What's Guard Impact, Brave Edge, Critical Edge and are there overheads/low combo starters in this game or is it just block high or low?

So there are two different inputs for throws in SC4 and SC5. Is there a visual effect that I can react to to know which throw is being used, or is a 50/50 guessing game the entire time?

Strings that if fully performed can only be blocked. You can evade none of the hits by ducking, jumping, auto evade, auto GI or GIing. Some moves such as Kilik 6AAA only jail on hit wheras things like Ivy CL 1BB+K jail on block. =)

What does the C mean before some moves? Not counter hit?

For example, in the Hilde SC5 forums it says:

c2a 1kk for a combo. What does the first C mean?

nightmare easy to learn but somewhat hard to master.
