Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate

Back there (on the CGS age) i really enjoyed th fights from this guy.
Hope he`s doing well in DoA 5 again..he is pure Entertainment to watch!
im talking about the one and only MASTER...lol ok that sounded a lil bit nerdy hmm..nah..whatever !!!
(no flaming plz)

I remember Julius Rage. He talks a lot of shit and always refers to himself in the 3rd person. Reminds me of a lame Rock (the wrestler).

Well I suck balls and never practice this game even though I really like it, but I'm already registered for DOA at NEC. So I'll play it for fun and maybe it'll get a new fire burning you never know.

I wonder with how "button-mashy"-friendly characters like Baek, Hwoarang and Rig are if anyone, who plays fighting games, ends up thinking that Taekwondo must be the "easiest" martial art to learn?

oooooor..you are playing Kim Kaphwhan from FF/KoF series..then you need skill ;)
But dont`t worry i know very well what you try to say...lol if i see a baek in TTT his alltime favor Aibo is some Law`s...
(side note:i dont like tae-kwon-do)

Anyway...just a question here..i just watched these days some CGS vids..and ehm..whats up with Offbeat Ninja?..
did he still play DoA?..i do remember he did play in SC4 Siegfried..but thats all.

Offbeat, from my understanding, kind of retired from competitive gaming.

Is this game still getting support? I kinda havent heard of things about it after TTT2 and marvel flooding the scenes. I seen some tourny vids here and there but after that it was kinda mute? Just wanna know considering i MIGHT get it but not sure yet.

Dead or Alive In Dallas 8 is going on this weekend with Absolute Battle. It's one of the top 4 grassroots events for the game. The next after that is North East Championships 13 in the first weekend of December.

The game has only been out for a little over a month which isn't much time for events + weekends.

I haven't played much KOF. I'll try it out later. I use to do Taekwondo a few years ago for almost 10 years and I know all the strenuous exercises you have to do in order to have the agility to kick at the speed that most people punch at it. Although I will note that all the moves Rig or Baek/Hwaorang do are legit such as 540 tornado kicks and the like.

Just a funny coincidence that most 3D fighter TKD users would come off as "button-mashy". I'm also unsure if I'd consider what Sarah does to be TKD. Seems to be more of a custom style.

I'm trying... really I am.

But every time I turn on the game and get to the menu and find all my work gone... I just can't get motivated to even try to go back into the game and recover what I lost. It would probably be different had I "beaten" the game. Sorry, I just can't bring myself to play it anymore at the moment.

Are you playing DOA5 just to recover lost data or "beat" the game? Clearing the story mode only takes a few hours at most. I personally play DOA5 because I have fun playing it and enjoy its combat system and interactive environments, not to mention the *ahem* attractive characters.

Try focusing on playing the game naturally such as training your main instead of focusing on superficial completion.

So, yeah, I dropped this game after a few weeks of playing it. It just doesn't feel like Dead or Alive anymore. Now it feels like a bootleg Virtua Fighter with ninja bitches. I like how they balanced the counters, but I feel as though it now focuses on hitstun too much. Not to mention you can still get away with a lot of random and stupid shit like past DOAs.

Also everybody's wardrobe sucks balls even with DLC.
