It's not that unlikely to reveal the new characters at the main JPN EVO stage. It is an anticipated, long time coming new fighting game afterall. 3 characters are totally likely too, since its been more than a month and a half since the first reveal.
 
I think I played the demo over a dozen hours this week. How do I feel about it?

I'm not great at Calibur by any stretch. At best, I'm a semi-casual who understands competitive FGC memes. Like most scrubs, games bore me when they're not feeding into my monstrous ego.

I could not put SC6 down. It's first and foremost a fun fighting game. The game treads an extraordinary line between breakneck speed and control. Backstep still has its risks despite its speed, but 8WR has been significantly sped up in both ease of entry and its distance covered. It's a great improvement to the game's core formula that helps separate it as a unique entry from both II and V. The game feels relentless during pressure and tense during neutral, even in skill mismatches because you're controlling what feels like a supercar with legs.

RE and GI are secondary to all of this. Yeah, they're strong and give teeth to otherwise toothless defenders, but they're universal mechanics that ultimately lose to clever mindgames and adjustments. I know I posted some troubling stuff that seems like the game is being dumbed down. It is, sure, but the best part of the game is probably the best it has ever been and it can be experienced by both unskilled and skilled players. RE specifically really puts the emphasis back on 3D movement, because you can't just bully a player with frontal attacks or chase down a backstep without having to respect the possibility of the glowing red terror cutscene.

I'm excited for this game in the future. I suck at it now and will probably suck in the future, but it's the most fun I've had in a fighting game and it isn't even done yet.
I see..okay so im just curious when u say RE/GI looses to clever mindgames and adjustments, what Attacks beat GI in particular?

I'm all for that..More character reveals, Gameplay, info..Let's Get this SHOW goin!! Ooohh Man..I Can't wait until they reveal the MAD AXER! YEAH BUDDY

This basically confirms what I was afraid of, frame data is not that valuable anymore, we'll see how this behave on tournaments and with specialized players.
Anyway, you can't break the RE's parry with a throw right? or can you?

This is a misconception. Frames are still important. This is not JG where there is a theoretically superior block button.

RE is risky and you can condition players not to use it by punishing successful parries. I've been baited into RE parrying a B and getting sidestepped before I can clash. You can do this on reaction as an attacker, which means you can SS and wait out the RE parry timer for a guaranteed whiff punish.

RE, at worst, makes you pay attention to your own recovery frames on attacks. Maybe frame traps are worse on paper. In actual play, conditioning still wins because one does not simply spam RE when minus and not die.

You cannot throw REs from the front though. I should have checked if you could side throw.

Arcade Mode. I can't tell what the icon is.. It looks like a hat, or a ship? Maybe a duck, and there's a little flag on top.

Arcade, Survival, Team Battle, Time Battle ... usually occupy the same icon.
I think this third icon (with a single warrior) is the single mode, with arcade, survival, team and maybe practice / training.

Traditionally on the bottom are options, museum and creation.

- VS
- New Mode (focused on cas, like Tower of Lost Souls)
- Museum/Shop
- Creation
- Options
