Hello...
This is my first post in this page, im mostly a tekken player and a SC3 player... But i have to tell you that us, dominican, were not very happy with some comment that were made in EVO 2009 about omega


Not trying to give a lot of explaining in text... Just listen to the video.


I now that in the end of the video, they start complementing omega, but Most of the fight is someone just complaining...
 
Sounds to me like the guy was trying to be entertaining and clever with his commentary. Most of it was in bad taste and he just ended up sounding a bit douchey. Take it with a grain of salt and let it go.
 
Yeah, I remember watching the stream and thinking the guy trying to be funny was just a douche. I actually cringed when he said "most likely from THE STREETS". But, people talk. When you try to make stuff up on the spot sometimes dumb shit comes out. But he also pretty much said that everyone in the Dominican Republic is a gay baseball player, so I can see why you would be upset. Still, I don't think there's much that can be done about it. It's not like these guys are pro commentators.
 
i thought the comment about zas taking people out of the club was funny. i think the guy was just highlighting his own ignorance mostly, nothing intentional im sure
 
lol. That guy was an idiot and a horrible commentator. Who the hell gave him a mic?
 
I heard the commentary and there was no shit talk at all, just a commentaor making the fight hype. Fucking spics can't take any joke cuz they'll start crying. Omega is a great player, i should know he kick the shit out of me at evo.

drtekken: solo es commentario, no tomes todo en serio, solo eran palabras para hacer la pelea mas entretenida. En el video que gravaste oyi que tu estabas hablando mas mierda que el commentario. Y quien eres tu? solo porque eres dominicano te sientes offendio? Yo puedo entender y si era algo vulgar o racista. cresca un par de cojones buey.
 
Pues le informo que el que grabo el video no fui yo. Yo solo lo postie. y Quien soy yo... Que tiene que ver eso con nada... Puedo ser un pelotero, un medico o un politico y eso no me quita el derecho de no estar contento con el comentario.

but in something i agree with you, omega is a great player and person and is very humble about it.

Thats exactly what aris was doing on the mic. TRASH TALK!. You dont have to be a douche to be a good commentator, look at cha cha for example.
 
The constant reference "from the streets" and then the "We're having problems with Omega. As I said, he's from the streets he may be pullin' some OG sh*t right now..." what kind of garbage is that? Seriously, when a herb talks like that, he should watch his mouth. I hope he'd feel good enough to say that around real hood folk and see if he doesn't get jumped on "in the streets". Real childish. And dude was being racist when he started talking about 'he's too busy to watch baseball' as he's talking about the Dominican Republic. He was being real disrespectful. Dude should never comment at another event. You could tell dude was bias and hatin' in the beginning then giving props later, but seriously, he gotta leave the smack talk out in the future.

Yeah. It's obvious he didn't mean anything personal by it. To me, it was apparent the commentator knew he was making fun of himself by also picking on Omega. Almost like, "I'm bored, I need something interesting to say... HEY LOOK. I CAN MAKE STEREOTYPES." The guy knew he was being ignorant, just had to.


Ironically, I was laughing at Omega's reaction each time his controller plugged out. Like in Soccer when you see those guys who fake an injury and act all serious about it. "WASN'T ME! I SWEAR!!!"

Making stereotypical remarks about someone you don't know is just plain douchey to me. And then he didn't even know anything about the game either. I really can't see how those two added up equal good commentating.
 
Yeah, the from the streets stuff just came across as filling dead air. It didn't seem especially clever or interesting.

Don't think they ever said anything against Omega's ability though. They said Zas was a low tier character, but that's nothing against Omega. It's more a testament to his skill that he's able to do so well with Zas.

i could say something similar. and i don't think that it could bother anybody.

i mean, i could say we got a problem with Aris, as i said he is a completely moron, and i think his comments are gay.

i could say that Aris is the dumbest commentator i've ever saw, and that he looks pretty much like a fat ass primitive caveman.

I just think when someone is going to speak in front of people, should be carefull and remember that is not funny if someone trash talk about your country or persona, then should think twice about doing it...

And also, Is not wise to trash talk about someone you dont know, you could speak about something objetive: example (if someone is playing you could speak about his habit of throwing a lot, or poking a lot)............

Because i believe the idea of A comentator was to comment about the game and gameplay, and Im very sure that was not achieved very well.
