As we move closer to October and November, it becomes more interesting to see if the dlc will match these godforsaken codename or not!

The only real mystery being grey, though, that just makes the wait all the more chilling. It will probably be like a year from now. I can’t wait to see @Nyte react if it’s Rock.

Can you imagine the rage if Rock returns with his axe?

I imagine that will be his weapon due to the lore. The axe as a main weapon with maces as custom weapons or as the 7th/ultimate weapon

If Rock gets added as the last DLC character, I can see his story being after his battle with Aeon where his Axe breaks. It would be about picking up a new weapon and training himself to better protect Bangoo. His fighting style would then change to better fit his new weapon (an axe is a sharp weapon that specializes in cutting and cleaving while a mace is better suited for smashing so both have different use cases which is enough of an excuse to change his moveset). They could easily come up with something for what Rock was doing at the time frame leading to the events and during the events of SoulCalibur II. I would love to see Bandai Namco's attempt on adding a new big man like Astaroth but with a different moveset.

Assuming Aeon is added as well (unlikely, but it would be cool to see him as a free DLC) then his story can intertwine with Rock's in which he battles Rock in one of those chapters but Rock uses an Axe and Astaroth's moveset. This chapter would end with Aeon breaking Rock's weapon.

This game needs another "big man" with a different moveset since Astaroth is the only character that fulfills that role.

For each time someone says rock will never be dlc or that rock is anti hype my desire for rock grows exponentially.

Rock’s return to soulcalibur will be the exact opposite feeling I will get if hwang comes back.

Hwang will be the end of a long road. Rock will be glorious feeding on the salt mines!

My hopes for Rock is that they will make him feel powerful. I wroe and said hat on several occasions that Rock's moveset and VFX made him feel way more powerful than Asta in SC IV so I hope they will keep it like that or even improve upon it.

I personally think Rock will have moves that are fitting to the large mace, his original axe will only significally play a visual role in story mode. It will be no different to what Cassandra has with that rolling pin and basket for her sword and shield.

You would think an original character from soul edge would get more respect! Project soul has kept his style in every game except 5 and 6 (so far) so he’s been in 5 of the 7 games in the series

I just hope they’d make Rock not how he was handled in SC4. The poor guy was struggling to make a dent in that game.
Since he’d be a full fledged dlc character they would be putting more resources into him to make him standout so he’d be greatly improved like Cass and Amy were

This seems a frame data complaint than a complaint about his play style. No doubt he will get loads of new moves and PS with balance him better. Considering how fun a lot of the characters are I'm sure they will knock it out of the park with Rock.

They can also use this opportunity to make Rock a handsome character. He was done a nasty by his modeler in SC4, looking absolutely hideous!

Yeah, he was such a hot daddy before...
its a lot to ask for but I really hope SC7 changes the graphics engine because the graphics style used in SC4-6 is simply not capable of producing models that look half as good as their artwork.

big nose Raphael vampire was one of the worst offenders of this

No. It’s just that from a gameplay aspect Astaroth was able to do what Rock could do in IV, except Astaroth was able to outclass him in all those areas, and even go the extra mile in comparison to Rock.

the answer to your question is gimmicks. You get a gimmick, she gets a gimmick, Rock gets gimmick!

Will they have Rock strip and slow down enemies with his Rock hard abs as a gimmick? Something about Stones or Rock elements? Maybe a blunt force gimmick?

I also want to point out that soulcalibur doesn’t do gender clone swaps like Tekken does.

The closest thing was alpha patroklos and that was obviously a last minute cram to get setsuka style in the game. It was never intended to be a permanent replacement.

So rock will not be replaced by any female
