Photo Mode

Many games have been including this 'photo mode' option since the PS4 it seems and I notice most of the people who spend time here these days like to share their CAS characters so I thought I'd start a thread for all of this virtual photography business to see anyone wants to share anything else from other games they like. I'll share some to get us started then...

Let's do a couple more for the road. Does give you a wider appreciation for what goes into the game but I can't shake the feeling that someone somewhere is profiting from my labour in the form of free advertising... Not sure why that is though.

Don’t forget good ol’ Mass Effect: Legendary Edition. Hooked a clean shot of this beast thanks to photo mode.

Interesting. I never played any Mass Effect games although I remember, was it the last one that came out, had some problems. Guess it just never appealed to me overall even if they have a mostly good reputation though. Like The Witcher which a lot of people seem to love.

My brother bought the 3rd game for my birthday a few years back and I finally tried playing it before Christmas. Never really got into it much though. Was looking forward to seeing Cyberpunk but we all know that didn't go as smoothly as they'd hoped. I certainly won't be buying a PS4 edition of that anyway.

I was never much of a fan of Tomb Raider games but thanks to PS+ I've been able to play through the second two after the intial reboot game and was relatively impressed. Quite fun games with a fun story. Nice photomode too. Playing with things like filters can be interesting also.

Also let's do some more from Spiderman as if ever a game was made to have a photomode this would be the one.

Let's have a few more seeing as I've happened to come upon a nigh mythical, mysterious, notoriously elusive artifact known colloquially as a PS5 recently.

Nice screen shots. ^^
Yeah it's fun capturing a lot of good ones from the game. Oh I remembered Mass Effects. I played all three of them, though I never had a chance to actually finish the third game. I don't remember much of the other Mass Effect game, that was supposed to be some kind of a prequel? I guess it didn't really catch my interest.

Thanks. I've been working on a video with all my PS4 games actually but that will no doubt take a while longer. I'm thinking it may even end up more than an hour long with everything I'd like to have in there eventually. Having the PS5 has put something of a hitch on these plans as although it has superior recording faculties in many ways it's also a bit more fiddly but well more to the point I'm having just a little trouble stopping playing it. Been a while since anything like that ever happened. I'm considering re-recording some games such as the Death Stranding Director's Cut PS5 version for the superior quality although rendering at higher resolution is something of a no go. I don't have a 4K TV screen anyway but even 1080 is troublesome for my rendering setup.

In any case the photos are a lot better so let's do a few more:

Your welcome. ^^
These are nice photos. yeah, I have had trouble using video and photo captures, as I can't always tell when it's on or not, or even working. I don't understand the mechanics how it works, since I'm not tech savvy. Nor do I even have the patience to figure it out. I've always had a bad history with tech stuff on numerous occasions. I'd be just like that guy from the "Office Space" movie scene where the guy beats up a printer machine with a baseball bat. LOL I often joke with tech support in asking, "I understand it's user friendly, but is it ME friendly?" LOL Yeah, it's that bad with me. XD

But that's cool that you're working on another video. I plan on sharing my fan character trailer video later today. It's a fun little project that I did awhile back, after being inspired by the SoulCalibur6 character trailers I saw. So I did one of my in-game persona, even included some of my gameplay footage which I had no idea the PS4 recorded them all along. XD I guess I saved myself the trouble and just edit bits of my gameplay into the trailer. XD I can't wait to post it soon. Not sure how long it takes for the video to get approved. I didn't noticed when my two part fan video got approved. Maybe it takes a day? Well in any case, I plan on posting it later today. :)

When I first noticed photo mode I wondered what it was honestly or why it existed. The PS4 has the facilities but they are threadbare if straightforward and merely functional with their caveats. I found as I said at the start here eventually that having the option there is actually a lot of fun just to take a closer look at what's happening.

The PS5 suite of features ends up being a bit more fiddly but is far more intuitive and the photos in particular have been improved in both functionality and obviously resolution. The whole process feels more natural to me anyway and if anyone does enjoy this sort of thing as many evidently did I would indeed recommend the PS5 as the best I've seen anyway although of course you will always struggle to beat a high-spec PC but with the market at the moment that's particularly hard to recommend and even at the best of times the whole tech market seems like some kind of perverse blind dash into oblivion upgraded into a sprint these days.

