SCV Voldo Revealed - Creepier Than Ever!

I dislike his furry costume. His Alt is okay but I look forward to being able to do a custom voldo and hope he still has his SC2 mask.

I've got two new videos for you guys that I'll analyze. They are basically the same match but split into two parts. Lots of good new stuff is shown here!

This video is the best of the two in showing new stuff for Voldo. I'll try and break it down as best I can.

  • Right off the bat we see a new launcher for Voldo. I'm going to guess the input is 22B, and causes Voldo to recover in BS. There's a similar version of this in BS that is a canned 2 hit combo that ends with the BS 66K. You'll see that in this video as well. Looks really sweet!
  • He has the same BS 22A from SC4
  • He still has 2A+B that can transition into CR. It looks like he has his old CR BB back which can also be done by doing WR BB. His 236B in SC4 might be done by inputting 236A+B now (this was how it was inputted in SC2 and SC3) So 2A+B~236BB seems to be guaranteed.
  • Same 22K from SC4
  • Same WR K from SC4, but it looks like it'll automatically transition into BS. No need to hold K anymore for that.
  • It looks like his 44_77_11A is now 66A
  • Same 236K from SC4
  • Same BS 6K
  • BS WR K is still the same
  • Same FC 3B
  • Same BS 66A but it looks like it's just a single hit now, and possibly just a HIGH hit too
  • Video cuts off before match is over. On to part two.

  • His old BS 4B4B and 4B5B from SC2. This is one of the moves I'm sure old school Voldo players will be happy to see come back!
  • Same A+K auto-evade with 4_8_6_2A+K cancels built in. However it looks like [2_8]A+K will now transition first into Land Fish instead of MC. This might be an interesting change.
  • Of course he has MC B+K
  • His MC 66's look the same as they do in SC4. If it is slightly off axis, it'll whiff. Pretty disappointing.
  • Same MC A
  • Same BS 2B+K
  • Same MC A+B. You can still control the trajectory when Voldo flies up into the air.
  • Same BS 4A
  • Looked like Voldo got hit out of what would've been BS CR B. Same from SC4.
  • We finally get to see his CE! It did a really good ammount of damage too. This will definately be useful. For some reason, it looked unblockable too lol. I am sure that had to have been a glitch. Nice way to finish off the video.

Voldo is going to be a beast again it looks like. The damage output is there. Hopefully he is still safe as well.

i was thinking the same thing it looks alot like it tech traped right there

There was another video that mostly was someone trying things out with ZWEI, but there were 2 interesting parts.

First there is this part. He's in MCFT and in the middle of a hump animation he slithers to his feet and does a BBB.

Then over here the jumping throw in BS CR is going in the direction he's facing instead of at the opponent.

Wow. That is pretty interesting. It almost looks like an auto-evade in MC B+K. I wonder how that will work.

It looks like WR B now links into 2A+B as well, at least the delay between the two moves seemed very short compared to how it would look in SC4.

it's actually WR BB. He has this in SC2 and SC3. It can also be done in SC2 and SC3 by doing 236BB. His SC4 236B was 236A+B in sc2 and sc3. hope you're not confused.

So Enk, after WR BB he can do 236 for a fast transition into CR? I'm a little confused, does that mean you can do a loop 236BB236BB236BB... which would be very hard to interrupt? I'm sad that 236A+B doesn't seem to be in, I really love that move and for me it was one of his signature moves.

No, 2A+B and 236BB/WR BB work differently. 236BB/WR BB doesn't go into CR, but 2A+B still does. So in the video you have 2A+B 236 BB, and it ends there. It won't go back into CR after that. However, if it's like previous games you can hold the first B to transition into MCFT much like WR B did in SC4.

It'll probably still be there. It just changes commands sometimes. You get used to reassigned commands after a while with Voldo. You're right to consider it a signature move.
