New York PnT SCIV Tourney Results

i look forward to whooping that ass for money again soon my friend! then after...i will treat you to a cookie...but only 1.

I have no choice but to sustain this type of performance I am the fuel for influencing online players to enter offline tourneys.

Actually I think something like this would probably keep a lot of people playing online, thinkin that there's no difference lol. But it's good that you're motivated to try and bring in new players, the more we get the better the scene gets.

And yeah KDZ just picked up Cervy like last week, haha. We'll sit down and get some games in on the 15th, hopefully.

im not gonna lie realyst...he made my sophie feel alil useless...but if you can come up with a stragtegy im allll ears buddy

good job unique.

on a side note, please wait to see how he does at a major or a tourney with a decent amount of top players before we blow this out of proportion.

hold on, i just read the "sustain this level" line. lets not get carried away now, just what level did u sustain besides win 1 local. if i read into this the wrong way then i apoligize in advance. again, congrats on the win.

i look forward to seeing unique at some future majors. unique, r u planning to attend KIT? this would be a really good chance to show what you've got.

whats up KDZ? you usually place so much better if not win these tourneys, u have a bad day or something?

edit:
wait, the games were played on BOTH systems?

KDZ told me he was on a bad stick. I also told him to stop play Cas... More so vs kilik ... bad matchup imo.

Jinmaster.

He beat a lot of good people... I think that proves that he's got a lot of skill...

Oh... and he's a lag-tastic whore! Fucking online players, abusing lag for their wins! =P

I'm not saying I'm going to beat the guy. He owned me up online last I played him. But I think my character can at least get around the Asura Dance. But we'll find out. All of this well just help me get better so. That's all that matters to me right now. I'm def not gonna win any tournaments anytime soon.

realyst - i get what you mean but as a sophie player i would like to know the strats u have in your head for anti Asura...cuz im drawing blanks

Your in for a suprise because Astaroth is now no longer a problem. Only two left Voldo and X.

Well this is how I look at it. I agree with the overall community when it comes to offline and the best can only be decided this way without things like lag, as well as the added pressure that offline brings when your competing for money etc. On the other hand I argue that online is more helpful than most people think. It's just so many different types of players that you can learn so many styles of play vs. every single character. For example if I traveled without any experience besides practicing against the computer I guarantee you I would have lost. There are just so many players online ranging from scrubs to insane. What I have learned happened faster online than it would have gradually running through types of styles I have never played against online. To me Virtua Fighter is an example as there is practically no offline community for that game in the U.S. and the only place to learn so I would dare travel to japan and stuff like that for it would be online.

Damn, I wish I could of came to this. I think Sophie has a way around Asura Dance.

Sophitia hmmmm. Sometimes annoying, most of the time a breeze. In my opinion properly timed asura's destroy her.

Somehow this post comes off more to me as an insult to the players that I played more than insight into don't get to happy you have alot more good players to play.

Sustain this level is in no way cocky, it simply means I have to be consistent with the kind of momentum I am currently carrying.

I actually risked my first match coming out of losers on a crappy 360 controller as I don't play with sticks like some players like KDZ. Luckily after the immense amount of **** ups I made it and did not move from the PS3 version where I feel at home.

Lagtastic FTW!

Interesting now I have 3 names Unique, The Unknown (dundundun), and Lagtastic.

Lagtastic doesn't just refer to you, he's making a general statement about online play and no one besides Phire is calling you The Unknown, plenty of people who have seen the PSN rankings have heard of you.

I can see the value in online play as a jumping off point for new players to experience new styles, but many of those players will simply become satisfied with online play, and not push themselves. You're an exception obviously, but most players that start out with online have a much rougher learning curve when making the switch to offline play.

Now that's usually a positive, because it shows them that to take their game to the next level, they need to play offline. However my concern was people seeing results like this, and just assuming that if they're good online, they'd whup people offline as well.

LoL I really dont see what the big deal is..... The guys a player just like you or me... So what if he started out online... It isnt as bad as everyone says it is... It doesnt hurt your game as long as you dont play retarded... It opens you up to play many players that you would normally never play like he said... and as long as you play a little offline every now and then just to feel the speed difference there is no suprise that someone came from offline and whipped up on a couple names. It isnt like if you have a big name in SC4 your unbeatable.

This is anyones game... I have a feeling some of the older players are going to have a hard time wrapping there head around this... but anyone can win on any given day.... just comes down to whos the better man that day, especially in this game... Whether you had bad sticks, or it wasnt your system or whatever either way Something-Unique won... and he came from the losers bracket at that... He had alot of pressure on him i'm sure as there were probably people there talking smack behind his back or even to his face but he came through... So props man, and dont worry about what any of the guys say that been here for a while... they're just mad they lost to "The Unknown" ha now thats two people calling him that.... What Rigel!? :)

he did do his thing...simple as that. and like everyone else i look forward to seeing him evolve to something-awsome

Something-unique - dont worry...my asty is still gonna whoop that ass!!! better stay practicing on him puta!

Wait hold up I ain't done Muaaahaaaahaa you will fall to my new strats.

Side Note: I do have to admit the transition from online to offline was smooth but damn, the transition from offline to online for practice is jarring. It takes some time getting used to again.
