SoulCalibur VI: which 3 characters do you most hope for?

  • A brand new character

  • Amy

  • Cassandra

  • Hilde

  • Hwang/Yunsung and/or Lizardman

  • Rock

  • Setsuka

  • Viola

  • Z.W.E.I.

  • Other: Abyss, Algol, Dampierre, Elysium, Leixia, Li Long, Patroklos, etc.

I already more or less came to that same reasoning earlier in the thread. The difference being I don't count Tira in the 21 characters because she's DLC, even day one DLC. But it is amusing that @Norik of all people would entertain this idea.

Well, Azwell as a boss character with a pretty big possibility won't have alternate weapons (I think recoloring will be there though).
So if we won't count Tira as she is not in game as default character nad not a part of the trailer, even as blurred one (like Cerv and Raph), then we have anough weapon slots for 2 more characters.

I think if there is a character to be revealed, it will be neither hwang or liz
 
Weapons seem to be reused if Dante’s theory on the returning weapons is true, but why would Sophie get an axe?

I only really have hopes for them because Mi-Na may fight some of her dad’s students who’d look funky with Xianghua’s dance-like movements. Or whoever ends up fighting Lizardmen that fight with their crotch and ass.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the Lizardman race might be locked to a single CaS-only specialized style. I think it'd be dumb for Lizardman not to be his own character if there's a unique style for him, but it would explain the unique weapons and animations for him if he is not a proper character in the base roster.
 
Imagine - classic Aeon with Axe(or sword) and Shield returns, with crawl stance and stuff.
And his SoulCharge allows him to use his dragon-like moves from SCV with wings and firebreathing!
That would be pretty awesome I think.
 
if there are really more characters, then perhaps they will be leaked early because of how slippery Project Soul is when it comes to holding onto their secrets
 
I don't believe that Sophitia will have an axe in the final build. I believe that LIzardman's style is one of the last things completed, and that they only gave the axe to Sophitia's style to show the Lizardman CaS properly. For Sophitia weapons, we've seen so far:

Omega Sword & Elk Shield
Swordbreaker
Gladiatrix
Brave One

It can be assumed that there will be a 2p variant of Omega Sword & Elk Shield, so that leaving two slots left, the last one maybe reserved to be Soul Edge for Inferno to use in mimic style, I can't really see them using an axe for it, because it would mean losing out on one of Sophitia's classic weapons, Fire Blade or Orichalcum. My personal money is on Orichalcum, since it's often her final weapon.

For Lizardman, I believe his base weapon will be Xi Sword & Game Shield, as the Lizardman story mode art shows him with a sword. Then he would have various axes for extra weapons, and likely an axe variant of Soul Edge. But his moveset would be a mix of Patroklos and Lizardman classic styles.
 
New feelings say Lizardman is in. Plus another character (new female). Lizardman and new female will have some story together.

DLC will be Tira, Hwang, Setsuka, Hilde
DLC 2 will be Cassandra, Viola, Rock, Guest

Raph is too non-hype for final character reveal, but is marginally more popular than the 2 speculated, but then the leak kind of ruined it.
Hwang is also non-hype for final character reveal, but is maybe popular in Korea?
Lizardman is also non-hype for final character reveal, but at least brings some levity/humor.

There has to be someone else...

Or they counteract it with DLC silhouettes.

I still feel like what they may very well do is announce the second DLC character, the second guest character, to generate more hype closer to release. They may also be available on day one, that way, we don't have any stray blank slots if you've bought all the DLC, if Hwang goes left of Siegfried, Lizardman goes right of Taki, Tira goes right of Random, and the second guest character goes left of CaS. Or it could also be Cassandra.

no no no. A DLC character on top of Tira day one would not go over well period.

As for last reveals being hype? Eddy Gordo is a classic tekken staple and most thought he was second fiddle to Christie at that point.

But Tekken also finished the reveals way before release date.

The hype about the final potential reveals is not about who they are. It's about having more than a barebones roster. More base characters = better DLC chances for your lost character
