After SCV is released, will anyone still play SCIV?

I'm on board with getting SoulCalibur V day one, but seeing everything that it offers, I'm not sure if I have a reason to keep playing SoulCalibur IV. I thought about playing both once I get SCV, but I know eventually I'm going to find myself stop playing SCIV and only stick with SCV. It just succeeds SCIV in almost every way possible (graphics, gameplay elements, guest character, stages, story, CaS, online, arcade, training, etc,) and offers a lot more than what SCIV had. I know some players will stick by SCIV because a number of characters won't be in SCV. But with the game being over 3 years old and players already knowing characters inside and out, is that a good reason to keep at it? Even if you keep SCIV for one or two characters, chances are you already know what to expect out of them since you've played them for so long. I'm also not sure if SCIV will remain in tournaments, since SCV will take up the spotlight in things related to SoulCalibur.

I'm not saying that SCIV is irrelevant (it's definitely not), but with it's age, balance flaws, online issues, lack of lasting content, and it's sequel just around the corner, I'll stick with the game that's better, up to date and has far less problems. What do you think? Is anyone going to give SCIV a rest once SCV comes around and balance both? Will you just drop it altogether? I think might pop it in on occasion for just a few minutes. But that's just it; I think I might. But I am done with that terrible online once SCV comes.

After playing SCV Maxi, i play SCIV i don't even pick him. I still play Voldo on the ocassions that i do play it since i will be dropping him in SCV.

Usually with 3D games people stop playing the old one when the new one comes out which will certainly be the case when SCV drops.

Most people stopped playing SC4 in 2009, so people moving onto SCV isn't a big deal in my opinion.

The one thing I won't do is sell my copy of the game. I wouldn't be where I am at now if I didn't enjoy playing the game.

No, I don't even have SCIV, I have SC:BD but I dunno, maybe I'll play it sometimes when I want to play with Kratos(Unless I'll be able to create decent one in SCV with Aeon)

No. I've never seen any reason to play any game once a sequel is released. This should be the case for anyone who's playing competitively, in my opinion.

Still, no doubt that, after lots of people here are exposed or the people who were garbage at previous iterations come back and get exposed yet again, there'll be lots of talk of one of the other iterations...with them continuing to not play said iterations.

People are crazy.

Actually yes, though probably not for the first week(I'll be MIA from other games, and the world in general during that period.) Solely because I'd miss the way Ivy played in that game, in fact I still play SC2 for the exact same reason. Of course, this will be a "from time to time" sort of thing. SCV will be what I play 95% of the time, non-soul related games 4%, and SCIV/SCII the remaining 1 percent.

I think I will, as I still play SC3 and 2. I think, though, that it will be a pretty rare occurrence once I get my hands on SCV. :D

I still play Soul Calibur 2, on my gamecube, and Soul Calibur 4 I will still be playing if :sc4sop1: doesn't join the roster in V as an unlockable, DLC, or someone I just encounter in the game itself. Good memories. Otherwise, it's V for me. But yeah, I get your view on knowing what to expect from any said character.

I don't play SC4 much right now anyway, but it all depends on how good SC5 is. Basically if I find a character fun enough and if I find enough time to master them, or if the netcode is DRASTICALLY better, then that will probably convince me to move over to SC5 for good. But if not, I'll stick to SC4 whenever I wanna play a fighting game with friends.

Nope. SC5 usurps 4 by a shit load. I could list a lot of things but I'll say one thing... Da gameplay speed. SC4 is too slow.

Maybe I'll pop SC4 in once in a while to hear Vader's japanese death cry repeating over and over again.

Hmmm...I actually still don't think SCIV was THAT bad of a game...If you can get pass its lack of content, slower pace, the retarded "Star Wars guest" idea [though the characters sans Yoda weren't that bad at all, the idea of addin' SW characters in a medieval fantasy fighter is too weird], the brokenness of Hilde, and the dumbness of Algol, that is. Would I go back to playin' it after SCV comes out? Hmmmm....It would be pret~ty hard for me to go back to all that bullshit after playin' a great game that pretty much fixed all of this, and more...
