- Easier to recover after 6B counter.
- J2C can not link to other normals on block.
- New frog meter.

So Noel and Rachel are pretty much unplayable right now. Lol. Why does Noel get the Nerf bat so hard? I dunno. It's not like she was overpowered or anything before. But if Noel is still shit in the final build I guess I might try out Tsubaki.

Yeah note the inverted gold crucifixes on both boots, the reinforced toes and the hanging flaps, the use of mantled cloaks:

She's probably special forces or something. But I can't say I dig the look of the eyes. They're so cartoonish and dopey looking, like they're nodding off to sleep. Perhaps this is going to give them their own character but for sheer design purposes I would have went with something like an Egyptian or Quaker eye.

Any word on the changes to these guys?

Well, her design is based off the All-Seeing Eye/Eye of Providence schtick. Probably with some Greek mythology in there. I imagine her whole outfit is actually some spell or part of the weapon she wields. If you notice in the character art, her eyes are slightly aglow to match with the other three eyes. She's basically in a state of omniscience.

Jin x Tsubaki = Jinbaki? Tsujin? I dunno what the pairing would be called.

If there is a loving god, this will be true.

Yeeeah, Noel and Rachel got the nerf bat rammed into the vag. They were both complete ass the first loke test from the info provided.

Considering Rachel was one of the top 3 it's somewhat understandable even though it was too harsh. However, Noel (being mid tier AT BEST) getting it as bad makes no sense what-so-ever.

Oh well, all hope was lost in this first loke test. Bring on the next one. If the changes stay, I'll just cheese Haku-men's buffs and bump down Noel to secondary.

Seems to me they're just trying to expand her options, but they would need to tone down some of her stuff first.

I mean, 5A, 22C and 6B 6C and the throw-cancel combo were more than over-abused. So in some ways it makes sense to tone these down and buff up some of her other stuff. And while I'd hate to deal with any more Noel D spammers, it would be nice if the stuff were less risky and more combo friendly.

Of course, the fact that 5A, et al, were abused so much speaks volumes of just how awful her other options were.

As for Jin, well, he needed some stuff toned down. j.B is so fast that the few players with anti-air just couldn't punish or anticipate it well enough. I'm glad that Jin's new j.C has horizontal coverage. He really lacked a good air-to-air move.

I'm curious to see what's going to happen to Jin's ground game. He only had a few good ground combos and his air combo game relied on specific (though frequent) cases of being able to punish or hit crouching. With 5C, 6C no longer linking, and his counter hit DPs no longer able to prop up air combos, I'm curious to see how he'll be able to execute combos now.

Maybe Frostbite will last long enough for a 6C to connect? There's also 2D being reportedly faster now.

There's still a few location tests left, so maybe they'll backpedal on some stuff or introduce some new stuff which Jin and Noel can better manage. At least Jin has some new defensive options (Yukikaze) to deal with his lackluster pressure game.

I'm so making Tsubaki my major alt if not my main by the time CS comes out. The idea of powering up a movelist with each attack is quite intriguing for me.

Well, they were over abused because, as you said, that's all she had. And even then, that wasn't enough to get her out of mid tier status. Both her and Ragna suffered from the same linear syndrome. Hence, their place on the tier listings.

Now, her few good options were taken away with NOTHING to compensate. They didn't buff anything of her's to give her more options. Faster Optic Barrel start-up with less frame advantage? That will certainly help [/sarcasm]. They simply made the few good options she did have 2x worse rendering her to be trash along with Rachel in this loke test. Like I said, bring on the next loke test. Noel has no positive future with the current one.

Only nerf I agree with 100% that they did with Noel was nerfing her 22C loop damage (it lead to stupid high damage). That's about it.

Only people who could possibly be rejoicing over the Noel news in the first loke test are D spammers who got new D moves to spam.

I have no idea what they tried to accomplish with Rachel. She had to turtle quite a bit before she could start her rushdown, but now its as if they want her to turtle even more, with even worse zoning. Her new distortion drive, I can't possibly imagine being good enough to merit costing all wind, when they've already nerfed her wind regen and got rid of frog combos.

Keep in mind, that one day of playing with a new character only makes what doesn't work readily apparent. It doesn't present new possibilities as easily. Hopefully they'll get a good balance with this game, the first try didn't work out so hot.

Well, if there is one good hope for Rachel...

it's hope that her knocked down hitbox is shrunk so Jin's Ice Car can't hit it from across the screen.

Hazama uses knives and chains.

Hazama has a flash kick (Dark Flash Kick?)

Wonder if Hazama will be the new scrub character?

Hazama/Terumi confirmed. I came.

If Bang is fucking trash tier again, I'm hopping on dat Hazama bandwagon.

hmmm...some system and character changes are re-interesting me.

If I jump back on this, Im using Hazama.

If it's not a Haku-men, Tager, or Bang character change, I don't know how you could be re-interested, lol.

Anyway, common consensus is that everyone and their mother is going to be using Hazama at one point or another JUST because.

Is there any confirmation that this is a sequel to Calamity Trigger, at least in story, or whether it's just a rehash like GGXX#R?

For some reason, I think of Hazama having a more Jazzy-rock tune.

Though I bet his boss form, Terumi, will have something similar to Nu.
