Honestly, I think all the SCV newcomers should deserve a second chance. Why not improve on them from both a gameplay and story standpoint in an effort to make them more interesting instead of just chicken out and erase them completely?
Okay, that's cool however.
For example, in SCV, you've had Natsu (Not-so). She may have been hated for numeral reasons besides the Naruto background story rip-off bit, but imagine if PS soups her up by bringing out her Arahabaki demon out and have her just blaze out with a fierceness.
I have been convinced since a while ago that it probably wouldn't be a bad thing for Taki and Natsu to be in the same game.
Natsu may have moves that were simpler than Taki's moveset wise (different people both liked and hated that). Also her Stalker variations were more versatile than Taki's but also Taki's simpler Stalker options had its perks for controlling which direction to face the enemy when she land behind them instead of Stalker jumping over your opponent facing away while landing and possibly not being able to face toward the enemy again with subsequent Stalker jumps.
Taki has a much more variety when it came to string attacks than Natsu. Some players have had unsubstantiated reasons imo for liking Taki better than Natsu; one of which I won't even mention (if one of those reasons is what I suspect it is). I also have aspects about Taki that I like better than Natsu (e.g., Natsu's 33_99K move paled in comparison to SCIV Taki's version [ask
@FleshMasher about it.])
If PS only were to have the dropout teen ninja PREMIER in one game just to not have her in the very subsequent installment, I think it would have been a waste of production purposes on Project Soul's part. 'That happens, Natsu would only be in it for her 15 minutes of
lame fame. If any reason that I thought once before that Taki should not appear in a hypothetical next sequel after SCV, that would have been the reason. (No limelight for a new character if Taki w/
Natsu) In such a case, I would have said to the Natsu fans, "Sorry, folks!" It'll be kind of a shame for the fanboys and PS themselves for even bringing out a waste of a character if they were to not even place the certain character in their very next game (probably with exception of Edgemaster.)
The other example I'll mention is OF COURSE... Z.W.E.I.
In the story mode, did the man really die? He fell in a chasm from what I understand (please correct me if I am wrong.)
If so, an excuse, story-wise, for bringing Z.W.E.I. back could be, "Oh, as Z.W.E.I. was falling to his death, Ein materialized to save him from the fall..."
As for gameplay, PS could probably give him an enhanced move-list. One with some additions to his moveset already on SCV, another move-set if you were to have him hold his sword weapon in his
right hand with new moves from Ein as well.
