SCV- New CHARACTER ideas

sodia_of_tales_of_vesperia_by_gooloo0_o-d45yo2r.jpg

I want to see another fallen knight character from the fight with Soul edge.

For me, I'd like to see...

-Vikinig/Barbarian character (his style can represent a normal sized battle axe)
-Dancer (I know SCIII did this for CAS but I'd actually like to see an official character represent the style and isn't all that crazy like Voldo lol)
-Aztec Character (Not sure about the weapon but I'd love to see a character under this type)
-Another Native character (who specializes in Dual Tomahawks. I would have said Lizardman is close to this but he still has his creature tendencies so that kind of killed the image for me...)
-Whip Warrior (I know Ivy's sword goes to a whip state but I'd actually like to see a character use a full authentic whip that doesn't transform into a sword if you get what I mean)
-Big Shield Knight (I'm not really sure how this could really work but maybe the character can use a big shield to fight with? I don't know, I think it sounds cool xD And I'm tired of the shields being so small lol)
-Authentic Spartan Warrior (Specializes in using a spear and shield combo)
-Spear Warrior (Specializes in using a spear as his main part of combat. I know Seong-Mina somewhat represents this style though... I blame beig ispired of this weapo concept thaks to Lord Buson of Genji: Days of the Blade lol)
-Giant Club Warrior (I was thinking this warrior can use the Japanese kind of club "Kanabo")
-Kusarigama Warrior (I'm still kind of surprised they haven't made a warrior who specializes with the Japanese Kusarigama weapon. Granted, they did feature this as a custom weapon in SCIII, I'd like to see an official character represent this style.)
-Bow & Arrow Warrior (I actually saw an example of this in a game called Samurai Showdown. I forgot the girl's name who used this weapon but it worked quite well so come on Namco, give it a try ;) )

EDIT: I thought of some more styles I think they should try. ^_^
-Egyptian/Arabian Warrior (I'm shocked that they included Egyptian levels in SCII/III/IV but never included a warrior like it. I really think they should include one. He should use an Egyptian styled sword or for the proper term, the "Khopesh". Or also try using the "Scimitar" which is a middle eastern sword. Either way, they should definitely include a character of this archetype.)
-Victorian Inspired character (Female or Male)

Damn, I have so many ideas but those are some of my more favorite ones. Screw it, If I ever get to make my own game company, I'll make my own Weapon combat fighting game series. xD

I actually like the idea of a shield warrior. It could be a mostly defensive character, with lots of special grabs and good tools to punish.

I had decided to post another video This features my Main Character Kyoshiro ( i would say Yoshimitsu would be in a world of hurt for a destined battle with this guy), Anyways.... I was thinking about what one of the other members mentions about Viola by : AMillionHP. if you go to 11:20 of the video that would be a Awesome costume for Viola I think!
And too bad Viola don't have all those magic ablities as this Character

I really like these ideas. The Aztecs had a sort of four-sided club. I forget the name of it, but it would be a good weapon for him/her to have. I'd love to see an Aztec/Mayan or something of the like. They would be so different from everyone else. If and Aztec makes it, I hope to see a jaguar pelt in the 1p costume and highly decorative armor with feathers on it for the 2p. Or maybe the other way around, haha.

As much as I'd like to have a Spartan, it would be too far off the time of the game for me. I would forgive the time gap if said character had an unblockable kick attack that knocked people onto their backs. He has to shout "THIS IS SPARTA!" during the attack, of course.

And yeah, a character with a tower-shield would be awesome. Maybe in conjunction with a traditional longsword? He/she could bulldoze people with the shield as well as have the longsword. Of course, a tower-shield would block high/mid/low all at once...

An archer could be cool... But I'm not sure I like the idea of ranged attacks being so prevalent in a moveset. SC III had a few CaS styles that had some ranged attacks (and then there is of course Cervy and Algol), but I don't think I'd like to see a character dependent on ranged attacks.

@Habast

Yeah, I most definitely would want to see an Aztec character for sure. I just pray they make him/her very well represented in terms of outfit design, I really love authenticity when it comes to characters.

I laughed at the Spartan comment but really, I guess I'm saying this because I don't really like the stances of Pyrrah and Patroklos, they look so awkward so I thought maybe a Spartan warrior would be cool lol.

That's a very good innovative idea for the towering shield but yeah, it could cause for an unbalanced style...

And you're right about the archer. I just remember seeing a character use this type of weapon in Samurai Showdown and I was suprirsed they made such a thing work in a game like that but then again, they also had a character who used a rifile weapon as well soo...haha

Definitely. I like how they are turning out, but I'd like to see a MANLY sword and shield (or spear and shield) character. Spear/shield would actually be cooler, I think. Could be a Greek/Roman styled character or Zulu-like character. Either way, I'd be happy.

Well, it is an interesting idea, I just don't think it would turn out that well in SC. There could be an archer that fights with a sword or something and then pulls out his bow for an unblockable (much like Cervy's gun).

Yeah, you're right. I mean, I'm sure I'll at least like Pyyrah and Patroklos' moves howeve,r I hate Pyyrah's grabs so far, they just look so dumb and it's going to make it tough for when I make a character who I'd want to use a sword & shield because I was so used to Sophitia's stance which I think looked the most natural. Patroklos' attacks look brutal and I love that but at the same time, his stance just looks awkard because he's like literally leaving his chest open and well, that doesn't seem really safe haha. But yeah, a spear and shield combo would be quite cool. Greek/Roman or Zulu would be great.

And yeah, that could work. If you played SCII on the Gamecube port, they had Link who used both a sword, bow, boomerang, and bomb. :)

I still have never got to, though I've always wanted to try Link out. I have it for PS2. Heihachi wasn't the best choice there, IMO.

If by "works" you mean "is too slow to chain into anything and high telegraphing makes it useless at range" (I think there 1 combo with it in a juggle)

An archer won't work, this game is a physical thrust (gesture) based combat game, not long ranged. Unless the archer was going to hit you with the bow in different ways it won't work/

Another freak character like Voldo, Yoshimitsu and Olcadan would be funny.

That fighting style looks hilarious to.

Also to fill the big shield and spartan roles at the same time, who better then Leonidas himself?

How I picture a Bow & Arrow character :

Can use the bow at long/mid range ( much like Ezio )
Uses the bow as a blunt weapon + a dagger at short range, and can shoot fast arrows in combos
All is UB and CE,BE... should be based on shooting arrows

That could work right ?

Not much different from Ezio from a gameplay standpoint. I hope, moreso than with any other previous guest character, that his style is replicated in a new character one day or they renew the rights to use him again.

You should try it someday, you might like it. I personally enjoyed using Link and he fit into the series just fine. I loved how they designed him as well, he looked so cute haha. But yeah, give it a try some day, you might enjoy it. I still play it today.
And I had a feeling Hehaichi wasn't the best choice for the PS2 port. I haven't played it but when I saw that Hehaichi was the guest character, I was like "Really.. But he doesn't use a weapon..."

Nice picture post, they could totally make a warrior like that if they wanted to try it out. Though I think he'd only use the arrows as an unblockable attack (like Cervantes' gun) or when he does a critical edge.

And I think that Namco might make an assassin character who was inspired by Ezio in maybe Soul Calibur 6. I hope so anyway.

Both those concepts look great! Especially the Spartan warrior. I wat to most see the Spartan example like the one you posted. Authenticity is what I'd like to see with him with both outfits and the way he fights.

And the Ganesha picture is so awesome! He should be a guest character in Soul Calibur haha.
