Ah ok. Then i think they are wrong :P
Could anyone confirm those 3 things i asked about? Im confirming them myself, but that doesnt really help if i was wrong at some point

We really shouldnt mix up FD from the guide with selfmade FD.

Its not important if a move is i11 or i12, its important that all FD for all arenas are constant within each other. If one FD is from the guide and the other on is not, it will get messy.

Spidey what was your start? Did you take Impact speeds from another soul Arena? If yes were they out of the guide?

It was from NM and from the guide yes. Pretty simple stuff like K is i13, 6K i14, ws K 0 on hit etc. When you find a move that has 0 on hit/block and the speed of a couple of moves (its possible with 1 in theory but would take ages lol) you can pretty much discover everything.
Also i checked the speed the given moves vs chars like maxi/sieg.

I agree that it isnt important if a move is i11 or i12, but what IS important is when a move is indeed, say -16 but iGDR is listed as i17 when it actually is i16.

iGDR is not i16. I just spent half an hour testing moves that were -16 and every single one got blocked. In soul calibur 4 I could punish Cassandra's 236(B) with iGDR and that was an i15 to a -15 move. -17s I got everytime my execution didn't fail me.
3A is actually i16, 3B is i19 since it cannot punish -18s but can catch -19 and -20 and interrupted where it should, 3A+B is i21 according to what it clashed with or beat. I just tested.

I get to 3A to clash with Sieg's 6A/3K/4K after +0 on hit which means that it is i15. To confirm that i did Sieg's BB on block (-15) and 3A punished ONLY up close, still making it i15 even though depending on the range.

Tested 3B vs Sie'gs 6K (i19) after a +0 and Sieg's 6K (considered i19) won. To confirm i did Sieg's 2A (-4 on hit) followed with a 6A/4K and 3B lost again, where Sieg's 6K would clash.

Nvm the above. If we agree on 3A+B speed then we can do a simpler test. According to your tests K on hit (+2) then 3A+B should clash with a 3B, but it actually loses to a 3A+B.

Now iGDR. Couldnt punish Cervy's 3A or Sieg's 1AA, both -16 on block, so i was probably wrong about that. Although i managed to get a clash with Sieg's b6 (i16), but it seems its because of the range/hitbox of b6 a bit further away.

Again a confirmation (on stuff other than iGDR) would be awesome.

What are the best ways to use his B combination, considering they're all horrible and block and hit unless you finish the string and hit with it?

The old use was, do BB and hit confirm into the 3rd B if it is a counter hit. Pretty much the same if you wanna use it outside a 3A+B combo

I'll update with the JF list soon. i'm trying to get my hands on the Guide, but it's hard to get in the Netherlands.

214K B(during hit):B(just) and 1A:B(just).

Those are the only ones I found as well. Am I correct when saying you can only JF 1A:B on counterhit?

4K and 4KK also need JF to get BT B+K. And for 1B+K Cancel the window is quite big...not really a JF.

Could you explain this one? I''ve been searching for ways to cancel into his BT B+K. Am i supposed to hit B+K on hit? or is it just cancellable, if so is it in the startup frames or in the recovery?

3A is -16 on block? Really? REALLY?

How do you guys not have a video thread btw? I honestly have no idea how I'd play this character against someone that knows his stuff now, seems like I'd treat him exactly like Nightmare, just block and punish all day. Would love to see some footage of people using him effectively, not even sure where to start aside from "lol do iGDR combos."

Kowtow: it's mostly about whiff punishing and taking massive damage. 3A being -16 is okay, in my book, because Cervantes' verticals are ridiculous. You have a 33B that's safe, a 2A+B that's safe, and a 3B that's damn near safe. Pepper in a few 4As and you can work a surprisingly good guard game. This will induce people to step into unsafe yet rewarding stuff like 3A and 3A+B.
