Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate

well, people don't use her though. i mostly see the blatant more direct cast in tourneys. but what i'm trying to say is that i can't answer for other people playing her in tourneys. but of course this is primarily my opinion and observations. but the game is unbalanced already as it is but that's why a patch is coming out specifically geared towards character balance. `

just to clarify. i said 100+ damage for 40-50% health. i don't understand how this got messed up when yall read it but whateves. and i didn't say broken. i said unbalanced. now can read read these post carefully before replying and trying to correct please?

Ayane is not unbalanced, she would have been rebalanced by now if she was (refer to the +7 on her 66KK4 in Vanilla before patch). The character is fine bro.

Oh god. The math, it hurts. 100/300 is not 40%, it's 1/3 or 33.33%. 40% of 300 would be 120. Anyways, off topic and sorry for picking on your post.

Your Ayane is pretty fun to watch, even if I hate the character. Helena still the best though.

I don't care, be an ass somewhere else, thanks.

People do use her, they don't use her correctly. Aside from myself, there are only a few others that play Ayane pretty well in the offline scene. Force of nature is one, Jared is another, so is Gill Hustle.

There are a lot of Ayane players offline but they do not perform well offline at all because they do not take very good advantage of what she has. Many do not explore her arsenal thoroughly or make great use of her Integrated Movement (I can plainly tell when a player actually has a solid handle on this character or not, and not often do I see it).

Ayane is a strong character with a very solid tool set, and favorable to fair match ups. But is by no means easy to play with at high level very well in a tournament setting. No one understands that.

I perform well with this character (and am still getting stronger) because I've been playing this character for so long that she's like second nature to me. I know how this character operates a lot more than anyone else in the community (tied with Xdest) because I've devoted so many hours of my time exploring what she has to the point of having insomnia.

You will never find anyone else with more game play knowledge of this character than me.

OMG FOLKS!
Yàll really need to calm down..there are many arguments who hajin/force and vince are right...but nobody wants to get understanding what he/she means.
anyway..
Warriors Orochi DLC is out
For those people who bought it, cant i really change the hair of kas Musou DLC outfit?

Are you talking about the 1-frame knee and just frame kicks? or the leon home stage?

Considering how I am in the game (not trying to brag or anything.) It's highly possible to do it via solo on any online lobby. I don't play tag as for me I enjoy it for the combos (Solo is where it's at) Force of nature knows me quite well in the game as well. The only one that may take awhile is Leon since not that many people pick home stage whenever they are second player or they lose.

It's a song from Fighter's Destiny on the first one and yup the second one is from Capcom vs SNK 2. Here's another one:

I just meant that with the lag, the rather vapid, random and low skilled play of ranked that pulling off those combos online might be a bit more tricky to do, rather than me harping on your skill (of which you have plenty off to pull off stuff like that). I'm practicing combos in free training every time I'm online, I never just sit and wait for the next match I'm always in Free Training practicing and perfecting everything I do and I just wait for the Throwdowns and players challenging me before and after each match.

A lot of the times, however, I'm never able to get the combos I want to come off.

A good example is Jacky. I know his major launchers being 4H+K, 23P, and 6K, but most of the time when I set up a launcher combo, the only one that works with reasonable success is 4H+K. If I, say, after five or six repetitions of starting the same combo with 4H+K switch off to 23P as my launcher or 6K as my launcher, I'm nearly always held and punished for it. So often times I can't vary or attempt to try something new online against many other players because they simply don't care what I do.

Which is what I meant when trying those combos online, not that they won't work or anything like that, but because many players will just shrug it off or still randomly hold and be stubborn about it. =)

Anyway, the combos are awesome and I like them a lot. I kinda want to try some of these online too. Sadly, I have yet to find away to make Jacky's [6]KH work online, and though I can do it with some measure of success offline, I still not a lot of practice.

How are they able to break the camera zoom limitations for these videos? Every time I've tried to zoom out I'm unable to.

Now I understand. You do speak the truth about it, Jacky's [6]KH varies and become severe on low connection. Performing them on a slow paced connection can really hinder you and may drop potential combos with him. I mostly stay for 4+ or 5 connection. Anything lower and I will definitely drop around the 2nd one or so. I do hate the online sometimes. Not going to lie.

Wednesday Night Fights is next Wednesday folks, 12/18. SoCal players I expect you all to attend. 12/18 is the last day of the WNF 5.0 season. Let's try not to disappoint (and please do not disappoint me either) Level up series with a low turnout on the last day of the season. Let's go out with a bang.

Come out to Super Arcade and support Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate.

Im gonna support from the Chat as like"almost" everytime...

Eh, I know it's not much since it's a local tourney, but I can proudly say that I just won my first tourney for DOA5. Last year I came in 3rd, but it's nice to be on the winning side of Grand Finals for once.

I look forward to how future tourneys turn out!

Well done! Sorry I couldn't be there, but I did need to get some Christmas shopping done.

That said, my disc reader just kicked. Considering picking up Core Fighters + Momiji until I can get my machine looked at.

So I've been thinking... Kokoro's 236P+K is actually a pretty good move. There are quite a few ways to utilize it and it feels more than just tag team combo filler. Especially given its rather nice Heichu mix up.

Local tournaments are a good way to test your progress in the game. They do not hold the same amount of worth as winning a major does (obviously), but they do hold worth.

For me, I just treat every single local tournament I attend as a means of testing my own progress and see how consistent I can be in tournament play. All in preparation for majors.

@Amanda Oh lol, my bad. I don't really check anyone's profiles here so I didn't assume anything. x:

That's cool dude, you got one of the best work-ethics in DOA and it shows. I just come out to play because I enjoy playing DOA and want to encourage everyone in my scene to step their game up and come out instead of just settling for the status quo, i.e. not coming out and just playing online. On the other hand, I got a couple satisfying runbacks this time around. One of which was a GenFu player who slaughtered me horribly last time.

I didn't actually care too much that I won, because in my mind I achieved my immediate goal of beating the people who beat me previously. The win was just a formality really. Now I expect them to Come At Me at the next tourney!
