Things you DON'T wanna see in SC6

They'd be more interesting if they were unrelated warriors of alternate origins. There were probably other types of Chinese/Japanese warriors in history from other regions so they can just add new characters representing other areas and sub-cultures. I don't like the idea of successors in general.

And the reason to cut styles is simple, either they are clones are there are simply to many characters that could be in the game and its bs to have 50+ character just to have them like in ttt2 and it doesnt make it easier for new players to learn the game.

I agree with your cutting clones/ add skins resolve.
But about the amount of styles NO.

Given the amount of time between each installment (which is ridiculous), these new mofos have time to learn dammit.

And considering how many hrs the people on this site put into Calibur, so do we.
 
sigh yea. But the interesting sc characters are still in the game i dont mind talim and the others staying where they are. And yes the number of chracters matters the game shouldnt have more than 35+ max. Just look at ttt2 that game has 50 characters and thats why it is so unbelievable hard to get into and aside from tekken being boring af thats one of the reasons why i never picked it up. This also includes 200+ moves per characters thats just retarded. Atleast no character should have A+K inputs thats what i wanna see aside from the ones that need em like voldo and yoshi.

I'm just saying it keeps things fresh longer. When you're passionate about a series it's nice to know you still have things to learn.

At this point there's nothing V is gonna throw at me that I haven't seen.
 
no there arent any scV newcomers> old characters.Some characters like necrid and ashelotte were cool. but i dont mind them not being in the game. Even though i think turning edgemaster into something necrid like would be interesting but thats something different since it doesnt require a character to return.
 
Formula for major improvement over the latest release:

Set Soulcalibur VI 1 year after the events of Soulcalibur V.

- Story telling is important, single player content and replay value are a must, each characters needs a purpose in life.
- Get rid of the cartoony design art, major change and revamp is desperately needed here.
- Voice acting and music are extemely important as well, restore Soulcalibur's epic feeling and grandeur.
- Gives us an intro movie that actually shows decent weapon fighting, instead of crystal and fire beams colliding with colorful lights...
- Restore Kilik's moveset.
- Give us a Nightmare that doesn't look like kiddy Mumm-Ra wielding a sword.
- Bring back the good characters that actually matter to the SC lore like Zasalamel, Night Terror, Xianghua, Sophitia, Cassandra, Seong Mina, Rock, Talim, Hwang, Setsuka, Li Long, & Abyss, expand their classic movesets, no need to waste development time on hollow
inferior copies just for the sake of making a new game, we can do that with CAS a lot better than Odashima did in IV & V.
- If using Mimics to increase character count Edge Master, Olcadan, Inferno & Charade are more than enough, give them unique special moves
such as Inferno's aerial spinning moves from SC I, that no other character had and were really good to at least make them somewhat different within the mimic class.
- Bring back unexplored characters such as Keres, Revenant, Miser, Greed, Arthur, and their unique fighting styles.
- Get rid of hollow characters like Patroklos, Pyrrha, Elysium, Dampierre, Ashelotte etc.
- Disregard the regressions implemented by Odashima, just make SCV's storyline & events a bad dream from a drunk Sophitia.

An alternative to appease the hollow souls:

If someone actually cares, bring back Daishi Odashima spin off the SCV characters and future events as a separate brand such as:
"Pyrrha a Patroklos New Generation Kiddy & Kitty Sword Competition No Story Hyper Champion Edition X Online HD True 4K"
(Pray that it reaches a million in sales....)

Or better yet, release a 200 mimic character Capcom vs SNK vs Midway vs Odashima CAS created no story, online only fighting game...
give them super, ultra, hyper and ultimate combo & fatality meter gauges.
No story, character descriptions, character themes, stages, intros & endings are required.
Save development time and only use generic artwork, 8 stages & music tracks.
Options menu should only include volume & color saturation FX whenever a character moves, swings or blinks.

Characters that are important to lore funny that you mention rock talim zas and the others there because they are as important as rebell 1/3 in scV.
And Designwise scV looks way better than its predecessors sciv looks like garbage.
And how the fck are dampierre and pat hollow just because they dont fit your sc1 trash point of view. If you wanna argue here then think first and dont shittalk about everything thats different from the first game.

And yea sc is turning into one of those because the "fans" like captain braindead byros up there prefer talking shit about everythign instead of fckin supporting the game and actually playing the latest installment. Thats why SC is dying. Oh and byros they already got rid of hollow side characters thats why your list up there isnt in 5

SCV is dying because it changed what worked to something inferior due to Odashima's ego and stubbornness,
he wanted to create a different game to his own liking disregarding his own team's vision & past success.

Result: a weak & unfinished game....One has to admire the ability to acclaim such a mediocre effort.

Most of us want the Soulcalibur series to live on, if they keep fumbling the ball as done in SCV,
me wight not get that wish, so I will certainly point out whatever gives Namco the best chance to
improve and learn from past mistakes.

Listed are things that work and don't work as proven by sales numbers and critique across different
Soulcalibur releases, a game developer should pay attention to those.

We got ScVs general design and looks which are amazing but arent your cup of tea thats why they are in there. We got characters that YOU dont like and listed because of that. You even talked about the terrible sc3 CaS characters who are definitely nowhere as good as Dampierre Pat Viola or the others. Sc3 CAS characters had the most fcked up illogical fighting styles possible not to speak of balancing. And also voice acting and music which was great in 5 but again YOU didnt like it. And pls dont try to make characters like rock or sc CaS character look well designed in any way.

Oh and Ashelotte has a huge af fanbase actually. But hey you did your research
 
So let me Summarize this mess.
What we dont need :
Mimics(maybe Edgemaster), A fcked up gameplay (which wasnt the case in 5 anyway), Clones, Bad story telling, And maybe unsafe movement

What we need is a finished story, Old characters alongside new ones, In case of xiba kilik n stuff maybe skins, Singleplayer content, 2-3 new fighting styles with original ideas, A Better online Rank/matchfinding system. Balanced JGs. (Maybe CaS for some people)

But we definitely dont need people who just hate for the sake of doing so and even insult the developers on facebook/twitter for noe reason.

are to their respective series, all those ill-fated releases do have their loyalist & passionate defenders, which is just great.

Up-next: Odashima releases Nuclear Man as DLC for SC V to further polish its roster & legacy.

Another point I agree with you. SC III balancing was one of the worst of the series , but guess who worked on character balancing on that release, yes Daishi Odashima, go figure....
 
oh boy. Yea i see i cant argue about soul calibur with you if you actually think V is the worst or anywhere close to it. I dont even understand how you can think that i mean I also played every single game since 2 and 4 Bd and even 3 are definitely worse than 5.
Oh and daishi also worked on 5 which is the most balanced of the series so maybe think about that.
 
Fortunaltely SC III arcade edition was fixed & rebalanced, if Namco had released SC III Arcade Edition with all Ps2 extras and upgraded models & textures instead of SCV for PS3 & Xbox 360 the franchise would be in a much better state.

SC I,II & III are much better than IV & V, the latest being the weakest by far,
and that's comparing a Dreamcast game to the latest installment.
