I think if there is a character to be revealed, it will be neither hwang or liz
This is the part where I draw the line with my pessimism lol. I only doubt the exclusion of Aeon and Hwang because I have doubts we will be seeing more characters for the base roster after Raphael has been revealed. But this is all because I am basing this off of the rumors and leaks that are flying around and those leaks imply Hwang and Lizardman being next in line for inclusion (though rumors and leaks do point to the roster being compete).

I'm inclined to believe that if there's any reason for Hwang and Aeon's exclusion in the base roster, it would be that Bandai Namco could not finish them in time for release. If there are more characters left to be revealed, I believe that Hwang and either Aeon or Lizardman will be the next characters. Hell, if all four small white circles from the Melbourne build are characters for the base roster then throw in Rock and maybe even a new character in there.

Have we even seen characters use 2P weapons in game? Or is it just CAS that showed it off?

Are 2P weapons even in the game? If there’s no 2P costume then there’d be no point for a 2P weapon

Yes, Ivy's weapons were shown in the modes trailer, and her second weapon is her Valentine (2P). She was also shown wielding it in the same trailer, against the Mitsurugi character who was using Tyrfing. It's interesting that by including 2P weapons, they seem to be foregoing joke weapons, because Ivy did not have a joke weapon shown. She had Valentine (1P), Valentine (2P), Dream Blade, Alraune, Kaleidoscope, Viper Edge, and Soul Edge.

Doesn’t that look like there is only one row though?

Nah, it doesn't. Zasalamel, Grøh, Azwel, and Geralt are missing, which would be one more row, but in that Tira, at the very least, would also be missing, then there have to be two rows. Inferno, also being likely, would necessitate another row, even without Tira. And then there's the other two empty slots to be filled on the main roster, which would complete the second additional row, at 24.

nah, the way they have the scrollbars in 6 seems to be proportional to the amount of rows shown on screen and the remaining rows, roughly 1/2 of the bar can fit into the remaining space. There's 4 rows shown, 6 theoretically in total. meaning the bar is 2/3 of its full size

here's an example with 9 rows and 1 theoretical row remaining
1.jpg

and here's a 9 row with 2 or maybe even 3 theoretical rows remaining

and here's the same screen lined up with the above shot

Raph is too non-hype for final character reveal, but is marginally more popular than the 2 speculated, but then the leak kind of ruined it.
Hwang is also non-hype for final character reveal, but is maybe popular in Korea?
Lizardman is also non-hype for final character reveal, but at least brings some levity/humor
But together, announnced all at once on TGS, they are more than able to create hype.

Alright, so I've done some investigating and some translating to get some more information from the modes trailer, particularly about the two screenshots from the museum for the weapons, to see if they put any hints in there. I've gathered that it does appear that each character is going to be getting 7 weapons, that joke weapons don't appear to be a thing (or if they are, then they're not in the museum, but that doesn't make any sense, because joke weapons were in the museum in prior games), and also that not every character is going to get a Soul Edge, so the theory that everyone's seventh weapon is going to be Soul Edge for Inferno to use as a mimic is also out the window. So it just happens to be that Ivy is apparently getting Soul Edge for the first time, not counting Soul Edge (Complete) from SoulCalibur II, because everyone got one of those. Another thing of note is that it also doesn't appear that 2P weapons for everyone is going to be a thing, since none of the folks in the museum seem to have them.

6YTSksZ.jpg

So, starting us off with the first screenshot, we're in Xianghua's territory. We don't see her first weapon (even though, without a doubt, it's Krita-Yuga), but we do see her other six weapons, as follows:
Qing Long
Makhaira
Kard
Northern Star
Straight Sword
Soul Calibur

Pretty standard fare for Xianghua, really, though she is inheriting Makhaira from Leixia. There is a potential (!) red flag here, in that she also has QIng Long, which was Leixia's curved sword stand-in for lack of a Korean swordsman in SoulCalibur V. That being said, Xianghua did have this weapon in SoulCalibur II, but it went by a different name, Qi Xing Sword, so I wouldn't take it, in and of itself, as a deconfirmation of Hwang. Though it is notable that Xianghua did not have it in SoulCalibur III or SoulCalibur IV, as Hwang had it in SoulCalibur III and Yun-seong had it in SoulCalibur IV, so it's... let's just call it a 50/50. There's still plenty of curved swords to go around, after all.