I still use Windows XP on my main desktop. Just for reference. Also to say though I noticed your videos while I've been browsing the fact they're on Vimeo doesn't work for me and my lowly machine I'm afraid so I haven't had a moment to use one of my others and have yet to check anything out except to confirm my machine doesn't like it. It doesn't like much anymore online at least. I've ended up moving further toward consoles and the ease of use is still a tangible advantage as well as the price and certainty that whatever appears on it should indeed work very predictably for a long while to come.

But anyway I've rambled quite enough for the moment. Some more photos:

I guess I'll look into buying a PS5 sometime in the future. ^^
I do struggle a lot with technology. I'll have to get with the program of things eventually. ^^

Oh snap...I looked up about certain windows and found several reads about how Microsoft, stopped supporting Windows XP and stuff. Darn...I was hoping you'd get to enjoy watching them. I used to have my student film posted on you tube years ago, but despite it being a student film, it got muted because of the soundtrack thing. I guess somehow they singled me out, cause there were plenty of people's fan videos that used existing soundtracks too. In any case, I made an account on Vimeo and was lucky enough to have it there. I had to make another account there though cause I um...forgot my password, and the password to my old email. ^^;

That reminded me how when I first joined this community site, a lot of users had been using computer terms when they mentioned certain button inputs, like 66B or 2A. etc. And it used to always go over my head. LOL I didn't know what many of them were talking about, since I never played, well, actually I played computer games before, but I was little. But hearing about those terms in later years, I had no idea they were referring to the keyboard on the PC. I always had a preference of the console, since it was just easier for me to say, forward B, instead of the cryptic numbers. I had to keep looking at my keyboard to figure out what button inputs they were saying. But I sort of caught on a little bit. XD

It's ok. I appreciate your company online. Thanks for the conversation. It's been very quiet around here when ever I drop by.
It seems most users are more active on their live streams. That must be the latest social rave now a days. I don't even know how to do live streams personally, but even if I learned how to do it, I don't have the luxury of time to indulge in it. I got too much going on in my life, which isn't really a bad thing. There's just never a dull moment for me. Hehe. ^^

Sweet! These are really good visual perspective you captured. The first one there, looks interesting like an epic aftermath of a battle. That perspective with the motorcycle looks really cool and epic. I also like that last image perspective where the camera angle is looking up, like a defeated person's point of view. I think there's a film term, if I remembered correctly it was called...superior shot? Darn, I forgot most of the film terms. I used to study filming in college. I think it's superior shot. The opposite of this perspective would either be "birds eye view" or Inferior shot. Perhaps both. These are great visual shots. And the great thing about photo captures in game, is they make for great visual references for art also. That reminded me of the time when I often paused the fighting game, to attempt drawing certain action poses. Soul Calibur games have plenty of incredible action moves to view and I thought it was especially interesting that they had that for a viewing option in the photo capture when you're in customize mode. You can set the action in slow motion, which makes it easy to clearly view the animation. ^^

Let's do a few more from Control before I start rambling again. I do enjoy the abstract structure and nature of 'the oldest house' which is the setting for this game. Definitely one of my favourites especially on the PS5 with the even more fancy graphics.

I studied media too, movies, photography all that sort of thing. It's nice to have these terms so everyone knows what's being referred to but the thing that always put me off was the semantics of it all. This is to say when someone takes a picture or makes a movie, writes a book, draws a picture they do it because it means something to them. Perhaps terms even get invented to describe their techniques. We can all accept that much right? But when they show it to someone else it may mean completely different things and yet something else to another person and who's to say who is 'correct'?

It's fine to have these discussions as clearly there's always something different to uncover which is particularly relevant when it comes to fiction but in this way it quickly becomes meaningless when no one can ever be 'correct' and I myself prefer not to pretend that's not true rather simply accepting that as long as it remains as such trying to express any kind of truth beyond the immediately obvious which is to say what it means to any particular person is an exercise in futility like trying to reach the boundary of the horizon. You'll never actually manage it always merely managing to overlook what's important as there's simply far too much to ever truly account for.

I think the best real world example to use in this, like in practically all things for me, is the Bible. In the Bible we see what it means to state the absolute truth for all to see with no room for embellishment or cover to hide behind from it. But is it not still at the very least like these things? It can still mean different things to different people for the very same reasons mentioned above. Nonetheless the writers of the Bible even accounting for translation have stated exactly and honestly the meaning behind their own words even by their own words here which defines what it means to be honest and this is what's important here.

