Soul Calibur 6 Discussion

From what I can tell it's not a universal mechanic, based on Vergeben saying it was intended to be, only to enter development hell due to technical issues. I think some characters will have it but others won't.

Forgot about that. So i'm a bit confused at the moment. They tried weapon switch, it didn't work, then they rebuilt the whole thing from the ground up, and after this they integrate a V-trigger like mechanics? Which is still a 'switch' thing, but not necessarily weapon (basically Tira has something similar in SCV), am i right Vergeben? I mean if V-trigger is still a thing in the future SC?

Who thinks Soul Calibur needs more big characters like Rock, Zasalamel and Astaroth?
I'd like to see a Mace/Lance/Whatever + Tower Shield kind of thing. All of the shields in Soulcalibur are small and light, and while that fits with the game's relatively fast pace, well... I'd like to see what they come up with for a heavier or standard shield.

Side note: it suddenly frustrates me that aPat's Soulcalibur changes forms, when his original form already had a scabbard he could've drawn from...

I have to say something about this. Does it seem unreal to anyone else that we're actually getting news about SC? I forgot what it even felt like.
I hate to be the skeptic, but if this is indeed real, if this is really it, then this is the most hype thing to happen to me. I was still in high school when V came out, and now the chance of VI coming out and I'm almost done with College??? This is crazy.

If this weapon switching thing is true, which, I highly doubt is true for all characters, then I assume that the easy characters do this for would be: The Guy, Viola (should could even switch to Amy imagine how OP that would fucking be), Asta and Rock switching, Ivy's sword switching (like in IV with whip stance, sword stance, coiled stance), Pyrrha and Pyrrha Omega, etc....

> They tried weapon switch/multiple moveset thing and were dedicated to making it work.
> Some serious problems arose because of it.
> Mostly abandoned in the form they wanted it originally be as far as I know to get the game out of development hell because of it. But there was some kind of V-Trigger styled mechanic in the game as far back as July, which could tie into retaining semblances of it and what they could in certain characters. Though I can't say for sure yet if there is definitely a connection between the two, but it would make sense.
> The weapon switch/multiple moveset idea was intentionally meant to be highlighted, exist, and live on in the new character that uses two swords that he can combine together and also fight with that way.

This is the longest gap between mainline Soul Calibur games ever.
The usual wait is always 3 to 4 years.
Soul Calibur V came out 6 years ago as of this upcoming January.
The wait between V and VI will have been double the usual wait.

Can we put the blame on Daishi for forcing his fanfiction down our throats? Anyways, let's hope we get a better schedule in the future.

That reminds me, Vergeben do you know if Masaki Hoshino is still in charge? I'm pretty sure he is but I remember people thinking he stepped down because his Twitter account was redirected to Soulcalibur.