Next up is Yoshimitsu! Let's see what he has in store:
Manji Sword & Fu-ma Blade
菩提 (Bodhi? As in Bodhisattva? New weapon?)
Kagekiyo
Phantom Machete
Chevalier
Wooden Swords
Hihiirokane

It's mostly, pretty much, almost exactly his weapon loadout from SoulCalibur V, with the addition of his classic ultimate weapon, Hihiirokane, which will for sure be nice to see again in all its crimson glory. I'm pretty sure my translation here is accurate, and I'll go ahead and address the weird elephant in the room... it actually appears that Yoshimitsu, the man whose name is supposed to be earned by his possession of the sword, Yoshimitsu, does not actually, in fact, use the sword Yoshimitsu! I'm personally chalking this up to the fact that in the story, Voldo steals Yoshimitsu from Yoshimitsu, and so, in the meanwhile, he's using Manji Sword as a temporary stand-in. It's just kinda weird that none of his other weapons are Yoshimitsu, either, for when he reclaims it. I'm really not sure about the second weapon, either, as he's never had a weapon by this name.

And, lastly, the highlighted weapon on the page is... Nightmare's Soul Edge. Nothing really special to say here, kind of a shame we can't see what other fun weapons that NIghtmare will be able to wield in this game. Oh well. On to page two!

OtNmf0S.jpg

This time, we're looking at Mitsurugi's exotic blades. Again, his first weapon is missing, like Xianghua's, but we can practically guarantee that it's Shishi-oh. What about the rest? Let's see:
Damascus Sword
Tyrfing
Hide in Shadow
Two-Handed Sword
Kokuenra
Masamune

I guess Tyrfing wasn't good enough, because we also have the classic European-style sword again, the Two-Handed Sword! I'm actually really happy about this, since I vastly prefer its design over Tyrfing. The others are pretty much staples for Mitsurugi, and it's nice to see that he got the real Masamune back this time. It's nice to see Kokuenra making a return as well.

Moving on, the next in line is none other than Seong Mi-na! Who has a couple oddities in her list:
Scarlet Thunder
翠雲 (Green/Jade/Emerald Cloud? New weapon?)
Ambassador
Halberd
Hraesvelgr
Hyup Do
太古の槍 (Ancient Spear/Lance? New weapon?)

I'm not sure if it's just the blur, my awful vision, my rudimentary ability to decipher kanji, or somewhere inbetween, but I just have no idea what the second one is supposed to be. Not even a little bit of a clue. The obvious choice would be Defender, but that would be written in katakana, so that's not it. The rest of her weapons are basically exactly what she had in SoulCalibur III and SoulCalibur IV, and the last one, I'm not for sure. It's Ancient... something! Again, I just can't decipher the last kanji, so maybe someone more skilled than I can figure it out. But I really have no idea what it could be, perhaps another new weapon like Yoshimitsu's Bodhi(sattva)? Last weird thing is that Hyup Do (pictured) really seems out of place, since it's usually lower in the chain. Hraesvelgr is somewhat her ultimate weapon, even! I wonder what's up with the ordering.

And last, but not least, but also not very exciting, we have Taki's Rekki-Maru & Mekki-Maru. Nothing else really to say about them.

Edit: Added translation for Mi-na's last weapon, thanks to @Ninjaguy446 for the assistance!

Edit 2: Added translation for Mi-na's second weapon, thanks again to @Ninjaguy446 for having sharp eyes!

So there's 6 rows guaranteed

meaning 1 of 3 things is true

1. this is for 21 characters sans tira
2. this is for 20 characters and tira with one base not included
3. this is for all 22 characters

this is my guesses for all 3 options

if 1 is true there are 7 weapons per character with a remainder of 2 (unlikely due to inferno having 7 weapon types, could be likely if there's another full character to be revealed but that in and of itself is unlikely)
if 2 is true there are 7 weapons per character with the non CaS having 2 (likely if it's azwel given algol couldn't be customized but inferno having multiple weapon types doesn't fit with the mimic molds from V where kilik had 2, elysium had 1, and edge master had 1. Alternatively it could be inferno that isn't CaSable)
if 3 is true there are 7 weapons per character with one CaS having only 2 (likely if it's inferno having 2 or if there are two mimics each having 1 weapon, two mimics also could mean top left spot and bottom right spot are not DLC and are edge master and inferno respectfully. This also makes the outside dots a DLC menu that could be accessed from either side. alternatively inferno could take middle, edge master top lef, and tira bottom right with the DLC menu buttons)