This phenomena is described by Jesus both within and by the Parable of the Sower. He describes a scenario to the people which in this way means many things to many different people. He then later explains the nature of the parable to his disciples to whom the secrets of which are given under the heavens. So I can post a GIF for instance and I could waste my time explaining to everyone exactly what it might mean to me at the time no doubt overlooking these most important details regarding it and if not lacking in honesty I might be mistaken. I might change my mind later. Ones own feelings can be the most deceptive. Really it is what it is just like the Bible says what it says and if you only look at it superficially as such you could waste years even a lifetime studying these things and come out perhaps weighed down in knowledge that may seem somewhat useful at best or alternatively a useless burden no one else will ever care to understand being no wiser for the effort. Philosophy. In a word.

It all comes down to the person when it comes to meaning. Honesty. If we ignore this we miss out on what's most important about the actual meaning. A person can be as honest as God yet still be mistaken, misinterpreted, or miss out things they themselves later think were important and perhaps they always will because they are just a person in reality. The truth of it which is to say the Word of God is what the Bible most directly expresses. Simply the honest truth as the absolute truth of all things as stated would take forever to write. Longer to understand. There wouldn't be enough paper to write on even energy in the universe to accomplish it. It is simply what is and what isn't, like say that, is a lie. This is what is truly taught by the Bible in of itself. The nature of this discernment of meaning. It's something we can never learn enough about and should never stop listening for as there is always something new, different perspectives, things we may have missed the first time if in fact there were a rational and/or reasonable way to not do those things as it is literally everything that there is in the world and even beyond the world.

Wow! Those photos from the game looks so realistic in black and white. And then in color, it, for some reason I can see it's from a video game.
And wow, that was very deep and profound what you just shared about truth and the word of God. I was pretty blown away. XD
Thanks for sharing that. ^^ Reading what I read, had me like, it will take some time for me to process this. I had to um...look up online what semantics actually mean. XD I may have learned something new today. This was impressively profound. ^^

I had to take a moment to really digest what I read. ^^
That's so true. There is always something new to learn about the truth. I have to look at everything with a child like, curiosity, and never come to the conclusion that I have arrived at any certain point of contentment in knowledge. What there is to learn, is certainly a life time process. Oh snap...there have been many things that blew my mind, that I struggle to elaborate in words. While I was thinking, I'm reminded about how my emotions, do in fact cloud my perspective. When ever I put how I feel to the side, however, I allow myself more room to see so much more clearly the things that are going on. Emotions are good as driving forces, but if left uncheck, it's like a bump on the road that causes a car with no steering to veer in whatever direction the impact affect it. It really is easy to overlook certain details.

Something that I also realized too. The writers of each book in the new testament, shared their account from different perspectives. I'm not sure I understand the gif image statement, but I am reminded from reading this statement, that eye witness accounts, shared by different people from different perspectives, point out towards a truth, in much like how I can say, the bus looks square from the front, while the person standing to the side of it, says it appears rectangular. If I have never seen an actual bus before, I could easily misunderstand what it really is.

This really gave me food for thought though. Thanks for sharing this. ^^

Well I've had a couple of off days so to speak which is to say I used my puppet account to visit twitter briefly although if visiting twitter is what is truly to be considered off surely the problem is not the visitor but twitter itself and the less said about that the better.

I haven't done so much suffice to say. I don't have any new photos for the moment although I still have plenty I've yet to show I'd like this thread to be more of a current affair where people can actively discuss the games they're playing if they'd like as it relates to what they're currently engaged by.

I'm glad you enjoyed my little discourse about meaning. It's certainly nice to hear once in a while at least. I found myself a little inspired so to speak actually and as I had a moment I decided to make a dialogue of my experience with the Soul Calibur franchise as it think it's fair to assume that's the main reason everyone is here at all even though nothing exists in a vacuum and there is little more abhorred by nature if anything at all a vacuum being the very definition of nothingness.

As for the GIF thing it's just my way of relating things mainly with people who are familiar with my posts in the past. I'm not sure there's actually anything there to 'understand' honestly. It's like sometimes things are just obvious. Sometimes people overlook the obvious in favour of their own subjective desires building complexity where none exists. It's just a GIF. What's there is there and in of itself it means nothing more than that. Nothing that isn't entirely subjective. It can mean many things to many people as I said. No one is correct unless they simply say he posted so and so GIF. Which is just obvious so of course no one ever just says that.

