Nice rigs!
Well next time you hit these islands let me know. Maybe we can have shush kabobs in Aki.
Yeah sure thing... my sister-in-law use to live in Saitama prefecture but she has since moved out of country. But still I'll probably at some point visit Tokyo area again I'm sure.
Amazing. I always though Kamikirimusi and Shura were much better fits for the art style of Soul Calibur than any of the other bonus characters.
Also, is that a MG 3.0 RX 78-2 in the far back of your display?
Yep, simlar scale but that wasn't built. It's fix-figuration metal composite. Out of all those crazy designs and spin offs, the classic RX-78 (IMO) is the best.
I was thinking the same thing while doing that piece. It's too bad though, they didnt outfit those 4-5 characters with their own unique movesets but understandably it would have made difficult the development process of the game. Those other high profile "guest" characters like Vader, Yoda, Kratos and Ezio were really a "bonus" despite some of these characters really being out of place. I mean I think we've all gotten use to it by now but if you really sit and think about it, Vader? Yoda? in SC? WTF?
After tinkering about and playing the game series over the years, I have a deeper appreciation for this game and how its developed. It's gotta be one of the most complex to make - true 3D fighting (8-way movement), the most logical button setup for 'weapon in hand' fighting combat based on human physiology (4 buttons: horizontal, vertical, kick and a guard button, an actual button dedicated to "guard") but add the layer of character customization and items and you got yourself a recipe for headache dealing with all the possible combinations and permutations between character vs character with item#, collision models, scale, hit boxes, this and that... I'm sure the spreadsheet is pages and pages long. I'm sure other fighting games have their points too, but none of those games come close. I think that's why it takes so long to make an SC game while they keep churning out all those other franchises. But you have to agree, the results can be quite beautiful.