1 I don't think is gonna happen
2 I think is too inconsistent
3 Is too speculative unless it's just inferno with 2 weapons as edge master has never been leaked or any other mimic for that matter

I'm betting on 3 with just inferno but Azwel having multiple weapons does give me pause but algol had multiple "weapons" so it's not impossible

Excellent work, @DanteSC3 on the weapon translations. I watched the Modes trailer again with Ivy's weapon being shown and the 2nd weapon isn't Valentine(Ivy Blade) because as @DanteSC3 pointed out the 6 extra weapons per character are different weapons. It's true about SCVI having no 2P costumes. Usually in past Soulcalibur games there were 1P & 2P costumes + 1P & 2P weapons. I think Inferno, Aeon(Lizardman) & Hwang are the bonus characters because their are 249 weapons and 247 weapons divided by 7 weapons per character = 21 characters including Tira when downloaded. Inferno is just a mimic, Hwang, & Aeon may possible get one weapon each.

I don't even think Inferno can be the mimic anymore since Dante pointed out everyone doesn't have a Soul Edge.

Thanks to everyone, I'm just trying to do my part! :sc1min1:

Oh no, Ivy's second weapon is, without a doubt, Valentine (2P), as they are using the same models from SoulCalibur V, but they may make an attempt to mask this, through naming trickery. The first one is called "Ivy Blade", and the second one is called "Proxy", so it may be that in English they could be named "Ivy Blade" and "Prototype Ivy Blade" to avoid drawing attention to 1P/2P (or the lack of 2P costumes) by not giving them the same name.

Well, remember that, technically speaking, Elysium's Soul Calibur weapons were not available for use in SoulCalibur V, but the variant she used for Pyrrha was technically available, used by Patroklos. So Ivy (and Nightmare, of course) having Soul Edge, but others not having Soul Edge, doesn't necessarily confirm or deconfirm anything with regards to a mimic.

Edit: Formatting typo fix.

We're kind of operating under the assumption that the weapons showcased in the trailer are all there is. For all we know, there could be a bit more unlockable stuff (in regards to Soul Edge/Soul Calibur etc. weapons for characters.)

Speculation is nice, but let's always keep in mind that there is always the possibility of more that we haven't seen. Don't disappoint yourselves.

Well, technically Inferno in SC1 and 2 (and Charade for that matter) previously just used 1P/2P weapons.

But I'm starting to think we won't have Hwang, Aeon or Inferno playable. The last bottom row of the character select screen will just be the four DLC characters.

I really hope I'm just being overly pessimistic.

But the image we've seen of Inferno is with SE. So i dont think they'll design him to hold SE half the movesets and not for others.

Do you believe they'll do that again though? Make SE weapons strictly for him and not for the characters he's copying? I'll chalk that up to being another ridiculous design flaw with SC5. One i dont believe they would repeat.

I'm inclined to think that if they are showcasing a list of seven weapons for several characters, that must be all there is.

Could they use a video demonstration that specifically has most but not all weapons? Sure i suppose so but then why? I just feel like it would be an all unlocked or nothing unlocked sort of thing.

While that is true, as dumb as it may be, even though literally every character, including Talim and Xianghua, had a Soul Edge (Complete) weapon in SoulCalibur II, Inferno in SoulCalibur II still used everyone's primary weapons. If Nightmare's primary weapon in SoulCalibur II just happened to be Requiem, and Cervantes was still using Acheron, then Inferno in SoulCalibur II wouldn't actually use Soul Edge at all! It's kinda goofy, but I could see him having Soul Edge for Nightmare, and normal weapons for everyone else. They've done it before. In SoulCalibur, it was a limitation due to the fact that everyone only had one weapon. In SoulCalibur II, though, there was no excuse for Inferno not being able to use Soul Edge all the time, but he still didn't.

They may or may not make Soul Edge weapons for everyone, and same goes for Soul Calibur weapons for everyone. It seems a bit clashy, what with Libra of Soul allowing you to use any style for your character, and ostensibly being able to pursue one of the two swords, and it would be really lame if you only used it in cutscenes, and it was always Xianghua's variant (or Nightmare's variant, if you choose Soul Edge), but that, too, is possible, considering the sample character they used in the Libra of Soul trailer was using Mitsurugi's style, and in the cutscene where he was wielding Soul Calibur, it was definitely XIanghua's variant. Could be a placeholder, could be the final product. Only way to know for sure is when the game comes out, I suppose.
