They've done more than one Japan-associated character whose European. Just a thought since SCV's characters felt out of place. Maybe it's that CyberConnect2 union that led to those trash designs? I mean even ZWEI didn't really belong.
ZWEI had that wolf motif, but I'm guessing Mr. Edgy is probably a yin-yang motif. I mean what are the tiger and that olive branch in Rugi's and Sophitia's art for?
I'll remain skeptical. I think Verge hinted Edgy was a bishie. Oh boy...
And if they are indeed rivals, what did Kilik ever do to him?
I don't have confirmation of that, but is a personal speculation due to his body type, outfit, and stance that he probably is.
Whether people like it or not, a bishie hasn't exactly been done yet in the series.
And bishies aren't automatically bad design types. Street Fighter's Vega is one of the best of all time and he subverts the whole trope by being a narcissistic serial killing psychopath who hates to the point of wanting to kill all people he deems ugly thanks to his ugly dad killing his beautiful mother, rather than being someone people are supposed to
actually find attractive, in-universe women should fear and be weary of him and not fall prey to his beauty and tricks.
Furthermore, looking at something like JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, which is filled to the brim with bishie guys doing gar things and I personally am a fan of it and that's a great series in my opinion.
So it's not that bishies are automatically bad designs, because they aren't.
But there
are a lot of bad bishies that exist that series have created, sure, because some are lazy or stereotypical, but people will argue that it's a preferential thing to like or dislike them in the first place.
It's like saying gar men are automatically bad, too. Both statements and stances are ignorant and preferential.
There are great bishie designs the same as there are great gar designs.
You just have to keep an open mind and not shit on something just because it falls under a certain banner, but judge the character by itself and what the writers do with it.
