Soul Calibur 6 Discussion

If I recall correctly, Raphael was only roped into the plot because he felt like ridiculously indebted to Amy and thought that getting Soul Calibur would help him make a better world for him and Amy. While this was noble and all, Amy lampshaded just how ridiculous that plotline was in her own SCIV story mode ("oops"), and even then, she wasn't present in V and Raphael was lumbering around as a ghost because his physical body was holding Nightmare.

Hopefully they give him a better reason to be included in the plot, aside from being suddenly infatuated with Amy.

Maybe he truly loved him as a daughter. Added a little more humanity to him, despite how obsessed he got with his plans. He wasn't the only one with poor reasons after SC2, they couldn't just discard an old protagonist.

I'm a fan of Raphael in SC4 specifically because I liked how his kit worked. 4BK teleport was hilarious online, and his main combo starter ducked high attacks (Get fucked, Nightmare and Maxi).

I feel like in V they really tried making his kit more useable as a whole package (you could actually land crimson moon) but some of his more situation-specific moves lost viability in light of that. Overall, I still made a lot of RQs happen.

I actually liked the fact they made him "less human" due to his obsession: he was kinda selfish, crazy, blinded by his plans, and didn't care about the rest of the world (isn't it considered chaotic good?).

The vampire idea wasn't that bad either, suits his bat theme quite well, when it's not the main focus of his personality. But him being a ghost vampire in V was a bit too much... If VI was to happen as Odashima's fan fiction, he might have become a zombie ghost vampire -_-

@Vergeben Thx for the Taki leak/confirm! Even if I don't doubt about Taki, Cervantes, Ivy, cause they got too much value, either on fan base or/and Story Mode.

Thanks you guyz for all of your questions, I didn't expect that much. I hope they will not throw out my paper on garbage when they saw they 2 page list haha. Maybe I will rework it a bit. I still have 2 week at least to prepare it. So let's try to priorize all of this.

Anyway, my focus will be to test obscure things like lethal hit in the hour that they will let me.

I know that there will probably be beta for sure but I don't know when yet. Planning is very for obscure for now, maybe they are deciding right now if they will rush out the product and release it in June/July or they are convinced that it need some rework and wait for Sep/Oct/Dec.

A good thing to tell them now if our feeling about the actual game, if it seems finished or not. Like graphics, mecanics, animations, effects, sounds.... for me it still needs some rework especially on graphics.

Edit :
- I'am also a fan of Team Battle, even if nobody cares xD I've already adressed that in SCV when they asked us a review of the demo 3month before the release, but they didn't put it ... I will still adress it again x)
- Also the Museum was an awesome part for me, I remember that feeling of unlocking all the thing in it on SC1.
- Mission and SideQuest was also a super part and now Character Creation is also so good that they can't ignore it.

Yeah, you should definitely tell them to not rush things out, even though that doesn't have a whole lot to do with the development team, but more with Bamco If they get bored and want to just push the game out to get rid of it because it already cost them a lot of money, time and resources. (Like what Konami did with MGS5 when it took ages to get out)

I really love the graphics and don't get why it gives some people an unfinished vibe, but I won't say no to improvements. I think the balance and fun of the gameplay is the most important thing as that's what will matter a year or more from now, that and extra modes and unlockables.

I may be in minority, but I liked vampire Castlevania-Raph and his whole Amy-obsession plot. It looks a lot better when you review it from the very beginning when he was human and haven't met Amy yet to the point when he became both physically and mentaly inhuman with the only thing making him happy while also making him even more insane is his love for his adopted daughter.
But SCV's vampire-ghost-while-body-is-being-possessed-by-Nightmare thing is a little too much, to the point of being stupid. Cool hat though, I love hats.

Alright I really want to let this off my chest, I hate the announcer talking at the start of every match. I played SCV a lot I never know what the hell he's talking about and I can never get myself to care. I also feel that he talks over the intro to the stage OST and I don't like that.

Does anyone think he adds to the game?

Edit: Maybe it's his voice?

Vampire Raph isn't too bad, but i still have preference for Human Raphael.

I personally back then though they made him Vampire in SC3 and change his design quite drastically to make him very different from Siegfried (first time both characters were in same game), like Blond long hair dude. I know they were still different but at that time i felt like Namco really loved making things absolutely different.

For example another similar situation was Hwoarang in Tekken 4, they absolutely changed his hairstyle, and for me back then i though that one of the reason behind it so that his hair won't look like Steve's (New character introduced in this game).

Anyway there is a good chance Raphael will come as a Human in SC6, since the game will be kind of reboot. But we'll see!