People say odd things like perhaps we're all living in a simulation. Why? Why do people entertain such madness? It is clearly the definition of such the definition being the inability to differentiate between what is objectively real being the opposite of 'simulated' or imagined. What's ironic is in a way it is all true. All reality is imagined. When one goes to sleep one may dream of impossible landscapes. One may even realise they are impossible. One may even become lucid within the dream. To them it is as real as when they are awake. All reality is a product of consciousness in every practical sense if not fundamentally real fully equating with imagination and even physics seems to agree that each person occupies the centre of the universe. Their universe effectively. As if the universe itself were a dream. If one were to further question this there is only one question. Whose dream is it?

Now we've entered truly mind-bending territory I think a little more Control is in order. Appreciate the nice comments about the previous ones by the way. Hope you'll enjoy these also:

These are also very impressive photo shots. ^^

Yeah, I always thought that was what many users in this community were here for, to share their thoughts on the beloved franchise. ^^
I see. yeah, some images are just as it appear to be and nothing more.

Yeah, those are very deep thinking. Amazing, that the function of a computer would be modeled after our brain, in the way that it can process information, that even the inner workings of our mind, and how our body functions are all part of intelligent design. The solar system, wouldn't be considered a system, unless there was some sort of regulation in keeping the gravity and the distance of the earth from the sun in place. If we were any closer to the sun, we'd all burn. It's a scary thought to think that there isn't anyone making sure, we don't drift any closure. XD Coincidences and chances are too chaotic and unpredictable. Regulations of any kind requires personal occupation. Indeed, everything does point out to God, who is the author of our life. It's very interesting and profound. ^^

Interesting to think about I suppose but I believe not in chance. Fortune is the last most ancient yet most modern of mythologies. All signs point to intelligent design and without that there could be no myths all of which originate as a result of pure chance which is to say as a result of fanciful desire and wishful thinking.

Thinking of it in terms of chaos if we take that as a given as it is which is to say inherently destructive and opposed to order we see it is little more than the dreams we imagine called fear which by fear find itself into the world through our version of intelligent design. Which is to say stupidity. Think of it like a lie. The lie does not exist. What it is is the definition of untruth. What claims to be there yet nonetheless is not at least not as it would itself claim.

Yet every lie is beholden to the truth just as chaos is beholden to order in order to have any place it can propagate itself. Left on their own by their inherently false nature they are inevitably driven naturally into the state of entropy by their own fleeting power. The truth doesn't require 'proof' so to speak. Do I need to convince someone they woke up this morning and did all the things they did? Or anyone need convince me I did the things I did? We're straying back into the territory of the obvious it seems. As the old idiom goes, 'the proof is in the pudding'.

The lie or chaos on the other hand requires this belief. This power. Why? It has none of it's own used up before the universe began as their own nature defines this eventual state of entropy. It is a falsity. It only exists because it is lent this power of belief. This is what fortune and chance really are. Leeches. Energy drains to no where at all. Oblivion.

Things within an imperfect yet ordered system may begin to appear random therefore people may begin to believe these things have power in of themselves. But absolutely nothing that happens is by chance alone. It is always a product of the system that created it and to identify the source one need look no further than that system. If one looks to the oblivion into which they inevitably run like water down a drain oblivion is all that awaits.

Nothing will ever change. The hand on the clock starts at 12 and it finishes at 12. The earth revolves around the sun again and again. These things do not change. This is the nature of time. We imagine many things can happen but in reality there is an unbroken chain of events that will occur regardless of artificial intention or desire. In reality it was never those things that need change neither was it in our power to change them.

There is no fortune or chance about it. All within the universe treads this fickle trail through entropy into sheer oblivion. We can either accept this fate and be pulled along with it by our fear or we ourselves can change. Take responsibility for ourselves and our own actions rather than relying on fickle agents, 'gods', myths all at the behest of the fanciful thinking of others based on the falsity of random chance to provide 'justice'.

