I've yet to see a single person who is upset about it, myself. It's sad that Viola and ZWEI probably won't be in the game, but SCV needed to unhappen badly. So what do you guys think about Namco deciding to reboot the story? I had a feeling they were going to do that since the new characters were so heavily disliked for the most part and without them there wasn't much of a reason to keep the 17-year time jump. It was the best thing they could've done in my opinion.
Well they've already shown CEs in the trailers... soooooo... ... ...Musou attack also known as critical edge should not return in SCVI. Always hated that attack in SCV.
Excellent news. :)
- Character creation is something appealing that can’t be taken away, so keep an eye out for that.

Just allowing for a toggle option whether you want to fight CaS or not while online/ranked is all they need to do to keep everyone happy.50 % bad news, let's hope rank mode CaS will be separate to default SC characters Rank mode.
@Hayate please if you're planning to do that video, i'd like this to be put in the video with the other requests.

What I mean by that is allowing players to choose whether or not they want to play as or fight other people's created character when they go online. Especially Ranked. But what about the height and weight of the characters that can change hitbox and such? wouldn't be too hard to balance as well?
Also i don't get what does that mean exactly? "Please look forward to collaborations with other works!"
SCIV Lizardman CaS?
I see it being both most likely. Guest character(s) and crossover/collaboration costumes of some kind.Maybe the collaborations are for costumes too? Like the whole Bayonetta thing with SC5.
Weeeeell, I actually kinda did, seeing how some franchises are getting stripped of features, but well, my soul is settled now, knowing that it will be in the game. :DI don't think anyone doubted Character Creation's return, but it's nice that they've officially confirmed it. I'm hoping for way more slots.
Alright, all of that sounds good. So, this really is a reboot with the title of a sequel? Kind of odd.The new info has come out and been translated:

SoulCalibur VI introduces the new Reversal Edge and other new features that key developers recently talked about in this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine. [Thanks, Ryokutya2089.]
Here are highlights from the interview:
- The “Reversal Edge” can be performed with a single button. While pressing the button it blocks all attacks from high, middle, low, and grabs.
- When you let go of the button the character will slash and enter a scene.
- There are some moves that you can only pull off by consuming your Soul Charge and powering up.
- The “Lethal Hit” is an advanced system where landing certain moves in the right condition will send the opponent flying.
- Since there wasn’t any 3D fighters on current generation consoles, the team felt that they needed to make a new SoulCalibur.
- The setting will take us back in time, into the year 1586. The keyword here is “reboot.”
- Please look forward to collaborations with other works!
- The team is focusing on making enjoyable sword fights with the press of a button using Reversal Edge.
- Some commands that were difficult to pull off up until now have also been made to activate with just one button.
- The Guard Impact no longer consumes your meter.
- The team is getting help from a surprising amount of outside developers.
- Character creation is something appealing that can’t be taken away, so keep an eye out for that.
- Development is currently 70% complete.
As long as we don't get hentai artists designing the outfits, I'm cool with it...I see it being both most likely. Guest character(s) and crossover/collaboration costumes of some kind.
I agree with this completely. You can mod your save and put conflicting equipment together, alongside a shitton of other things, but it's quite a pain in the ass. Often, and especially with DLC costumes it doesn't even make sense. I'd much rather be able to put any equipment together, with the chance of it clipping.Hoping that character creation will be like a combination of 3 and 5. To be more specific, I'd like to see more period-appropriate pieces like 3 with the detailing options of 5. And I really want them to fix a lot of the "conflicting equipment" BS that was in 5. Seriously, there were so many conflicting items that would've looked so cool together...
