we can train sometime.

Natsu, Pyrrha and Leixia are all good starter characters as well as tournament-able. Study your matchups a bit more, know what you can dodge, just guard, crouch/tech crouch, see what moves/attacks works best for 1 specific character you're facing and what not. You'll at some point see that you know all these tricks now and THERE is where I would recommend you start trying out Alpha more seriously.

No one, I believe. 11B 2A BE always is face up far away IF you do it directly in front of them. The same thing but from behind however they always seem to get close up (like close up with 66B backstep RoHB 2A BE)
