Soulcalibur VI DLC Discussion Thread

Dampierre is a character I wouldn't want to see until after Algol and Algol I wouldn't want to see until Cassandra, Yun-Seong/Hwang, Setsuka, Hilde, Aeon, Amy/Viola, and Young Zwei. Although if they gave Rock a completely new moveset I'd want him over Dampierre as well. I wouldn't say no to his return mind you I just want the staples of the series to return first.

Didn't Okubo say that he wanted to add a character from SCIV and V as DLC in this season pass? If so, then it's possible that he's hinting at Hilde returning as DLC. Hopefully, Cass or Hwang/Yun-Seong is the other DLC character.

By the way, Sophie looks great in Kaine's costume. =3

Close, but he didn't say that. He said they were focusing on I-III but they could look into IV and V for DLC in general, I think implying later.

Okubo did say it's possible to add SC 4 or 5 characters as DLC during his interview with Kayane, but it's not a guarantee.

Here's the link to his interview with Kayane.

Even though I think 2 of these following characters (Cassandra, Yun Seong, Amy, Hwang, Setsuka, Hilde) have the best chances of being the remaining DLC characters, I have a feeling Project Soul, Bandai Namco are going to give us 2 more guests instead (to attract even more people which will lead SC 6 to sell more physical and digital units).

I just want to know if the remaining SP characters are guests or not.

I feel like there is only a few choices for returning favorites. So more than likely, anyone could correctly guess at least one of the characters returning.

Guests are a different story. There are a few more possibilities for that.

Actually i'm more in the "is 2B the last guest" than "who'll make it"

The only character I'm almost sure will make it is Cassandra because of the heavy tease in Story mode .

But then again i would really love to see Setsuka and Zwei. Imagine Setsu would have more umbrella moves when SC, and Zwei would be surrounded by Ein when in SC the whole time, like maybe Zwei would take less damages during SC cause Ein kind of absorbed a portion of those damages, then Zwei can't use Ein moves for a moment cause the wolf is restoring himself mainwhile.

I guess I'm in the minority that I really don't think Cassandra has much of a chance. If we're getting a sword and shield character at all, it would seem to me that it would be more likely to be Aeon, since it appears that he was meant to make an appearance, but wasn't, and his style is already partially in the game, with one borrowed move from Cassandra, while Sophitia has a borrowed weapon from Cassandra (Katzbalger). Aeon's model is already made, complete with his unique armor (even though it's literally copypasted from SoulCalibur IV). He has three weapons, two of them used (Iron Hatchet and Lunatic) and one of them not (Meat on the Bone), and his other four weapons could easily be Xi Sword & Game Shield (shown in his story art), Grudge Ax & Aya Shield, Tabarzin, and Kora, to give him a full set like everyone else.

Cassandra is a fan favorite and loved by many. To have her appear in Story Mode and not even think about including her as a DLC would be blasphemy.

I think they are very much planning/working on her but that could still be at season 2 if they want to prioritize guests first.

See, that sort of thing doesnt suggest he's going to make it IMO. We gotta figure they wont just copy and paste SC4 equipment for his official reveal. I feel like this amount of work was done because that is all they will do. Just enough to barely identify him and that is it.

If we saw an updated artwork of him with new colors, frills, horns, etc then i would be all about the "Aeon for DLC" speculation but i just dont see it.

Edit: Consider if we saw the same thing for Cassandra. A Sophitia CAS named "Cassandra". I'm sure any fan of that character would be quite pissed to see that and ill bet most would take it as "i guess this is as close as we'll get".

CAS Lizardmen killed Lizardman. Once you make that available on everyone else, it really destroys a lot of the point of him as a character. He's literally been called "Lizardman" most of the time. Its his whole identity. Yes he still has value to his fans for his moveset but... i just dont see PS making that a priority over other characters.

Lately i'm beginning to think those other two characters are indeed guests. Mainly because of how their stalling with their reveals.

If the other two were Cassandra and Setsuka for example, that would be great for the fans but obviously 2B is still the "heavy hitter" of the group in terms of sales and gathering attention. In that case i think it would make the most sense to announce her last. As close as possible to the date she's playable.

So i think if they've decided to announce 2B first, while still being an unknown amount of time before the characters are even playable, that must be because the other two are also "heavy hitters".

I'm aware that 2B is probably the most significant guest they could reveal anyway but i feel the gap between her and other guests aren't so significant as it would be for standard SC characters. So they decided to coordinate 2B's reveal with the event in France when Kayane could participate i suppose.

Otherwise i cant really see much logic in deciding to reveal 2B first with still no word on when she'll be available or who else is even coming.

2B was revealed first so that she could sell season passes. That's all there is to it, really. Geralt sold the game to casuals, 2B sold the season pass to casuals.

But then all three characters would sell more season passes regardless if they're guests or not. If that strategy works best, why not put out the reveal trailer for all three?

People will get annoyed. People don't want to wait long for a reveal. It also means the characters might need to be rushed, you still need a bit of gameplay. Furthermore, people will assume the characters are done and will constantly whine for the characters. I think it's a good idea to finish the character or have them almost ready before you reveal them. People will likely get annoyed if they don't have a release date too. I hate to say it, but Bamco isn't to good with releasing release dates.

We need to consider the option of Lizardman style never becoming a thing. Everyone seems convince that it Will eventually appear as either carácter or as an style, but the "neither" option also exist.
SCIV had skeletons in the misión mode but it didn't have skeleton model, in SCV part of Zas and Talim styles were in the game files. But we didn't get skeletons (back in SCIV) nor we did get Talim or Zas in SCVI.
So, there is a chance that that partial lizarman ser Will never be completed and used in the game aside of its current role.

Cassandra will be for season pass 2. Have you looked at her fans? Who else can bring back the hype after a year? Same applies to Amy.

Like you know there will be a 2nd season pass :o
Not because Tekken 7 got one that SC6 will get one, especially if it doesn't sell as much as Tekken did :/

People are of course entitled to say whatever they feel like but the truth is that not releasing Hwang in a reboot of the series is a crime. From being the Ryu of Street Fighter, the Akira of Virtua Fighter in the series, he was unfairly mistreated by turning him into a cheap assasin in 2 and then criminally underestimated as a mere extra in 3 and from there he was taken into full oblivion. I will not lose hope until the very last DLC.
