Soulcalibur V Art/Wallpapers

Amazing. I always though Kamikirimusi and Shura were much better fits for the art style of Soul Calibur than any of the other bonus characters.

Also, is that a MG 3.0 RX 78-2 in the far back of your display?

Nice rigs!
Well next time you hit these islands let me know. Maybe we can have shush kabobs in Aki.

Yeah sure thing... my sister-in-law use to live in Saitama prefecture but she has since moved out of country. But still I'll probably at some point visit Tokyo area again I'm sure.

Yep, simlar scale but that wasn't built. It's fix-figuration metal composite. Out of all those crazy designs and spin offs, the classic RX-78 (IMO) is the best.

I was thinking the same thing while doing that piece. It's too bad though, they didnt outfit those 4-5 characters with their own unique movesets but understandably it would have made difficult the development process of the game. Those other high profile "guest" characters like Vader, Yoda, Kratos and Ezio were really a "bonus" despite some of these characters really being out of place. I mean I think we've all gotten use to it by now but if you really sit and think about it, Vader? Yoda? in SC? WTF?

After tinkering about and playing the game series over the years, I have a deeper appreciation for this game and how its developed. It's gotta be one of the most complex to make - true 3D fighting (8-way movement), the most logical button setup for 'weapon in hand' fighting combat based on human physiology (4 buttons: horizontal, vertical, kick and a guard button, an actual button dedicated to "guard") but add the layer of character customization and items and you got yourself a recipe for headache dealing with all the possible combinations and permutations between character vs character with item#, collision models, scale, hit boxes, this and that... I'm sure the spreadsheet is pages and pages long. I'm sure other fighting games have their points too, but none of those games come close. I think that's why it takes so long to make an SC game while they keep churning out all those other franchises. But you have to agree, the results can be quite beautiful.

I feel you man. They put so much effort into every little detail, from the animations to the music to the character models to the stages, it's mind boggling. Not to mention the thought that goes into designing every character's moveset.

And that's only the stuff we get to see. Just think of all the content they had to cut for SCV because of the limited budget. According to the producers what we got was roughly just a quarter of the original concept. Can you imagine what kind of a game we would have gotten if the Project Soul had been given a Tekken-tier budget?

Ya, I love the beautiful stages, the color and charas (with weapons).

You guys made me appreciate it even more.

Thanks Project Soul and keep it up!

F***n lizard..... and I mean that in a good way =) lol
Again, I was trying to find that dynamic pose as requested but those angles didn't work well and/or required a "target" opponent character to look right. But anyhow here's a "stomp" just before the action. It's also scaled to 1920x1080p to accommodate common wallpaper screen dimensions.

The director behind Soul Calibur IV, Katsutoshi Sasaki, once said

"(Hilde) is the most alluring female character in the title."

I'm not sure if he literally meant that or if that quote was somewhat taken out of context, or if it's real meaning somehow lost in translation and forever epitaphed in wiki's across the globe till the end of time. One thing is clear - Even in the next game Soul Calibur V, Hilde sure does have beautiful eyes.

Going 180° in direction, this old guy gets absolutely no love as a character... but man, those eyes....

Sure, all the attention goes to the glam and glitz, pretty designs/customizations, big strong muscles and boobs from the rest of cast but let's be clear about one thing. This old guy can whoop all their asses...

Nice vintage touch, eh? But I can't help to take it down a notch, way down and grade it this way.

Like those old classic vintage films by Akira Kurosawa and the like.. or who's that actor they put in Onimusha 2 who made those old samurai films...

well there's already an Ein in DoA (but I don't see why they need the 1-2 connection). I'm still disappointed somewhat that there were no variant versions of EIN other than recolours. Maybe zwei is just a puppet for the mystic dog. Zwei got dumped down a ravine at the end of the SC5 single player story tho no ? I always thought his dog would be able to save him.

The dog's right shoulder looks like it's being torn off lol.

I could guess that the original concept behind this was someone's idea of a "werewolf" without actually putting a cliché familiar human-beast transformation. I mean after all, this game's got it all - "skeletons", "werewolves", "zombies", "Frankenstein", "vampires" not to mention "cyborgs", "robots", "elves", "lizards", "demons", twisted "angels" and two sides of the "Force"... what more could you ask for in a game?

I'm not sure about his right shoulder but I would think someone not familiar with the game might look at this and think the dog was impaled by something sharp and is actually crying out in pain - lol

Good stuff. She looks a lot like viola anyway you look at it.

Are the body proportions in SC5 and SC4 identical for returning cast?
