CEVO LLC (CYBER EVOLUTION) is very excited to announce the opening of the first CEVO Street Fighter 4 XBOX 360 Live Tournament. This online event is completely free to enter and will feature $500.00 in cash prizes.

The Street Fighter 4 XBOX 360 Live Tournament is a double elimination online event for gamers in the XBOX 360 community. The format of the tournament will be 1 v 1. Registration for the tournament will open on Thursday, March 5th at midnight and remain open until 11:59pm est Sunday, April 4th. First round matches will be scheduled April 6th after 11:01 PM CDT time and the deadline for first round matches will be April 9th.

PRIZES:

1st: $250.00
2nd: $150.00
3rd: $100.00

RULES:

Game Play Match Start Times
Players should ensure that they are ready to play fifteen (15) minutes prior to the agreed upon time. After fifteen (15) minutes have passed, both players must be connected to the agreed upon host.


Match Guidelines and Information

Match Hosting
A host MUST be agreed on by both players and MUST fall within the PING IMBALANCE RULE. You may test both hosts until the best one has been determined. The host MUST be one of the players participating in the match.

- Standard Hosting Policy: The player who has the BEST CONNECTION will be considered the HOST.

- Optional Hosting Policy: If one (1) of the players has an excellent connection both players ping fairly to, they may agree to use that host for the duration of the match.

- Scheduling Matches: Please use the CEVO schedule system on the CEVO site to get in contact with your opponent. XBL and Email may be used but the CEVO site is the best bet.


Match Format
BEST OF THREE (3) FORMAT (Regular Bracket Play)
Each match of tournament play will be played in a best of (3) three format. In a best of three (3) format, the first player to win (2) two matches will be considered the winner of the match. If by any chance there would to be a tie (Double KO) then an elimination match MUST be played to determine the winner.

BEST OF FIVE (5) FORMAT (Tournament Winner/Loser Finals for the Finals Bracket)
All tournament final bracket matches will be played in a best of (5) five format. In a best of five (5) format, the first player to win (3) three matches will be considered the winner of the match. If by any chance there would to be a tie (Double KO) then an elimination match MUST be played to determine the winner.

BEST OF FIVE (5) FORMAT (Tournament Grand Championship Final)
The Grand Finals matche will be played in a best of (5) five format. In a best of five (5) format, the first player to win (3) three matches will be considered the winner of the match. If by any chance there would to be a tie (Double KO) then an elimination match MUST be played to determine the winner


Match Breaks
There are NO match breaks allowed in between rounds.


Game / Option Settings
- Players: 1 vs. 1
- Round Time: 99 secs
- Rounds: 2 Rounds
- Handicap: OFF
- Characters: ALL Characters are allowed
- Round Winners: MUST keep their character, Match Losers MAY change characters if they choose
- Starting a game with the wrong rules or settings will result in a forfeiture of the current stage for the host team

Signups start tomorrow.

How many rounds is each game set to? Having dealt with this silly Gamestop SF4 tournament up to now, I know that to them 3 of 5 matches means a single game, with 3 of 5 ROUNDS. Since I see the grand finals are best of 7, and that setting doesn't exist in SF4, you must actually know how to run a tournament better than fucking Gamestop lol. Just curious if the rounds will be best of 3 or 5.

Should be interesting to see how this double elim format plays out online though. Also what's your policy on players agreeing to play at different times? (if players have work at a certain time, etc.)

Alright just got done talking to a bunch of top level/SRK people, and they said Gouken and Seth should be unbanned. There is no reason for those two to be banned. Also, The grand finals match will be 3/5 matches instead of 4/7.

That is all that have changed in the rules.

and KowtowRobinson it is 2/3 Matches (set as two rounds per match) for regular play and 2/5 for finals (set as two rounds per match)

IMPORTANT NOTICE!!!! TO ANYONE THAT MADE A SF4 TEAM!

You can Now Join the event. by going to My account, Manage Teams, go to your SF4 team (Manage) and press join event or sign up team.

I have to update the Standings, so if your name doesn't show up after joining, don't worry, i just have to update the standings manually. Also, if you get this error:

Unknown error occurred while joining event. Event not joined. (group: 1043)

Just keep trying.

Also you will be put in the Not Ready Group and i have to manually put you in a group when this event is done Registrations

April 5th is when Reg. Closes, Brackets are made, and the 1st round of matches are schedule. THe 1st round is then due by April 9th.

Remember, this tournament will take about a month or 2 to complete, but each week 2 rounds are played out. We will probably at this rate have 8 Groups, A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H, and each group will bring 4 players to the 2 Semi Finals brackets. Then the 32 players from both Semi final bracket will bring 8 players down to the Finals Bracket. and then those 8 players play till the Grand Finals. So hopefully we can make this happen everyone :D

I have put all 256 players in 16 groups. (Brackets have not been set up yet though)

There will be 16 (16 man) brackets to begin with. From those 16 brackets, 4 people from each bracket (64 people) will go off to one of the 4 (16 man) Semi-Finals brackets. From those semi brackets 4 people from each will move onto the (16 man) Finals bracket. Each time you make it to a new bracket, the Double Elimination rule resets, so its like a bonus if you are coming from the previous bracket on the Losers side.

If you are in the Not Ready group, I do apologize in advance but you can't play in the CEVO's Season 1 Street Fighter tournament. You were to late in signing up.

Just updated you all on what is going on. Once Brackets are made i will update you all again.

REMEMBER ONCE THE BRACKETS ARE UP, DO NOT PLAY YOUR MATCH. NO MATCHES WILL BE PLAYED TILL APRIL 6TH after 12:01 am est.

How strict are the times we have to play at? I've got a good feeling this entire tournament is gonna be me getting peaced out on DQ's because of my work schedule and some little internet kids goin NO YOU HAVE TO BE THERE OR ILL DQ YOU.

You have 2-4 days depending on the round to play your match. Times can be worked out in the CEVO's Scheduling thread.

*REMEMBER!!* do not play any of these matches till I give the go, Im going to give all you guys a jump start just to get use to the CEVO scheduling thread and stuff like that. To schedule a match is simple. GO to your account on the CEVO site,Scroll down a bit and look on the left for the link that said Schedule matches, click on it, go to your match that is pending, and go from there, pretty self explanatory. To report matches, go to your account and go to the Report match link and its going to look something like this:

H1 --- H2 ---- OT

0 ----- 0 ------ 0
0 ----- 0 ------ 0

H1 = Match 1
H2 = Match 2
OT = Match 3

Fill in which matches you won since it is Best of three and click report match and you will be all set.

Im going to post here and on my 1st post the brackets. So after i post the brackets give it about a hour or 2 before i schedule the Round 1 match and then you all should receive an email if you are in any of the groups about your match, who you are playing, and more info like that. Alright guys, The Deadline date for Round 1 will be April 9th before 11:59pm est. Any matches not schedule or played after this time will become a Forfeit win for the person who proposes the match and if nobody even bothers posting then the HOME team will get the FFW into the next round. Ill post that in every schedule thread as well, so there is no confusion. Good luck, have fun and please don't make this tournament hard on anyone :P

Just Letting you all know that Round 2 matches are up and ready, Here is what i posted in each one of your scheduling threads, so please pay attention to it.

For every match, please take screen shots or cap matches. Not necessary but if you want to dispute a match, you need evidence behind your dispute. Good Luck Have fun.

I posted it on all the Fighting game forums..... and i now wonder why you guys question this after this thread being up for about a month a half
