Sophitia's Sword and Board / General Discussion

Sophitia TASB no longer allows for double TASB and the damage you get from LH TASB into grounded TASB is about the same as TASB:4 (E3 build)

4K is no longer the duck kick she had in 4, it is now her old WR K but it is a high now, catches step, seems really good on block. (E3 build)

Sophitia 2B can go 2BB and 2BK now, the K variation seems to come off a little bit later, so you can probably bait people into it.

6BB and 6AA have auto guard impact and can go into Angel Step.

Also TASAA can be turned into TASAB the second hit is a GB so you can break REs and GI, it seems the first hit of TASAA no longer stuns.

PS: Thanks to Signia for giving this info.

Sophitia 236B doesn't have that first hit, in the video she does 2BB, it goes from a small shield bash into the stab.

I know what 2BB is. The 3rd B in 2BBB is the 2nd followup to 2BB. That means AS BB is possible.

Does TAS B hit slightly grounded like DNS B?

Also does her aGI return to its former glory of beating all mids or is it like in V where it loses to stabs?

I'm a terrible judge of footage (as terrible as a casual player might seem even with years of history with the series), but how do y'all feel about Sophitia in this game compared to her previous iterations (and Pyrrha, technically)?

I was able to clarify with Party Wolf(thank you) his words
as in a low hitting mid or actually hitting grounded cuz omega's didnt do that either but yeah it is still a low hitting mid

From the info I gather, Sophitia is pretty much the same as she always was, she punishes people with stab, you won't be seeing anything flashy with her, She got a few new tools, but since no one is playing her in the demos there isn't that much information

Thanks. This sounds like it does hit that way (would be especially amazing if it's still in since she got PO's in-air CE effect for free) but as you say no one's playing her (and of the few I've seen I haven't seen anyone buffer TAS B properly). I have seen LH 1K get hit by TAS B though so maybe that's proof of it.

Damn, it sucks that they nerfed LH TAS B already lol LH TAS B into 66B was really good.

Yah, she is basically the Sophitia she always was and most people don't find her that fun, so it is understandable, I wish at least one Sophitia player would attend the events, some people have been really helpful tho, specially Signia.

We can keep the conversation alive tho.

From what people are saying TASB is assumed to be at -14 on block. Double TASB and TASB LH 66B were both really good, but I understand why they took it out.

I never played soph too much but I mained Pyrrha Ω in the last game. Seeing as she obviously won't be in this one I'm looking to main soph, is soph really different from Ω or are they pretty much clones?

They have some differences, specially when it comes down to what they can do with their Twin/Angel step- Sophitia has a few more RO options outside of stab, but she used to lack on stab RO and Wall splash options (They added a B variation to her stabs). They do have nuanced differences, but if you're used to Pyrrha Omega adapting to Sophitia won't be a issue at all.

Yeah, the B variation really seemed to close the gap between her an Omega. And 4AB is now a natural combo so it kinda mitigates the loss of D/NS A.

Thanks, good to know. Sounds really promising, from what I have seen of her in sc6 vids she seems to have good options.

Hi! I had a chance to play a lot of Sophitia at CEO this weekend (except for Saturday because I'm dumb). I'm not exactly well-versed in the art of frames and all that stuff so I'll go over things I noticed while playing! A lot of this stuff may have already been discussed, so I'm sorry if I'm just repeating everything again.

I haven't played Soulcalibur since around 2015 (and it was SCV), so I may not know her old stuff. Playing her, she hasn't changed much compared to other characters. I was able to pick up and play and it felt very comfortable almost immediately. I'm going off of memory because I didn't note anything while playing. Also, after a few games we had to get back in line so other people could play so I only got lil doses of it.

  • 4K is her old WR K, and doing 4K~K becomes her old A+K~K
  • Her old 4K is 3K I think
  • Old 44K is her 6K now
  • WR K is now the flip kick thing she had
  • 66A+B is her old 88_22A+B
  • 66B is still good I think
  • 88_22 BAK is like Pyrrah's
  • It was difficult for me to combo TASAA into TASB, but ASB works.
  • Her A+B is Pyrrah's 4B, I tried to combo after a GB but I think I held it too long.
  • Her old B2 ground stab is now 1B
  • For TAS you can automatically go into it by doing 2366, but it's slower than just doing 236236.
  • I think her TAS AB is really good.
  • TAS:B is still... so good.
  • Idk what her old A+B aGI is now
  • It was hard for me to get CH 44A for some reason, but I know it's possible
  • I was able to do her JF after AS B and TAS B like near 90% of the time. I'm not 100% sure if just frames are slightly easier?
  • I didn't get a lethal hit often, so it was difficult for me to see what she could do with it. Sorry ):
  • Personally, I don't really like the BBB and AAA, I think the last hits happen too slowly. It made me feel like the last button press didn't register, but I think if you play the game more it won't be so bad actually.
Overall... she may not be fun to watch for some, but she's definitely fun to play. I really wish I had more time to gather more information as I didn't really get into her SC much. Was afraid RE was gonna be a problem, but it ain't really all that disruptive to me now.

PS: Her CE is the most stylish shit I ever seent in my LIFE.

First of all, thank you very much for all comments, it is really appreciated.

On that, 44A is manual now, you can do it after a CH but also as a standalone by pressing B.
