I was playing around with him last night because I find him cool.
He is a complex character and I wanted to stray away from using Bubbles but i ended up using them in a wall and this came up. I have my biased opinion about Algol/Sailor Mercury, but nothing negative and it is my own.

Regardless, i figured out an infinite and a semi-infinite with him and it's fairly easy to do. All you need is a wall behind them. The opponent parralled to the wall slightly.
Just watch this vid.

Seems to work with anyone. Works better if you catch them backturned.
You can also check out the other vids from my channel.

Edit: I don't want this to turn out to be a ban discussion thread. Just wanted to show what I found out yesterday.

CH 1K doesn't guarantee ground bubble. It can be teched easily, without much tech trap threat I might add.

As for wall infinite, day 1 discovery, it isn't even an infinite, damage ends before Yoshi's wall damage even begins. The video of it is pretty awesome though, so I'll move it to Algol SAs for reference/discussion.

All i can think about watching this video is

HEY! HEY! HEY! HEY! HEY! HEY! HEY! HEY!

Don't get too defensive.

harlekein: he's not being too defensive, this was discovered pretty early

good work regardless neorussel. the true infinite only works in a corner though correct? honestly reminds me of taki's SC3 FC 1A+B, which was never banned because there are almost no actual corners in SC games

The Taki FC 1A+B was a real infinite in SC3 because you had enough time to do it and step to the side... so while your opponent can control their trajectory on the ground you just have to watch where they go sidestep appropriately and keep doing it. Unfortunately nobody ever took it that far so everyone is in that "I cant do it so it cant work" boat

Algol is shenanigans and properly defending him IMO is going to kill 90+% of the Algol players that will arise
