Thank you all guys, it's really nice to receive your support. Now I guess the talk is over. Here are some CaS. Hope you like it.

I'm stealing this design and there's nothing you can do about it :P

Seriously though, I'm a sucker for asymmetrical designs. Gave me some ideas I want to try too. This is beautiful man. Keep it up!

Ashura complete version is pretty solid, really cool and fresh set really.
I would like to see your hand at more delicate CaS, like a lady. Anyway great work.

I'll not promise anything, but I'll give it a shot XD.

for now, it is a "wo.!", you'll have to do something even better to get a "wow!" from me, but you are on the right path, padawan :)

Damn it, that was close. I just hope I can grasp that last "w" with my new work.

Hey, get back here little thief. Sorry, just kidding.

But, as I said, it pleases me greatly seeing my CaS inspiring others, so please take it (but don't forget me ;).

And thanks you all guys for enjoying this thread :)

This was certainly an improvement to an already good creation. I really like how the green pops out and how you pimped out the pants with the dragon sticker. I do agree with Vilarcane that the color scheme needs some work. Perhaps you could cut the number colors down to 3/4? Here's my take on Ashura. It's pretty much just a palette swap of the original design, but here it is just for the lulz. If you want me to delete it afterwards, just let me know. Blue, purple, gold, and white, so 4 colors.

Use reference pictures of things you like for source of inspiration for an OC.
Or think of something you'd love to see as a CAS, then do a quick brainstorming around it, like i sometimes do in my big corporation...this will not only help you assess if it is even doable, but help you immensely in nailing the right parts and effects for your CAS to be coherent and visually striking.

Use keywords to lay the foundation of your CAS design and the overall art direction like, if i take one of the CAS i am working on as an example (Hephaistos, not sure how he will turn up), but doing the prep work, i thought of :
- Muscular, big forearms
- Old
- Asta style
- Balding
- Hammer like weapon
- Flame effect / ornaments / vivid colors (orange, brown, red)
- Coal / Sweat / Stains (black)
- Apron
- No armor
- Chains
-...

Doing this iteratively, i guess this can be boiled down to a complete recipe, even though i usually go through this design process mentally as most trained CAS artists do...but not doing it can result in starting creating rather randomly and ending up working on something for 30 minutes to just end with saying, it is meh, seen that one before, and have you start over, which can be frustrating and disheartening for new artists i guess...

When you have created a wow-worthy CAS, one that will impress the whole community, you WILL KNOW, then i would strongly advise you try and take good pics of him/her, including in-game pics, and post all kinds of shots that will make him shine and exacerbate his/her soul and charisma...don't expect to wow me with any less than that, anyways :)

There is no try ! (Yoda)
If you want me to stick around, this wow! has to come from the next one you show...
Am i pushing you too hard, you be the judge of that :))

Thanks for your recolor brucege, it's beautiful really.

Vil, I'm working on a female CaS now, so I'm putting a real effort on it.

Right on! I love how you used purple and made it look badass ;) After your work on Nuria, I eagerly await your next female warrior. Keep 'em coming! :D

Ok, this is it...

Well I'm finally done with her, I'm still trying to take action shots, but I don't have a capture card, so it´s not easy for me to do it.

Anyway, I'll give this CaS explanation later. Hope you guys enjoy it!

Miriah (Fateweaver Gypsy from Elysium)
Miriah-01.png

Miriah 02.png Miriah-03.png Miriah-04.png

Very solid gypsy, but sorry this is not a Wow (i have to be honest).

First the good :
Strong theme, brilliantly executed
Equipment choice is spot-on
Facial makeup and body color / makeup is great
Of course the weapon (the crystal ball of divining) is the right choice !
As Kirax said, nice sticker work and colors do the job to give the proper gipsy feel
ExEq as a fan use isn't new but of course fits the CAS theme 100%

What i would have done differently (just a matter of taste, so you can disagree :) :
- Add a gradient or a pattern to the fan so it looks less like the centurion plume
- Add some additional sticker work on the front chest portion of the CAS to match that of the cap or just mimic a scarf or something (which could be an alternate equipment choice, or a piece of fur whatever...)
- Either you go for the gnarly or for the mystique, but i am not sure the eye is a good move.
I would have either put it as a sticker on the cap, or made the third eye on the forehead match the colors of the actual eyes (meaning, dark and blueish, and matching the outer rim color with the skin color...)
Like that the eye wouldn't stick out like a sore thumb on an otherwise elegant face...

That being said, i really enjoyed it, and it shows the effort to impress all of us, especially for a first female CAS :)

Good to see you back, @Gauntlet. These are some very nice updates. I especially like the the nature-themed Elf Prince edit. You should make an Elf King too! Theme music provided by Schubert.

Ahzirall's helm looks awesome, alot of people use that helm and add objects to make it look different but its usually not enough. you really made that look like a different peice of equipment.

Thanks man, I appreciate that =)

Loren: Excellent proportions. The red/blue/purple/gold color scheme has just the right amount of pop (i.e. accent). The purple headgear matches the purple pants while the red arm gear matches the red lining on the boots. Even with all the matching you made certain to maintain lateral (vertical) color asymmetry so that his outfit doesn't look at all like a uniform. In addition, you connect the scaly pattern from the chest armor to the belted skirt so that it looks like one continuous piece. This technique pushes the limits of the CaS engine to create new equipment, and it is the mark of an advanced CaS artist. You utilize this same technique for his headgear by connecting the golden horns and headband with golden stickers around his face to form a sort of mask/visor.

Elendril: I like the feather motif and the use of the gradient pattern. Looks kinda like a Valkyrie, but the ancient looking armor and jewelry does push the design towards Amazon.

Hector: Good job playing up the asymmetry with the pocket stickers on the torso and the ornament on the shoulder. I'm guessing you decided on a blue/white color scheme to match the sky theme since he's a falcon warrior. His helmet's really cool, but I wanted a falcon-like look, I'd try making the helmet a little more streamlined or aerodynamic. For example, I'd replace the feathers of strength with horns that sweep backwards more and replace the metal visor with a merged pair of horns to lengthen the "beak" on the mouth guard thingy. You can also try throwing in some feather stickers. Or maybe I'm thinking too much. Nevertheless, he looks good as he is. Just food for thought. Here's a couple bird-themed CaS that may or may not help.

Kortharg: Very thematically consistent. The chains on the arms and limbs very appropriate for a jailer. The sticker work on the chest plate is also pretty gnarly. I'm thinking that you were trying to create a whole bunch scarring and a deep, bleeding fissure. Also good choice to bulk up the waist since stereotypical jailers liked to sit around on their asses eating chicken drumsticks. The one problem is that the mask is kinda yellowish compared to the rest of the body. You may want to redden it up a bit and repost.

Ahzirall: Armors, spikes, horns, etc. are a given for fire demons. The head ornament is pretty cool. You gave it an awesome magma-like pattern. Reminds me of this CaS from @VILARCANE:

Ashura: Hmm...I'm not gonna lie, I kinda prefer the previous version, but this version still looks pretty cool.

Overall, a very strong batch. You've got a gritty kinda style that reminds me of @rdmunhoz and @Quinion. Lotsa great ideas and techniques and lotsa vivid, pretty colors (which is a huge plus with me). Can't wait to see more from you.

Wow brucege, thanks very much for the review, it's almost as if you're inside my brain or somenthing =)
Jokes aside, a superb review as always, I would expect nothing less from you, but let me answer you.

Kortharg was my bad, I've updated him right now with new images. The magma effect I took the idea form Vil of course, but let's just say I put my style on it, give bright colors to really make the lava impression. The artists you mentioned and much more (you, as well) are inspiration, I have to say that the work around here is incredible and I could learn a lot just looking and studying the creations. About the ideas for Hector, you really helped me, but I'll try this with another creation and see the results.

Well, since I'm here, allow me to show some recreations I made for a friend, who is a great fan of dynasty warriors series.

PS: To be honest, I'm not familiar with the series, I played only DW6, and when a searched for an image base I encountered many styles for these characters, so I took inspiration on DW8 costumes.