And on that note:
Shadow of the Tomb Raider_46.jpg

Shadow of the Tomb Raider_1.jpg
Shadow of the Tomb Raider_3.jpg
Shadow of the Tomb Raider_7.jpg
Shadow of the Tomb Raider_41.jpg

I had to look up the word entropy.
At least I'm learning something new. LOL Very well said. Indeed, we do need to take responsibility of our own actions.
I've learned that when ever I look to resolve a life issue that I'm faced with, I start first with the man in the mirror and work my way from the inside out.
Somehow, I see things a lot clearer that way, as opposed to starting at any external thing going on around me. I may not be able to control what happens around me, but I can control how I respond to them. Though, self discipline is easier said than done. I've had my share of stumbles and failures, and it has taught me, well, I'm still learning not to be afraid to fail. it's bound to happen, but it becomes a platform that I can climb over, or add as a link that I can build bridges over troubled waters. I couldn't let my past, nor my environment, dictate me in anyway. I have to determine to be my own individual. I'm from the inner cities, but I don't let the influence of the ghetto determine how I should speak and act. That would make me as they say, "a product of the environment". Not my M.O. I don't want to be no social clone, or in the gaming world, some random "NPC". LOL NPC's are pretty much clone characters or background characters that are there just to be there with no major purpose except to occupy the created world. Real life seems to be something like that around me, and it's creepy how many folks around me talk and act the same, even dress the same. Well...generally speaking. XD

I was never good at fitting in, especially when it comes to "cliques" or whatever inner circle of friends I see. But I learned to stand out as my own individual. Not an easy thing to do, since, I come off a bit as an oddball, but I've grown much more confident. :)

Oh hey, Tomb Raiders. Awesome photo images. ^^

I had the feeling we may be somewhat similar. I've never fit in and I spent so long at the beginning of my life looking for my place in everything. That's where I learned the inevitable folly of it. Sometimes people are just jerks. When people are pleased to be jerks the results of trying to please them become very obvious. Sadly the temptation is to be just like them and so often I see now how that goes. People treating each other badly accusing others of treating each other badly somehow managing to end up blindly believing the 'winner' is the biggest jerk.

I remember watching a guy named Sam Witwer's streams on twitch. Aside from being a big Star Wars fan and buff he's the guy who played Starkiller in The Force Unleashed and also Soul Calibur 4 as a guest. He would always say about that fandom that the grand message of the franchise was 'don't be a jerk'. You have to admire his simplicity of thinking even if it's never been that simple. He always had great stories to tell also.

I honestly don't believe there is a 'grand message' anyone can say which will make things better even when it's something like Star Wars with millions of fans and what not. Surely if there were there could be no jerks left by now. Or Star Wars. Or anything we know as things would be so very different. I think the only message is more subtle. In the subtext. Not the subtext of movies. Still superficial. What it takes to make movies. Not just movies. Anything really. What it is to be successful and it really is that simple even if when I tell people this so often they accuse me of making it out to be easy. It's about being consistent which anyone who's dealt with issues regarding addiction would tell you is far from easy.

Simple doesn't mean easy. It just means you understand what you need to do. Perhaps it seems complicated but when you were a child everything seemed complicated and insurmountable. You couldn't grow up fast enough so you could supposedly do more. Sadly it seems we are in such a rush to 'grow up' we miss the point practically every time left on our own. That is if we think one should ever really stop. Growing up is a physical process out of our actual control that will stop at some point literally but what I'm referring to is learning. When you learned things suddenly the mist fell away and you saw them as they actually were for the first time.

Even if it was a literal process you can look back at how it was before and it's almost as if it happened in an instant every time and perhaps it really did at that. It's just always going to be more than you can process. Kind of like how if you think about it which is to say think about thinking and how that happens you draw a blank as the energy you would use to think is being used to think and the idea that a system of that complexity can describe itself is profoundly unattainable. But mainly utterly pointless.

One never needed know how it happens. You simply know that it does which is and was always enough. If the idea of knowing would also mean you could no longer do it would you even want to know? Ironic that so many seem to think this is something people should want to achieve. In my youth I also studied the brain. That was when I stopped studying their 'science' for good. I can't explain how I knew this or even that I knew this at the time. I just did so I walked away. As a wise man once said if the brain were so simple we could understand it we would be too simple to understand.

As you say though 'start first with the man in the mirror' because if you can't fix their problems you aren't going to get very far fixing anything else are you? Seems impossible to me anyway. But enough about all that. I've been playing something a little different:
