Soul Calibur V Raphael - Nerfs? Buffs? Change Of Style?

lol. Using step is far better than trying to use VE to evade
iWS B = instant WS B, that is whereby you quickly go into crouch via 2G and immediately release to perform a WS attack. I abuse WS B. All raphs should.

step beats iwsB :(

I like 2B followed by WSB (on hit obviously).

wsB can catch people stepping too earlly to raph's left really well (as in it'll actually track at raph's optimal range)

and 2B into wrB can be interrupted by any BB faster than i17... but then again I was never a fan of raph at crouch. I hate to be a by-the-frame guy, but if you can consistantly time your step from crouch right after a 2B (on hit or block) it'll be a lot better (sorry I do not like relying on 4A)

4A needs to stun on CH, as it is, the risk outweigh the reward, the evade is damn good though. But it's negative on hit, what the cuss.

it'd be tough because 4A is super evasive AND a really well tracking horizontal high AND GOOD range.

still high and unsafe and low damage. A lil combo dmg will be nice, nothing to massive, but something to make the risk worth it

2B is good due to 2 tings:
-i16 punisher
-range

Don't think many ppl will attack with BB cause they risk to whiff the first hit....
At closer range there is 2B WRB/2K/WRK/4K options are so many that opponent is not so prone to attack...well except few characters

The ONLY reason you would ever use 2B over 3B is if they're grounded or super crouched. 3B is so much better on block and hit and has noticeably better range (actually i believe 3B whiffing may be slightly more vulnerable, even assuming you can SEA out of a high punish.. so that makes 2 things).

to tell the truth i use it everytime i block a moves that sets raph unaligned...

3B will whiff where 2B will hit.
Moreover 2B keeps the spacing 3B do not.

So i like 2B at tip.

Surprised by the lack of Raph SC5 discussion:

Anything about design, gameplay, costume that anyone can speculate/wish?

His chance of returning is both strong and weak at the same time:

1) Easy beginner character to start with
2) Was important character storywise (SC2 only)
3) Being a supernatural being could explain his enhanced longevity
4) Or he could be one of those capable 50 year olds (like villains in movies)

But

1) Amy exists and could take away his movelist

Here's to raph finally getting his due in SC5!

I hope the whole game changes honestly. If SC5 was SC2 with next gen graphics I would be lining up to play.
