BlazBlue - GuiltyGear's next gen cousin

Didn't mean to spook ya :-)

I'll probably be playing this more than anything else because it's actually fun to play and easy to jump into. I thought SF4 was going to tide me over, but it's been a disappointment for me and not fun to play. My brother and I have been playing Street Fighter for 17 years, and he played SF4 for like a week and quit. Another friend of mine bought it, played it for a week and then traded it in. I still play SF4, but I don't have fun with it, especially online. At least SC4 is fun and so is BB.

And I thought BB was just going to be alright, but I had no idea at how awesome this game was going to turn out. You are getting alot of value for your $60. Get this muthafucka.

you forgot one....

- It's about 432083024848505382 times better than SF4 aka the most boring fighting game ever made.

this game is about as different from SF4 as you can get while still being a 2D fighter

Thank you. That's a good thing to hear when i absolutely detested SF4, I want to get the taste of horrific 2D fighter out of my mouth.

I'm in agreement with everyone about this game being more fun than SFIV. It almost makes me not want to touch SFIV ever again (although I still will because I like playing Viper and actually have peeps to play against offline).

Although I get the trend that the majority of the people who hate SFIV never bothered to actually learn any of the new SFIV characters and just ran with one of the characters from previous games. Hence why you get "the same old shit" argument half the time. In BB, you're FORCED to learn a character because this is a brand new franchise.

I didn't want to put it THAT way...but yes, I wholeheartedly agree.

Honestly, I think GG just complicates things needlessly with all the stuff the designers have thrown in there. I'm no good at 2D fighters (and some would say not even that great at SC4 right now) but I did essentially put together a damaging combo on my own with about 15-20 minutes of practice. By "on my own," I mean recreating and understanding what "j. b > b c 236d > j. b 236b 236c > 2c 5b 5c 236b 236c" ACTUALLY means. It's kinda nice for me, relatively new to 2D fighters, being able to understand how combos work in this game in like 15 minutes of training practice. Dunno what that means to you, take it as my 2 cents.

I've played GG on and off for about a year, and could never get anything remotely powerful or damaging, even after an hour in training mode. Honestly, same thing with fucking SF4! Even after an hour of practice, I still can't get any damaging combos worth a shit (with anybody that's not named Ken/Ryu). Then again, I main Rose, so...that is probably part of my problem. Still, SF4 isn't my cup of tea anyways. BB is.

Story mode is actually fun to play.

Gameplay is good.

Graphics are good.

Music is good.

Character design, originality and mechanics are great. Everyone is very different from each other.

The bonus material is actually worth looking at and listening to.

The gameplay doesn't seem to get stale like SFIV, eg spam fireballs and stay on opposite sides of the screen.

There's even little things you'll like in the game as well.

All in all, this game surprised me. I didn't think it would be anymore than average, but I think I might be done with SFIV. It's good to have a new 2d fighter that's good and actually fun to play right now.

game actually suprised me at the depth and simplicity, but there are advance concepts i have yet to discover and i cant wait to!

add me on psn if anyone wants to get a few good games

I think it helps you aren't so scared to play offense as opposed to SF4, which really rakes you over if you're too aggressive.

Lol, sitting down in practice mode for a few hours already reminded me why I hate down down specials in doujin fighters.

I'm in love with this game! Though I think I may have bit off more than I can chew with Litchi, I'm going to stick with her!

Now, if I could just get a PROPER PORT for Sugoi! Arcana Heart 2 I will be set for a good looooong time!

Finally got my copy. So far I'm impressed- it seems like a souped up GG game. My only complaint, which isn't really a complaint, is that it's painfully obvious that this is meant to replace GG because some of the characters are blatant copies.

Ragna=Sol
Jin=Ky/Millia
Tager=Potemkin
Litchi=Bridget/Jam
Carl=Zappa
Bang=Chipp
Arakune=Slayer/Venom/Faust
Hakumen=Justice

Did I mention that I love this game? Lol.

I've only been playing Jin and I'm already hooked! XD

In terms of physical design, yeah. As far as character persona, nearly all of them are completely different than their GG counter part.

Anyway, Noel is very fun to play. Now that I finally bothered to start learning a character today (I've been completing story and arcade for the past 2 days), I'm satisfied with my choice in Noel. She's still a whiny bitch, but her character has grown on me enough for me to tolerate it. I still have a lot to learn with her though.

I've also discovered the horrors that are the D Spamming Noel's. Didn't want to believe it, but damn it all. It's true. Looks like even BlazBlue is subject to the flowchart treatment.

PS: Tiamat is rocking my 1 day Noel hard with his Tager :(. The power of science is great indeed. GGs to him and Windstar. Online is pretty good.

Awesome games, Tiamat and Shinobi and Lyger too. Shame Ricexbandit (aka Twilightfox) and Panda didn't join us. Would've been more fun. Especially since Ricexbandit has a mean Jin.

Shinidutch's Taokaka was amazing. During my fight, my phone started ringing and kept distracting me, couldn't maintain focus. Gotta figure out how to beat Taokaka's Tuna Super... friggin' unblockable.

Good lord does Tager wrack up damage quick! Where did my health go? I did fine playing gun tag with him but once he got in, ugh.

From what I'm reading on SRK, Tager is pretty low tier. Supposedly you can see the magnetic hands and stay out of his range and he's pretty telegraphed. I'm awful at this game since it just came out and I only played it a whooping 4 times. SRK's tier list seems pretty solid (not sure where they got it from)

*gasp*

A fighting game has a rating of 9? An AA fighting game? An AA that's NOT an FPS?

....

... ladies and gentlemen. The world is about to end as we know it. Meteors will rain down from the heavens, seas will split and skies will turn red...

... dramatic, but you guys get the idea. XD

PS. Litchi is hard to master as ***** ><
