Project Bokuho
[14] Master
Bayonetta would be a fun character for SoulCalibur as well. I can imagine how crazy her Critical Edge would be thanks in part to her wicked weave abilities.

I'd also like to see Donald Trump as a playable character, also much better idea than 2B if all we care about is sales. The shock value alone will gather so much attention. People will buy him just so they can beat the snot out of him in training mode if nothing else.
His bread'n butter normals will be splashing a hot cup of covfefe for standard As and Bs. Occasionally saying "covfefe" with some attacks but not all of them because that'll get annoying. He doesnt have a block but he can absorb hits like SF4 focus mechanics by waving his hand at attacks calling them "fake news". His other defensive option is summoning "aides" that shuffle out like zombies to block an opponent. They dont actually attack or do anything but they are in the way so you have to hit them to get to Trump. The trick is he can "fire" his "aides" which actually does catch them on fire making it an unblockable attack. So the opponent has to be careful and space properly away from aides or else they'll get hit with the "firing". His CE will put a close up of him lighting a cigar saying "i'm sending an armada" and the way that works is there is a completely random spot on the stage that will kill you if you step on it via bombing from a naval ship, but there is no way to tell where the armada is. Of course if it sucessfully hits, he says "very powerful, very powerful!" He doesnt have a Soul Charge but instead he steals an opponents meter by shrugging and saying "its a billion dollar system" so opponent pays for his meter.
Popularity is what matters when it comes to guest characters. Fans are just going to have to get over the fact that guest characters aren't really for them. They are for fans of the guest, who likely wouldn't pay much attention to the game if they weren't in it.
Your complaints aren't going to change that. You're not the target audience for DLC guests like 2B. Who would be an optional guest that you don't even have to buy if you don't want her.
I like that we have a character whose source material is actually literature.
Makes me a little sad too a Game of Thrones character wouldn’t stand out enough gameplay-wise

I'd like Arya in SCVI, but just imagine the, justified, backlash from the Amy fans if Arya kind of replaces her like you suggested xDI don't see why a GoT character wouldn't be possible, except for its massive budget and how unlikely they would be to lend a hand with how big they are. But the great thing about taking people with limited movesets in their home game/show is that it allows PS to be more creative with what they want to give them. Arya could totally have a Many Faced God SC where she can steal others' moves, along with a play off Amy's moves.
But thinking about how far back they had to have entered negotiations with whomever, it's likely something that was either popular or in development a year or two ago.
I think I need to make myself clear on the matter again just in case people don't know what my stances are on guest characters. I do not approve of guest characters stepping outside the realm of absurdity, the character has to fit with the setting. Star Wars characters for example are too far out there and this is the catagory 2B, X-Men, Bayonetta and Dante are in. The only acceptable ones from a big IP is a Castlevania character, a Dark Souls character, a Nioh character, or any other franshise with characters that fit the setting. If people want 2B so much I think their energy would be better spent convincing Bandai Namco to do a Square Enix cross over fighter of their IP's with the eight way run mechanics.
Nintendo owns the copyright for Bayonetta? I'm pretty sure they just funded the games but don't actually own the character.Yeah, for as long as MvC is a thing, I doubt anything from Capcom is going to be in the Soul Series. Likewise with Bayonetta, Nintendo owning the copyright for her means that unless the series comes to Switch, she’s unlikely to be in the game as well. That and she’s already in Smash.
All bad excuses.Three major reasons.
1. Technological androids in SC. I dont care about the Star Wars excuse. It was stupid then and i hated every match with the Apprentice. I can tell you i liked his moveset so much he would have been my primary main if not for the Lightsaber but because of that, i never touched him. Except maybe in training or against Vader and Yoda. Looking back on the situation from today, i realize Star Wars characters were a golden opportunity for Namco. That goes well beyond anything any videogame character could ever provide. If they were only able to get the Apprentice without Vader and Yoda then i would assume they wouldnt bother but the point is 2B cant possibly have the same excuse that Star Wars does.
2. The pacing and speed of Nier is way different than SC. Frankly speaking 2B will not be able to do half the things she does in her own game. The way she moves and attacks, and the rate she hits... it just doesnt fit. At the most you are looking at 4 or 5 hit combos in SC. Otherwise a typical match is two characters stepping in and out of close range looking for an open spot to hit a couple times at a comparatively slow pace to Nier. 2B belongs in a fast paced game with fluid, fast movement. A game that has prolonged air combos ranging in the averages of 20 plus hits and several movement options like dashes. She also needs to be in a game that is more projectile heavy, where keep away tactics are a thing. She doesnt work here for the same reasons Bayonetta and Dante cant work. She belongs in something more similar to MvC. If they do force her in, she'll have to change so much. Which would completely strip the entire reason people enjoy her in the first place (except maybe her appearance).
3. I want Ornstein for a guest instead. I think its a better choice for Namco as well. 2B may be more popular as an individual character but Dark Souls as a game and series is i think more popular than Nier Automata. Plus Namco isnt assisting another companies sales with that guest.
All bad excuses.
1. SC is an anachronism stew.
2. Characters can be changed to match the fighting game platform, just like Geralt.
3. Who?
1. Uh, yeah it is .1. Not as much as you think it is, no.
2. Every character has to be "changed" to fit SC's extensive movelist. The relevant question is how much a character has to be altered. If its to the degree that a character can not do the majority of what they typically do normally in their own game, then it is too much.
3. Yeah, i suppose not everyone is familiar with Dark Souls. It spans 3 games on 3 platforms with several DLCs on each game since 2011 and is now getting remastered releases this year... even on the Switch. That is a bit more significant than Nier Automata.
- Combos involve her signature throwing of her sword, which she can also use as certain moves to disrupt enemies as a pseudo projectile.
- Like in her home game, she can engage in rushing, and can float in the air temporarily for more combos.
- She has a special trait that involves the Evade mechanic. Basically, if timed right she can instantly dodge an attack and appear at an advantageous position. May require meter in case it's too OP without it.
- She can be supported by her Pod in the middle of battle, which depending on the move can shoot either a machine gun, laser, or homing missile.
- Speaking of the Pod, it will assist her in certain combos.
- Her Critical Edge would likely be revamped version of one of her finishers from her home game. Not sure which one though, but something flashy.
- Because her home game features clothing destruction, she would be the first guest to actually feature it in SC. I can even envision a move where self-destructs and it explodes her skirt. You know, for science.
1. Uh, yeah it is .
2. I've actually come up with a moveset for 2B and I think it'd work well.:
3. If DS gets representation in Soulcalibur, I expect that it will, at best, be armor sets.
I still think SoulCalibur missed its chances for Final Fantasy guests already. They were supposed to get Cloud for SoulCalibur II, but ended up getting Heihachi instead. They could have gone for Lightning for SoulCalibur V (they even had Ali Hillis on the voice cast!), but they went with Ezio instead. Final Fantasy XV is in a lull right now before its second season pass, so it's not really relevant. Nier Automata just came out for Xbox One a little while ago, so it's kinda fresh again, so 2B would be a more relevant pick.
