Well, it's not like I can just call up Kayane or Tokido and say "Hey, I need to sample some data on matchup. Help me out" Lol, I just pulled the fights from online. Also, the stuff you just mentioned is whole other conversation that I'd rather not have here. So you thought all of the Violas sucked?
I would recommend if you want to do something like that you get two high-level players who main Sieg/Viola to play one another with the characters and see how they go to give you an idea. From low-level play, it doesn't really mean too much, and Siegfried is an amazing scrub-killer, I'll give him that, so at low-level play he kind of dominates, along with most spacing characters, because people new to the game are usually terrible at dealing with spacing.
I welcome your complaints. Feel free to voice them. As far as the analysis, of course, it's not a perfect metric. I think it has some value, even if just a little. I think it's great for looking at casually. Now, if I wanted to take this idea a step further, I would do some hard statistics, which is something I've been thinking about doing for a while now, but it's a lot of work. I'm not offended in any way, and I doubt you have to worry about offending anyone else. And again, there wasn't one Viola player. They were all different.
No offense, but if it is being used to analyse the match-up, could it be a Viola player who has some Siegfried match-up knowledge and also knows how to step? I only watched the first match and it was painful to see what the Siegfried player was getting away with. Also the Viola player didn't seem to know more than 6B+K either...
This video should be used to help one analyze this particular matchup.
Guys, I think you have a misunderstanding. This is a compilation of fights of Violas vs Siegfried. If you look at the ranks, you can see that they are not the same. All of the Violas are different.
Siegfried does barely any damage. He needs two hits to get as much damage as most characters get with one hit. SCH B does 48 and can get a clean hit, but that's easily stepped and I didn't see this Viola player step even once during the first two matches (I stopped watching after that).
What mix-up game exactly? Are you referring to the post 3B/wr B on block mix-up?
well then nerf his damage. his mixup game is too strong.
Considering Sieg is one of the slowest characters in the game (I would say second slowest behind Astaroth), nerfing his speed seems a bit ridiculous. Also if by recovery you mean make his moves more unsafe, he already rather unsafe as is.
i think this is a bad example. the Sieg player was clearly better.

i do think that Sieg needs a nerf though. considering hes one of, if not the best mixup characters, his speed or recovery should receive a slight nerf.

viola on the other hand is fine compared to zwei or raph. now they can use a buff.
