DARK SOULS 2- Praise the sun

I think only the Bellkeepers and the Rat Covenant are really working as they should as far as PvP covenants go. Blue Sentinels are too restricted in who they help, making the covenant pretty useless besides for dueling. The Brotherhood of Blood seems to restricted with only using the cracked red eye orbs instead of getting a full one, making it seem at least like you have a pretty limited number of invasions.
pretty accurate. i'm still kinda confused with how the tokens of spite work. from my understanding you invade with the orb, if you win you get a token, and then use the token to summon reds so that they can get tokens? at least FROM made the red soap more usable than just for dueling.

and speaking of covenants, i'm not sure what the company of champions cov even does. i assume it's a PvE cov like pilgrims of dark, but i haven't really played much with them to know anything about them.

The company of champions makes the game harder by increasing the damage dealt by enemies along with the health they have; essentially giving players a New Game + feel, without the need to play through the entire game to do so. Also someone told me that you can't summon help either.

Of the times I have PvPed, 1 was when I was drawn into the world of a Rat Covenant person, 4 people from the Bellkeepers have invaded me, and the rest were from me being summoned as a DragonBro, a red phantom through the red soapstone, or I summoned someone through that. I tried to use the ring from the way of blue but I've never been summoned through that. Also the limited quanities of the cracked eye orbs is a bummer. Perhaps an update to the game could make the leaders of the Blue Sentinels and the Brotherhood of Blood give you an uncracked one upon joining. Idk though

I had a dragonbro wield a poisoned twinblade against me. It worked very well for proccing the poison effects. If it wasn't one R2 series, then it was 2 and I was poisoned. I think I may have been hollow so I was just about dead in a second or two. Sipped some estus and won though. Twinblade really seems like it could be a scary thing to deal with if the player is good, but it's meant to be two handed. So a bad player will not only be open to hits but probably whiff those ridiculous helicopter attacks and die. Actually, that might be good for me, considering I don't use a shield in my offhand, and they look cool as fuck.

Also, Calamity, while the status effects are very strong it still seems to take quite a time to inflict. I've taken to just poking shields to build up meter, where as before I would wait because I didn't want to degrade my weapon ( Black Scorpion Stinger has only got 30 durability I think, and durability is actually something you have to think about in this game. At least if you're running a light dex build like me. I had activated all the traps in the Grave of Saints and the acid pools hurt me more than the enemy.) Even with constant pressure it takes a while, and is definitely short enough to wait out. That being said the changes are amazing and great for extended trades.
Lots of duels where the both us had like 10 hp left and my poison drops them. Also bleed seems fucking scary. I've rarely had it used on me, but in addition to percent damage it now apparently slows, lowers your max stamina, and stamina recovery speed.

Black Gulch annoying as fuck.
to be honest i just yolo'd through it with some well-timed rolls, poisonbite ring, and common fruit.. i actually didn't find the 2nd bonfire there until after i beat the rotten.

speaking of annoying places, has anyone found out how to get past the fiery ground areas in the iron keep? i thought there might be something like the orange-charred ring from DS1 but i've yet to find it (assuming there even is one).

Double Bleed Caestus with Poison Twinblade desert. What you know about PVP?
swag. i've been playing around with the twinblade for a bit (just a vanilla one currently) and it's pretty cool. my only real gripe about it is that in PvE it just gets shredded from hitting so many walls and hard-bodied enemies.

Where did you get the poisonbite ring?
at the very beginning of earthen peak (the path to the right of the 2nd bonfire) there's 2 floors you can go into. the top floor which is covered with poison-filled pots and the bottom floor with a few small pot and 2 hammer guys. the ring is on the bottom floor, just go through and take a right at the end of the room. i believe it's behind a pharros door, so make sure you bring a lockstone.

Where does one get this phantom looking set

Also, any early game sorcerer robes?
That set is called the Heide Knight Armor set. The Heide knights drop it but only on NG+ so you have to beat the game or use bonfire ascetics to get it. I made a sorcerer as a second file, you can get the Hexer set which is pretty cool. You need 20 faith and int and you have to talk to a certain NPC.

A merchant probably sells it, can't remember who. You can break the statues though, Steven.
Jak, use the water pots or Pharros pools to soak yourself in water. It basically nullifies all the fire damage. if you leave footprints of whatever substance you're in you should be affected for some time. Also don't use anything fire-y while soaked in oil.

Does anyone know where I can meet the Abyss cov after you find him under a certain area? Also, does anyone know where I can find Seeds of a Tree of Giants?

You have to find him in 3 locations, The Shaded Ruins, The Black Gulch, and Under Castle Drangleic. Whichever was the third location you found him in is where he will be.

so if you get wet you can just walk all over the fire floors? looking back now, that seems so obvious. and for the abyss cov, the locations are where mesmerise said. note: you have to fall through a floor to get to him at the ruins and castle, but fight 2 giants to get a key to the room he's in at gulch.

Just beat Sinner's Rise and I'm in the Shaded Wood and have no idea where to go.

I'm around same place as you. Go into the mist forest and go left and hug against the wall until you find a path. There will be two of them. One leads to a knight who can sell gold pine resin and the other path leads to a bonfire.

Watch out for those invisible bastards hiding in the mist if you're going to find treasure.
